Race Preview

R1 – PRIX DE BONNEUIL-EN-VALOIS – 2800m (a1 3/4m) – TURF – Condition Race – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 22.000

1. LE GAST – Has both the form and experience to stake a claim in a race of this nature. Dangerous
to dismiss
2. MELLAH – Has shown enough to have a winning chance in this race and his track experience
ought to stand him in good stead
3. SYKES – Has shown little in either outing to warrant consideration here and can be ruled out.
Overlook
4. ELLERTON – Finished close to Barbate at Compiègne and that form was boosted by the latter
who repeated brilliantly at Clairefontaine
5. PRESAGE NOCTURNE – Made an encouraging debut and would’ve gained plenty from that
experience. Likely improver, keep safe
6. PORT SAID – Florian Bellemere-trained Pomellato newcomer to be ridden by Benjamin Marie.
Best watched for now

Summary : Despite the small number of starters, there are a few who can claim victory. MELLAH
(2) has been consistent this year and finished 2nd to a useful sort at Dieppe last time, so this could
be his day. ELLERTON (4) has a bad habit of losing ground at the start but has the form and
experience to fight for victory. PRESAGE NOCTURNE (5) caught the eye when runner-up on debut
and is capable of joining that fight with improvement expected.

SELECTIONS
MELLAH (2) – ELLERTON (4) – PRESAGE NOCTURNE (5) – LE GAST (1)

R2 – PRIX DE LONVAL – 2800m (a1 3/4m) – TURF – Condition Race – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 22.000

1. RODAINAH – Did better than her recent classification (7th) at Clairefontaine suggests. Could get
into the picture
2. QUEEN ZARA – Confirmed the promise of her debut (4th) by finishing 2nd last time and will have
more to offer. Hard to beat
3. CORUNNA – Caught the eye on debut when a promising 3rd and is likely to improve for that
experience. Keep safe
4. MARELIE – Finished close to QUEEN ZARA (2) in the reference event and on that form must be
respected. Chance
5. CYANE – Open to improvement after finishing a modest 7th on debut but is best watched for
now. Outsider
6. ISIS D’INOR – Has nothing noteworthy to her name to warrant any consideration/inclusion here.
Can be ruled out
7. AIGRETTE – Improved to finish 2nd last time and should have a role to play if confirming that
progress. Dark horse
8. KOREA – Finished 2nd on debut to Zillow, who has since shone at Class 2 level, so is dangerous
to dismiss
9. OPALINE BASC – Benjamin Marie rides this Pastorius debutante who is owned and trained by
Florian Bellemere. Watch
10. KIND LOVELY – Dominique Bressou-trained Authorized filly to be ridden by Coralie Pacaut
with a 1,5kg allowance

Summary : QUEEN ZARA (2), who is gaining strength over the course of her races, appears an
obvious favourite and is the horse to beat. She will, however, have to be wary of CORUNNA (3)
who showed potential on debut and is likely to have come on since. MARELIE (4) and AIGRETTE
(7) will benefit from their experience and ought to make their presence felt too.

SELECTIONS
QUEEN ZARA (2) – CORUNNA (3) – MARELIE (4) – AIGRETTE (7)

R3 – PRIX DE VILLERS COTTERETS – 1800m (a1 1/8m) – TURF – Condition Race – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 22.000

1. SAINT ETIENNE – Showed signs of improvement when finishing 3rd last time and could get a
look in here if confirming
2. MADIGAN – Has proven to be fond of Compiègne and recently acquitted himself in good
company. Will be a factor
3. QUEST FOR LOVE – Improved on his debut 4th by finishing 3rd last time and should have more
to offer. Warrants respect
4. ROI DE L’AIR – Runner-up in three consecutive outings before finishing 4th last time. Could get
into the picture
5. LOUGHCREW – Supplemented for this race after a promising debut over this distance at
Clairefontaine. Hard to beat
6. PREWITT – Has finished 3rd in two of three starts this year but has no more than a place chance
here. Outsider

Summary : LOUGHCREW (5) finished an encouraging 2nd on debut and need not improve a great
deal to go one better and open his account here. MADIGAN (2) has the advantage of knowing this
course and distance so is likely to prove his main danger. QUEST FOR LOVE (3) and SAINT
ETIENNE (1) are improving so should have roles to play too.

SELECTIONS
LOUGHCREW (5) – MADIGAN (2) – QUEST FOR LOVE (3) – SAINT ETIENNE (1)

R4 – PRIX DE L’AGGLOMERATION DE LA REGION DE COMPIEGNE (PRIX DE CLAIROIX) – 2400m (a1 1/2m) – TURF – Handicap – Flat – EUR € 25.000

1. ST PANTALEON – Undeniably capable and could improve dropped in the weights but is probably
better on PSF. Lurker
2. DANSEUSE CELEBRE – Coasted to victory on her handicap debut before finishing unplaced at
Group level. Winning chance
3. L’IBANETA – Capable sort who ought to fare better at this level after two failures at Quinté+
level. Warrants respect
4. EBAUCHE – Improving filly who acquitted herself in her first start at this level and should improve.
Will be a factor
5. L’AUTORITE – Lightly raced filly with proven stamina. Has been consistent to this point but has
only a place chance
6. JUWEL – Has nothing noteworthy to his name to warrant consideration and can be ruled out.
Others preferred
7. MASKEN – Proven ineffective in the two starts with headgear fitted, so is hard to make a case
for. Watch for now
8. PEARL DOCTOR – Rediscovered his form back on the flat but has more of a place chance than
a winning one. Outsider

Summary : Winning a handicap by 11 lengths is rare and but this was a feat achieved by
DANSEUSE CELEBRE (2) at Dieppe back in May and, despite a penalty of 6kg, it could pay to
follow her progress as she seems capable of returning to winning ways in this grade. EBAUCHE
(4) is unlikely to remain a maiden for much longer and should have a say here. L’IBANETA (3) and
ST PANTALEON (1) have references at this level and can get into the picture too.

SELECTIONS
DANSEUSE CELEBRE (2) – EBAUCHE (4) – L’IBANETA (3) – ST PANTALEON (1)

R5 – PRIX DE LA VALLEE DE L’AUTOMNE – 1800m (a1 1/8m) – TURF – Condition Race – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 22.000

1. TYGRESS – Runner-up on debut behind a progressive sort and needn’t a great deal to go one
better here. Follow
2. EPOUSTOUFLANTE – Needed her last start after a layoff and, on the form of her two starts last
year, should be competitive
3. UKRAINE – Highly regarded filly who caught the eye when finishing 2nd on debut at Saint-Cloud.
Will be a factor
4. RECOLETA – Finished a pleasing 5th on debut and should improve with the benefit of that
experience. Dark horse
5. MOONDUNE – Finished 3rd on debut last year (behind subsequent winner) and 5th on her
comeback. More to come
6. DEIRA – Would’ve gained plenty from her debut outing but was well beaten (8th) that day. Just
watch for now
7. CALL ME VALENTINE – Has made no impression in either outing so cannot be recommended
here. Others make more appeal
8. BELLONE – Was a well-beaten 8th on debut though is likely to have come on with that
experience. Watch for now
9. VINCA – Improved on her debut 6th to finish 3rd last time and is likely to make further progress.
Has claims

Summary : It is worth noting that André Fabre has preferred this race to another at
ParisLongchamp for TYGRESS (1) and that could prove a winning move. She will, however, be
tested by EPOUSTOUFLANTE (2), who should do better after blowing away the cobwebs with a
much-needed comeback run on her appearance, and likely improver UKRAINE (3) after a
promising (2nd) introduction. MOONDUNE (5) completes the shortlist.

SELECTIONS
TYGRESS (1) – EPOUSTOUFLANTE (2) – UKRAINE (3) – MOONDUNE (5)

R6 – PRIX DE FRESNOY-LA-RIVIERE – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Divised Handicap – Class 4 – Flat – EUR € 16.000

1. HURRICANE LIGHT – Has been off the boil recently so must reaffirm but cannot be discounted
judged on best form. Lurker
2. GOT FROST – Inconsistent but does tend to do well at this track and will benefit from his rider’s
1,5kg allowance
3. TARAHUMARA QUEEN – Has nothing noteworthy to her name for a considerable period now
so can be ruled out. Overlook
4. MOASA – Shown signs of improvement in recent outings so could have a say if confirming that
form. Dark horse
5. ASPHODELE MIA – Continues to blow hot and cold but was a reassuring 3rd last time. Has won
under Stéphane Pasquier
6. MEARAS STYLE – Has finished 6th in her last three outings and is undeniably capable of getting
into the picture. Lurker
7. BOUJOC – Unreliable sort but is quite capable of making his presence felt in a race of this nature.
Dark horse
8. PARISIAN BELLE – Consistent mare with solid form references and in great shape at present.
Should have a role to play
9. KAVAKNEY – Inconsistent but capable sort who did not go unnoticed when finishing 6th here
last time. Has claims
10. PAINT ISLAND – Runner-up in both starts this year and is capable of staking a claim here
despite a wide draw. Respect
11. AL RASSOUL – Arrives in good form after finishing 2nd in three consecutive outings. Ought to
be competitive again
12. FELI CHOP – Has nothing noteworthy to his name to warrant consideration here and can be
ruled out. Overlook
13. EXCLUSIVE BEAUTY – Looked rather ordinary for some time now, so her chances are limited
even at this level. Overlook
14. PIKATSU – Has been struggling for some time now so is highly unlikely to trouble the judge.
Others are preferred
15. ZAMUJA – Long in the tooth now and appears to have lost his way, so is hard to make a case
for here. Overlook
16. TAX EXILE – Nothing noteworthy to his name for a considerable period now so can be ruled
out. Others preferred

Summary : A low-level handicap in which GOT FROST (2), who has proved very efficient at this
track, and PARISIAN BELLE (8) could fight out the finish. ASPHODELE MIA (5), if not too
inconvenienced by this shorter trip, is inconsistent but has the means to get involved. AL RASSOUL
(11) is in great form and capable of having a say too, along with KAVAKNEY (9) an attractive
underdog.

SELECTIONS
GOT FROST (2) – PARISIAN BELLE (8) – ASPHODELE MIA (5) – AL RASSOUL (11)
