  12. BELLE FAUSTINE – Five unplaced runs so far, the latest over 2000m in early June. Can be overlooked

Summary : SALAZAR (1) has been running consistently all year and looks the safest option in this handicap off top-weight. GEMCUTTER (3) has also been in good form this season, she has raced mainly in claimers recently and will need to be at her best to win her first handicap. WHAT ELSE CHOP (5) could be the best each-way option, he was a good second at Strasbourg in May over slightly further than today’s trip, this is his first attempt at 1300m, which should be fine. FLORIDA SPRING (4) can do the best of the remainder.

SELECTIONS                                                                                                                      SALAZAR (1) – GEMCUTTER (3) – WHAT ELSE CHOP (5) – FLORIDA SPRING (4)

  4. RIVER LILLY – Has been 3rd the last two runs, the latter over 2000m at Strasbourg in early June to MOREMI (1). Bold show likely
  5. FULLSTRIP – 4th two runs ago over 2000m at Strasbourg behind MOREMI (1) in mid-June. Place chance

  9. HUMBABA D’AGROSTIS – Out of the frame over hurdles last time, and form on the flat has been regressive since a 2nd over 2500m last September. Hard to recommend

Summary : MARGUNS (7) has run well on his last two runs and this could be a good opportunity to get his first win. The biggest danger could be MOREMI (1) who scored last time at Strasbourg over 2000m and another competitive run can be expected. RIVER LILLY (4) can not be discounted after two good efforts, the latest when third behind MOREMI (1) at Strasbourg last month, she needs a better effort to win but can make her presence felt. FULLSTRIP (5) warrants respect after his last run when fourth in the same race that MOREMI (1) won.

SELECTIONS                                                                                                                    MARGUNS (7) – MOREMI (1) – RIVER LILLY (4) – FULLSTRIP (5)

Summary : JOLYMPA (4) was a good fourth two runs ago over 2500m at Parislongchamp in early June and is the tentative selection ahead of SEKKU (7) who did well when second over 2000m at Lyon Parilly when last seen at the end of June. COSTA EDITA (2) is a winner at this track last year and if running to anywhere near her win at Lyon Parilly in May, then she can be on the premises. TAHLA (3) is still a maiden and might be waiting a bit longer before that first success. She could steal a place position.

SELECTIONS                                                                                                                        JOLYMPA (4) – SEKKU (7) – COSTA EDITA (2) – TAHLA (3)

  13. RIVERWING – Unplaced last time, 2nd before that over 1800m at Dieppe in May. Each-way option
  14. WARRIOR – Unplaced in all three runs this year, the latter over 1400m 10 days ago. Hard to fancy
  15. POLDINA – 2nd over 2000m at Vitteaux in late May when last racing. More needed in a better race

Summary : This is an open handicap with lots of runners out of form. GOLD PLAYER (8) is one that has shaped well on his last two outings and could be the best choice. His second at Dresde (Germany) is hard to evaluate but the run before that was a good effort at Cagnes-Sur-Mer when third, his main danger could be SWEET MASTER (4) who ran a credible race last time over 2000m at Strasbourg in June, he is rarely out of the frame. JOLIENENE (1) has top weight but can be involved at the business end, she has dropped 2kg recently which will be of help. SPEED CHOP (7) could be the best of the remainder.
