Last-start winner HEARTS OF GOLD will be aiming for successive victories when he steps out in the 1400m Curse Reversed Handicap at Ipoh on Sunday.
HEARTS OF GOLD finally broke his maiden tag in a 1600m Class 5 contest here on June 3, easily accounting for subsequent winner, Purple Rain Lady, by almost three lengths. Different riding tactics were adopted at his previous performance when he tried to lead all the way before finishing third over the same trip three weeks prior.
HEARTS OF GOLD has started favorite at each of his three runs this preparation and should prove hard to beat despite the class upgrade this weekend.
Sunny can be the Star of the show
Recent Penang winner SUNNY STAR will have a chance of going back-to-back in the 1400m Barely Legal Handicap at Ipoh on Sunday.
SUNNY STAR resumed from a short break in Penang on April 30 and was slow into stride before producing a quick turn-of-foot with a fast-finishing second over 1200m. The seven-year-old was freshened up and attracted market support when he raced on speed for 0.75-length win over 1400m on June 10.
SUNNY STAR has placed only once from six attempts on the Ipoh circuit but he does appear well suited against a small field third-up this campaign.
