Race Preview

R1 – PRIX DE DOUMY – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Condition Race – Class 1 – Flat – EUR € 38.000

1. WALLY – Concedes weight to all but is ultra-consistent and boasts solid form references. Will
be a factor
2. GOD BLESSING – Finished 7th in his only outing this year but is capable of doing better than
that after a break. Respect
3. WOOZLE – Consistent, lightly raced colt with decent form credentials. More of a place chance
than a winning one
4. MIRSKY – Capitalised on favourable conditions to make a winning reappearance and is capable
of following up here. More to come
5. KILOECHO – Showed signs of improvement last time but must raise his game again to get a
look in here. Outsider
6. PERSIAN ROYAL – Consistent for the most part and dangerous to dismiss in his first start on
French soil. Not taken lightly

Summary : MIRSKY (4) revealed serious potential last year old before suffering a setback but
showed he retains all his ability when making a winning comeback. He should improve for that
outing so is taken to follow up here at the expense of reliable WALLY (1) who has the form and
‘match’ fitness to fight for victory. Given the uncertainty regarding their race readiness, GOD
BLESSING (2) and PERSIAN ROYAL (6) have only minor roles to play.

SELECTIONS
MIRSKY (4) – WALLY (1) – GOD BLESSING (2) – PERSIAN ROYAL (6)

R2 – PRIX DE MAROLLES – 1100m (a5 1/2f) – TURF – Condition Race – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 20.000

1. DAMIEN – Caught the eye when finishing 3rd over this track and trip on debut. Ought to be
competitive here
2. STORMYGO – Failed to confirm the promise of his debut 2nd when only 7th last time but can’t
be written off just yet
3. LA BELLE POETE – Was a promising 4th on debut and improved to finish 3rd at her next start.
Should have more to offer
4. PICANES – Finished a modest 7th on debut but is likely to improve with the benefit of that
experience. Outsider
5. IHOA – Unplaced in two of her three outings so needs to improve to get a look in here. Others
preferred
6. BEST OF LIGHT – Finished 4th on debut and filled that position again last time out. Can improve
to get into the picture
7. QUEEN FLO – Confirmed the promise of her debut 3rd by finishing 2nd last time. Should play a
leading role here
8. YOLLILAL – Runner-up in both starts behind exciting prospects. Needn’t improve a great deal
to go one better
9. GODAKA – Gavin Hernon-trained Goken debutante to be ridden by Hugo Journiac. Best just to
watch for now

Summary : YOLLILAL (8) wouldn’t be winning out of turn having finished 2nd in both of her outings,
so is given the nod here ahead of QUEEN FLO (7) who ought to mount a serious challenge if
making further improvement after finishing 2nd last time. DAMIEN (1) was an encouraging 3rd on
debut over this track and trip, so is likely to join that fight for victory with natural improvement
expected. STORMYGO (2) and LA BELLE POETE (3) complete the shortlist.

SELECTIONS
YOLLILAL (8) – QUEEN FLO (7) – DAMIEN (1) – STORMYGO (2)

R3 – PRIX YACOWLEF – 1000m (a5f) – TURF – Condition Race – Listed – Flat – EUR € 60.000

1. MYCONIAN – Finished a creditable 6th at Royal Ascot recently from an outside gate. Should be
competitive here
2. POUR DOMPTER – Smart colt, finished 2nd on debut before winning next time. Runner-up last
time and has claims again
3. GOGO YUBARI – Amy Murphy-trained Havana Grey debutante to be ridden by Tony Piccone.
Not one to be taken lightly
4. ANTIFONA – Debut winner who wasn’t disgraced in finishing 5th in her most recent outing. Can
get into the picture
5. DAIQUIBERRY – Bounced back from a disappointing previous start to win last time out. Not
incapable of following up
6. SALVA MEA – André Fabre-trained filly who ought to confirm the promise of her debut (3rd).
Sets the standard
7. PARADISIACAL – Speedy filly likely to play a prominent role here, having finished 2nd twice and
4th last time. Respect

Summary : SALVA MEA (6) made an encouraging introduction at Chantilly and ought to improve
with the benefit of that experience, so can open his account here at the expense of DAIQUIBERRY
(5) who had a problem with his equipment during his only poor performance but has since set the
record straight. PARADISIACAL (7) and MYCONIAN (1) have a lot of pace so cannot be
discounted.

SELECTIONS
SALVA MEA (6) – DAIQUIBERRY (5) – PARADISIACAL (7) – MYCONIAN (1)

R4 – PRIX DE LA BARBERY – 2000m (a1 1/4m) – TURF – Divised Handicap – Flat – EUR € 55.000

1. GOGUEN SPAISE – Has shown commendable consistency since Day 1, including his last two
performances at this level. Can get into the picture
2. TAYBET – Didn’t go unnoticed in his first start at this level recently but is probably more effective
on a soft track. Place chance only
3. SEA BREAKER – Rewarded for her consistency with a breakthrough victory last time and could
make further improvement to stake a claim in her first Quinte+
4. CHASING THE SUN – Was conceding a lot of weight to the winner when finishing 2nd last time
and has shown her worth in good conditions races previously. Keep safe
5. OPIANA – Improved to open her account two starts back and then acquitted herself well in her
first Quinté+ outing last time. Looks competitive for race victory
6. MADAME DE SAXE – Won on the PSF early this year but has been found wanting going up in
class since. Dropped in the weights but has it all to do
7. SEE THE LIGHT – Could not do better than 10th in his first Quinté+ outing but did not have the
smoothest passage on that occasion. For lovers of outsiders
8. AXIOME – Runner-up to Ace Impact in his early days but has been somewhat disappointing
since. Could have more to offer in a handicap, so warrants respect
9. I’M A BELIEVER – Won a handicap two starts back and last time proved that he remains
competitive despite going up 2,5kg. Place chance
10. AZKA – Consistent and progressive sort who was only narrowly beaten at this level last time.
Drawn wide but the booking of Christophe Soumillon will aid his cause
11. CHIAREGGIO – Unexposed last-start winner. May lack experience at this level but has room
for improvement so is dangerous to dismiss
12. OAK HILL – Won in style at Argentan last time when beating a useful Wertheimer-owned rival.
Can have a say if confirming that form here
13. GRECIAN BONANZA – Model of consistency and is effective on all types of ground. Has run
well at this level recently and should be competitive again
14. WONDER OF YOU – Dislodged the jockey last time but did impose himself, albeit in a fairly
weak field, prior to that. Not without means but probably for another time
15. KARMINA BELLA – Has been largely disappointing this year but could do better under these
conditions in her peak outing. Outsider
16. ZAHYANA – Not at her best recently but did hold her own in very good races/company during
the winter. Certainly capable of better and could ruffle a few feathers here

Summary : ZAHYANA (16) held her own in very good company late last year, so is certainly
capable of better than the form of her two comeback runs suggest, and it could pay to follow her
progress here off a workable handicap mark. OPIANA (5) has progressed this term and was not
disgraced in her first Quinté+ outing last time so is capable of fighting for victory. AZKA (10) arrives
in good shape at this level and is likely to play another leading role, which could also be said of
GRECIAN BONANZA (13) who has solid form references. AXIOME (8) is a maiden but boasts solid
form credentials and ought to make his presence felt too. CHASING THE SUN (4), with Mickaël
Barzalona, and SEA BREAKER (3) are two useful strings to the bow of Henri-Alex Pantall.

SELECTIONS
ZAHYANA (16) – OPIANA (5) – AZKA (10) – GRECIAN BONANZA (13)

R5 – PRIX KISTENA – 1200m (a6f) – TURF – Condition Race – Listed – Flat – EUR € 55.000

1. TALENTUOSA – Smart Italian filly with consistent form credentials and solid references. Is
dangerous to dismiss
2. VICIOUS HARRY – Missed out narrowly (2nd) in a similar at Chantilly last time. Will have a say
with a repeat of that effort
3. DEMAIN – Lost his unbeaten record when finishing 3rd at this level last time. Has more to offer
and can do better
4. PROVERB – Open to improvement after a much-needed comeback run (7th). Capable of better
so not taken lightly
5. TORIVEGA – Out of sorts at present, finishing unplaced in both outings this year so must reaffirm.
Others preferred
6. ZOOM – Was an encouraging 3rd on her reappearance but failed to confirm that form last time.
Watch for now
7. ART OF MAGIC – Progressive filly with consecutive recent victories to her name. Has more to
do pitched into this grade
8. KIMI ORENDA – Has progressed through the ranks and finished a creditable 4th at this level last
time. Place chance
9. MOON RAY – Group III winner as a two-year-old and returned to form last time after a comeback
outing. Shortlisted
10. EXXTRA – Finished behind two of the principals when 4th at Chantilly last time. Could get into
the picture

Summary : In this Listed event, it could pay to side with MOON RAY (9) who is the only one in this
field to have won at Group level as a two-year-old last season and showed signs of a return to that
form last time out. She will, however, be seriously tested by the likes of VICIOUS HARRY (2) and
DEMAIN (3, who finished in that order at Chantilly recently, as well as top-weight TALENTUOSA
(1) who arrives from Italy with legitimate ambitions and solid form credentials.

SELECTIONS
MOON RAY (9) – VICIOUS HARRY (2) – DEMAIN (3) – TALENTUOSA (1)

R6 – PRIX DE LA DORETTE – 2000m (a1 1/4m) – TURF – Divised Handicap – Flat – EUR € 28.000

1. BLACK HILLS – Nothing noteworthy to her name for a considerable period now, so can be ruled
out. Others preferred
2. TREIZIEME MOIS – Has rediscovered his form recently and confirmed as much by finishing 3rd
last time. Not taken lightly
3. ISOLA DI CAPRI – Consistent filly with solid form references. Ought to be competitive here
pitched into a handicap
4. PANGAEA – Consistent and in good form. Missed out narrowly at this level last time but could
well make amends
5. RIDIPINTURA – Inconsistent but usually finishes in the mix on a going day. Hard to trust but as
hard to rule out
6. BREVANDS – Disappointing last run but has shown sufficient means to be competitive at this
level. Dark horse
7. ALICANTO – Has blown hot and cold this year but remains capable of making his presence felt
in a race like this
8. SAKARI – Imposed himself at this level in the provinces and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t
go well again
9. ARMENTIERES – Unreliable sort but is quite capable of staking a claim in a race of this nature.
Dangerous to dismiss
10. VENES – Confirmed recent improvement by winning last time out. Marie Velon’s 1,5kg
allowance aids his cause
11. EMOZIONE – Has been struggling for some time now so is unlikely to trouble the judge here.
Others preferred
12. BY EXETER – Has nothing noteworthy to his name in two starts this year to warrant
consideration. Can be ruled out
13. EYGALIERES – Showed signs of improvement last time but must raise his game to even get a
look in here. Outsider

Summary : Beaten by just a head in his first appearance at this level, PANGAEA (4) ought to make
amends here and achieve his goal of victory. Improving SAKARI (8) and ISOLA DI CAPRI (3), who
has beaten the selection before, are likely to pose a threat along with TREIZIEME MOIS (2) who
has rediscovered his form recently. ALICANTO (7) is also capable of staking a claim.

SELECTIONS
PANGAEA (4) – SAKARI (8) – ISOLA DI CAPRI (3) – TREIZIEME MOIS (2)
