Race Preview

R1 – PRIX DE BLERANCOURT – 2800m (a1 3/4m) – TURF – Condition Race – Class 2 – Flat – EUR € 28.000

1. ASTAIRE – Won on only run so far at Dieppe over 3000m in early May. Needs more but can not
be overlooked
2. NUI – Won on only run over 3000m at Wissembourg on May 1st. Needs plenty of improvement
to have a say
3. SEVENNA’S KNIGHT – Looks the second string for the Fabre team. Three improving efforts of
late, the latter when 2nd over 2400m at Saint-Cloud in late April. In the mix
4. L’ACAJOU – Nice run when 3rd in a Class 1 race over 2200m at Lyon Parilly on April 18th. Live
chance
5. EASTERN STAR – Won a claimer at Le Mans over 2300m on May 24th. Upped in class and
might find a few too good
6. KISS ME DU BOURG – Won at Le Mans over 2300m in April on debut. Can follow up and remain
unbeaten
7. COVER POINT – Back on the level after a run over hurdles last time, won on the flat on debut
over 2900m in mid-April. Others preferred

Summary : A good winner on her only run so far at Le Mans KISS ME DU BOURG (6) can follow
up and remain unbeaten, the second and third to her at Le Mans have won since. L’ACAJOU (4)
is a big threat as the son of Frankel looks as though he has plenty more to come, he ran well in a
Class 1 race at Lyon Parilly when third on his latest outing. SEVENNA’S KNIGHT (3) has been
improving and was a respectable second on his latest outing, he is not totally out of this. ASTAIRE
(1) won well on his only run so far and looks best of the remainder.

SELECTIONS
KISS ME DU BOURG (6) – L’ACAJOU (4) – SEVENNA’S KNIGHT (3) – ASTAIRE (1)

R2 – PRIX D’AIGUISY (CHMPT PARIS TURF DES APPRENTIS & JEUNES JOCKEYS) – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Claiming – Flat – EUR € 23.000

1. RISING UP – Nice 2nd in a claimer over 1400m two runs back at Saint-Cloud on May 5th. Can
place
2. IL RITORNO – Won a claimer two starts ago over 1100m on May 3rd at Fontainebleau. Might
find a few too good
3. BLINDMAN – Nice run two starts ago over 1600m in a handicap when a close 5th. Drops in
grade and can get off the mark
4. ROSIE ROCKET – Fair 4th three runs back over 1100m at Chantilly in a Class 2 race in March.
Outside place chance
5. MARKSWOMAN – Drops in class and was a fair 5th two runs back over 1400m at Le Mans in a
Class 3 race. Ought to be thereabouts
6. SHAKSTAR FAL – Won on the last run over 1600m in November at Lyon Parilly. Might need the
race after a 7 months absence
7. MAIMOUNA – 2nd over 1600m on her most recent outing on May 22nd in a claimer. In the mix
8. MALLORCA SUN – 4th two runs back over 1600m at Angers in a similar race on May 11th. Not
to be discounted
9. KING MOLLENKOTT – Fair 4th on the last run in a claimer over 1400m on May 26th. Can be
competitive

Summary : BLINDMAN (3) drops to a claimer to try to get off the mark, he is more than capable of
winning. A good run in a handicap at Chantilly two starts ago when he was not beaten far off the
winner was a pleasing effort as a few winners have evolved from that race. MAIMOUNA (7) was a
good second in a claimer on her last outing, she can be involved at the business end.
MARKSWOMAN (5) has been running in better races and has every hope that she can make the
frame. KING MOLLENKOTT (9) needs a good deal more than he showed on his last run to win,
but he can be on the premises.

SELECTIONS
BLINDMAN (3) – MAIMOUNA (7) – MARKSWOMAN (5) – KING MOLLENKOTT (9)

R3 – PRIX DU BRAS D’OR – 2400m (a1 1/2m) – TURF – Condition Race – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 27.000

1. SHALKHAR – Nice 3rd on debut, a bit below par on the last run when 5th at Chantilly over 2400m
on May 19th. Bold show likely
2. BARBATE – Nice 2nd over 2400m at Chantilly on May 19th. Looks like the one to beat under
the Soumillon guide
3. ZULU WARRIOR – Ran well when 4th over 2000m in late April at Parislongchamp. Ought to
have a say
4. EL PRO – Decent 2nd over 2400m at Lyon Parilly in May on a most recent outing. Others rate
higher
5. AIR KISS – Unplaced on both runs so far, the latter over 2400m on May 13th. Makes limited
appeal
6. ELLERTON – Refused to race on the last run. A good 2nd before his last misdemeanor at Nancy
over 2500m. Capable if in the mood

Summary : The mount of Christophe Soumillon BARBATE (2) looks like the best option. He was
a good second at Chantilly over 2400m and looks a progressive type. ZULU WARRIOR (3) has
plenty of racecourse experience and although only fourth on his last run at Parislongchamp in late
April, he was not beaten far, he can pose the biggest danger. SHALKHAR (1) can have a say if
running to his debut effort when third at Chantlly. ELLERTON (6) has plenty of ability, but refused
to race on his last run. If in the right frame of mind he is capable of winning.

SELECTIONS
BARBATE (2) – ZULU WARRIOR (3) – SHALKHAR (1) – ELLERTON (6)

R4 – PRIX DES HAMADRYADES – 2400m (a1 1/2m) – TURF – Condition Race – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 27.000

2. VISILANDA – Out of the frame on only run over 2000m at Chantilly in April. Looks safely held
3. QUEEN ZARA – Decent 4th at Saint-Cloud on the only run so far when not beaten far. Can make
presence felt

chance
5. MARELIE – Out of the frame on only run over 1800m at Dieppe. Looks safely held
6. ISIS D’INOR – Three unplaced runs, the latter over 2400m last month. Others make more appeal
7. PISCOPIA – 3rd two runs back over 2000m in late April at Parislongchamp. Can play a role
8. BLACK HILLS – Nice 4th two runs back over 1900m at Deauville in February, Ought to be in the

Needs to get back on track
10. ALVALDI – Good 2nd on debut at Angers last month over 2300m. Can improve and looks the
one to beat
11. KOZACHKA – Failed to feature on only run over 2100m in mid-April. Makes limited appeal
12. THE LAST WALTZ – Did well when 4th on the last run over 2400m in late-April. In the mix

Summary : ALVALDI (10) was a promising second on debut at Angers last month and has a good
opportunity of getting off the mark in this. She has some strong rivals in QUEEN ZARA (3) who did
well when fourth at Saint-Cloud, she can make her rivals work. THE LAST WALTZ (12) is another
that warrants plenty of respect after a nice run at Saint-Cloud in what could be a decent maiden in
late April. BLACK HILLS (8) has strong claims of making the frame and looks the best of the
remainder.

SELECTIONS
ALVALDI (10) – QUEEN ZARA (3) – THE LAST WALTZ (12) – BLACK HILLS (8)

over 1500m in October. Form choice
2. NOSHOWONFRIDAY – Nice 4th two runs back over 1600m on April 1st at Saint-Cloud. Can
make the frame
3. FEELING GREAT – Has shown very little in four runs this year. Best watched for the time being

shake-up
5. BIG DRIFT – Unplaced on last two runs, 4th before that over 1500m in January. Vulnerable
6. BELLATOR – 3rd over 1600m on last run in mid-May at Prague(CZE). Looks out of his depth
7. LANCILLOTTO – Showed limited ability in four runs in the UK last year, the latter over 1750m.
Others preferred
8. WALDZAUBER – 2nd at Baden Baden on the last run over 1600m in May. Among the top three
chances
9. BIG STAR – 4th over 1700m on the last run on May 22nd. Will be fit and can play a leading role
10. JELIEL – 5th in a Class 1 on the last run over 1400m in March. Has a bit of talent but others
rate higher
11. RAMAZAN – Newcomer by Lope De Vega, the dam never ran. From a good yard, can feature
on debut

Summary : NIGHT OF LIGHTNING (1) was second to First Minister (Group 3 winner) on debut at
Saint-Cloud last October, with plenty of winners coming from that maiden. He should be ready for
his return. BIG STAR (9) rates a danger and will not lack for any fitness worries after a fair run
when fourth at Marseille Borely last month. QUEST FOR LOVE (4) ran with promise on his only
run at Saint-Cloud last month, he looks the each-way angle. WALDZAUBER (8) has the experience
and can make the frame.

SELECTIONS
NIGHT OF LIGHTNING (1) – BIG STAR (9) – QUEST FOR LOVE (4) – WALDZAUBER (8)

R6 – PRIX DE FRANCIERES – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Condition Race – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 27.000

1. KAKHOVKA – 5th over 1400m last month at Saint-Cloud. Can come forward for that run and get
her first win
2. PROPHETIE – Can progress from only run when unplaced over 1600m on May 12th. Place
claims
3. KETAMINE BAILLY – Out of the frame on latest two runs, 2nd before those over 1900m in
February. Vulnerable
4. ARYA – Did not feature on only run over 1100m in late May. Might find a few of these too good
5. ARISTOCRAZY – Did well when 2nd over 1600m on debut in mid-May. Plenty of progress
expected and is a live player
6. PEANUT ROYALE – 5th on only run over 1100m on May 21st. Can improve plenty for the step
up in distance
7. GYPSY GOLD – Nice 2nd over 1500m in November last year on the second start. Will be ready
from a winter off. In the mix
8. ELZADA – Out of the frame on the last run over 1400m in mid-April. Others look a better option

run off a break
10. ZANONA – Newcomer by Siyouni, the dam was a Listed winner. Graffard trained with a nice
profile. Nice run expected

Summary : KAKHOVKA (1) will strip fitter for a recent run when a close-up fifth at Saint-Cloud over
1400m last month. She is the selection. ARISTOCRAZY (5) can step forward from a promising
second on her debut and is sure to be involved. GYPSY GOLD (7) has had a nice bit of time away
from the racecourse but should be fit enough to have a say in proceedings. PROPHETIE (2) looked
in need of the run on debut, the Fabre-trained filly can be more streetwise today and a better run
can be anticipated.

SELECTIONS
KAKHOVKA (1) – ARISTOCRAZY (5) – GYPSY GOLD (7) – PROPHETIE (2)
