Race Preview

R1 – PRIX DE GILOCOURT – 1400m (a7f) – TURF – Claiming – Flat – EUR € 19.000

1. MALLORCA SUN – Finished an encouraging 4th in a claiming race for the first time on his
reappearance. Should have more to offer
2. GRAND FETARD – Won a similar contest at Le Mans and subsequently finished 3rd in a
handicap at Angers. Has leading claims
3. TOURGEVILLE – Has resumed this year with consecutive 5th-place finishes and begins at
claiming level with legitimate ambitions. Include
4. BALSAMAND – Unplaced in back-to-back outings recently but should have more to offer
dropping in class now. Not discounted
5. KING MOLLENKOTT – Reassuring 3rd in his last start and could get a look in here if
confirming that improvement
6. KHABESA – Made no impression in two handicap races after winning a maiden contest but
ought to fare better in this grade
7. PIANO MAN – Unreliable sort but is quite capable of staking a claim in a race of this nature on
his best form
8. URAL – Seldom far off the mark and will benefit from his rider’s 2,5kg allowance but has only a
place chance
9. SUPREME – Showed signs of improvement when 4th in a similar contest last time.
Confirmation required
10. VICTORY OVER LIFE – Nothing noteworthy to her name for a considerable period now so
can be ruled out here
11. ALIGHT – Has looked distinctly ordinary to this point, so her chances are limited even at this
level

Summary : GRAND FETARD (2) has been in good form of late and won at this level two starts
back before finishing 3rd in a handicap last time, so is a serious candidate for success. He gets
the nod ahead of TOURGEVILLE (3), with two comeback runs under her belt, and KHABESA (6)
who are new to this grade. MALLORCA SUN (1) encouraged on his comeback when 4th in a
similar contest and has claims too.

SELECTIONS
GRAND FETARD (2) – TOURGEVILLE (3) – KHABESA (6) – MALLORCA SUN (1)

R2 – PRIX DES TAMBOURAINES – 1800m (a1 1/8m) – TURF – Condition Race – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 27.000

1. BESHTANI – Didn’t go unnoticed on debut last year is one to note on his return after gelding.
Keep safe
2. MADIGAN – Showed promise when 3rd on debut and with natural improvement should have a
say again
3. REBORN – Unplaced in both starts but does have scope to improve after finishing 6th on his
comeback. Watch for now
4. BLINDMAN – Good 5th in a Quinte+ last time and should feature prominently in this grade on
the strength of that form. One to beat
5. SADALBARI – Has nothing noteworthy to his name to warrant inclusion/consideration. Others
preferred
6. CAMERON – Has been holding his form and was last seen finishing 4th over a longer trip. Will
be involved
7. GALLANT DEED – Disappointed at Dieppe last time but would be competitive on earlier form.
Worth another chance
8. MY TAKY TAKY LP – Has looked rather ordinary to this point and needs to take a big step
forward to get a look in
9. MAGIC LORD – Not disgraced in finishing 6th on debut and would have gained plenty from that
experience. Can do better
10. AL QADAM – Amy Murphy-trained Al Wukair colt on debut. One to note with Cristian
Demouro engaged

Summary : BLINDMAN (4) finished a commendable 5th in a Quinte+ contest last time and, on
the strength of that form, is taken to build on that experience to claim a first success here.
MADIGAN (2) should pose a threat if confirming the promise of his debut 3rd. CAMERON (6) was
4th over 2400m recently but ought to be more at home over this trip, so could make his presence
felt too. GALLANT DEED (7) disappointed last time but is better than that run suggests, so cannot
be discounted either.

SELECTIONS
BLINDMAN (4) – MADIGAN (2) – CAMERON (6) – GALLANT DEED (7)

a say if confirming that improvement
5. INATTENDU – Inconsistent but capable veteran who has won twice at this course. Unreliable
but not taken lightly
6. DREAM FOR ALL – Unreliable sort but quite capable of staking a claim in a race of this nature
if bouncing back from a disappointing last start. Respect
7. COME SAY HI – Has struggled to regain any form/consistency for some time, so unlikely to
trouble the judge
8. LE SICILIEN – Returned as a gelding after a long absence when 7th on his reappearance
recently but didn’t go unnoticed on that occasion. Can do better
9. AUENWOLF – Improved on his comeback 6th to win consecutive claiming races recently
before changing hands. Has claims again for new connections
10. SELKET – Unreliable but undeniably capable mare who benefits from rider’s 1,5kg allowance.

11. PLEIONE – Has looked distinctly ordinary for some time, so her chances are limited even at
this level

Summary : CHOP VAL (1) is in good form and proven at this level, so sets the standard here. LE
SICILIAN (8) made a quiet reappearance in his first start as a gelding but should have more to
offer with the benefit of that outing and is capable of posing a threat with improved fitness on his
side. INATTENDU (5) is inconsistent but has a good turn of foot, which should stand him in good
stead in this grade/company. He completes the shortlist along with AUENWOLF (9) who has
excelled at this level.

SELECTIONS
CHOP VAL (1) – LE SICILIEN (8) – INATTENDU (5) – AUENWOLF (9)

scope to improve. Watch

consistency. One to beat
3. EGYPTIENNE – Nothing noteworthy to her name after 2 unplaced efforts so can be ruled out.
Watch for now
4. TISSEUSE DE REVES – Not given a hard time when finishing unplaced on debut and
improvement shown here is not beyond the realms of possibility
5. CHILD OF THE MOON – Caught the eye on her reappearance when finishing 4th at Dieppe
recently. High on shortlist
6. MORGANA – Improving with every start and should be competitive again after finishing 2nd
last time. Include
7. TERTULIANE BLOOM – Finished an encouraging 3rd on debut in a good field and was 2nd on
the PSF when last seen in November. Has claims on her reappearance
8. CHANEL GOLD – Finished a pleasing 3rd on debut but failed to confirm that promise when
only 9th last time. Not written off just yet

keeping an eye
12. VAUX LE VICOMTE – Maurizio Guarnieri-trained Lightning Spear debutante. One to note,
watch betting for clues

Summary : Consistent TERREDEGUERRE (2) deserves to get her head in front and should
terminate her subscription to the 2nd box by finally experiencing the joys of success. She will,
however, have to pull out all the stops to thwart the challenge of likely improver CHILD OF THE
MOON (5) who will be opening her account sooner rather than later. Improving MORGANA (6)
needs no invitation to join the fight for victory, which also applies to returning TERTULIANE
BLOOM (7) who showed promise in both starts last year. Good race!

SELECTIONS
TERREDEGUERRE (2) – CHILD OF THE MOON (5) – MORGANA (6) – TERTULIANE
BLOOM (7)

1,5kg off. Others preferred

be right in the firing line if confirming that improvement here. TOP GLORY (1) shoulders topweight 60kg but also has the means to fight for victory in this handicap. ORPANAMA DAVIS (11)
is competitive at this level and ought to make his presence felt if building on the improvement of
his last start. Like that rival, KAVAKNEY (10) and THE FIRST LADY (12) also finished 4th last
time and could get into the picture too.

SELECTIONS
ANGEL DUST (8) – TOP GLORY (1) – ORPANAMA DAVIS (11) – KAVAKNEY (10)
