Race Preview

R1 – PRIX DE THOIRY – 1400m (a7f) – TURF – Claiming – Flat – EUR € 23.000

1. RISING UP – Highest-rated runner in the race and drops into a claiming race for the first time
under a rider who takes off 1,5kg. Can play a role here
2. IRISHKAMAYA – Non partante
3. HOTENTICA – Won on debut but finished a well-beaten 5th of 5 last time. Open to improvement
so could do better here
4. KAMINO – Not at his best recently but is capable of better, especially at this level after finishing
2nd in his only start in this grade. Ought to have a say with 1,5kg off the back
5. BO LYWOOD – Unreliable sort but is quite capable of staking a claim in a race like this. Can get
into the picture
6. BLACK PAWS – Versatile sort, consistent for the most part but is probably better suited to this
distance and on the turf. One to beat at this level

Summary : BLACK PAWS (6) has not been at his best in a Listed race on the PSF and over 1200m
on the turf recently but, on the evidence of his most recent outing, could bounce back to winning
ways here with this step up in trip and drop in grade likely to suit. KAMINO (4) finished 2nd in his
only start at this level and should fare better here after a couple of indifferent recent efforts. RISING
UP (1) is the highest-rated runner in the race and will benefit from his rider’s 1,5kg claim, so ought
to be competitive in his first outing at this level. BO LYWOOD (5) appeals most of the remainder.

SELECTIONS
BLACK PAWS (6) – KAMINO (4) – RISING UP (1) – BO LYWOOD (5)

R2 – PRIX ALEC CARTER – 2000m (a1 1/4m) – TURF – Claiming – Flat – EUR € 19.000

1. LEWIS CHOP – Has looked distinctly ordinary in each of his 3 starts and will need to improve
even at this to get a look in
2. KANZA – Made no impression in a handicap last time but did show early promise so ought to
bounce back in this grade. One to beat
3. LIDISBARN – Consistent performer in this class on both the PSF and on the turf so should be
competitive. Has a role to play
4. MORE MAGIC – Unplaced in both starts but is open to improvement in a claiming race for the
first time. Outsider
5. KLINGELPUETZ – Makes his first start on French soil and in a claiming race with legitimate
ambitions. Can have a say
6. QUEEN REGINE – Has been struggling for some time but could show more at this level. Look
for improvement
7. BULSARA – Mathieu Boutin-trained Sommerabend debutante to be ridden by Camille Laude
who takes 3,5kg off
8. DREAM WUKAIR – Showed signs of a return to form in this grade last time and has dropped
1kg in the weights, so can get into the picture here
9. SPIRIT CUTTER – Poor recent form on both surfaces at this level and in handicaps which does
not augur well for her chances here. Overlook

Summary : KANZA (2) was found wanting in a handicap last time but should have the measure of
these rivals on the promise she showed in all 3 of her previous outings. KLINGELPUETZ (5) has
hinted at ability in 3 starts across the Rhine and could give cheek to the selection, along with
DREAM WUKAIR (8) and LIDISBARN (4) who have the form and experience to make their
presence felt too.

SELECTIONS
KANZA (2) – KLINGELPUETZ (5) – DREAM WUKAIR (8) – LIDISBARN (3)

R3 – PRIX NASRULLAH – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Condition Race – Class 2 – Flat – EUR € 28.000

1. CAWDOR – Convincing winner on debut, beating a subsequent next-start scorer. Looks the
horse to beat with improvement expected
2. IFACH – Finished 2nd on debut then won his next 2 starts during a promising two-year-old
campaign. Was 4th on the PSF on his return and could have more to offer
3. MR MOLIERE – Winner on debut and 4th in a Listed race on the PSF before finishing unplaced
on the turf last time. Capable of better
4. GRAND TRAVERSE – Debut winner who held his own in good company when finishing 3rd last
time. Should have a role to play
5. ENDS OF THE EARTH – Made a winning debut on the PSF last year but has failed to build on
that promise in 2 starts this season. Must reaffirm
6. KIEVSKY – Won on the PSF in his second start and finished an encouraging 3rd on his
reappearance last month. Ought to improve
7. SOSINO – Showed promise last season and has built on that in 2 starts this term. Has solid form
references, should have a role to play here

Summary : CAWDOR (1) was an impressive winner on debut and had that form franked by the
runner-up who next time out, so is likely to remain unbeaten with any improvement. GRAND
TRAVERSE (4) made a winning debut too before following up with a good 3rd at Saint-Cloud last
time, and on that form should fight for victory. SOSINO (7) is a promising colt in his own right and
has both the form and experience to get involved. MR MOLIERE (3) has run his best races on the
fibresand but could get into the picture nonetheless.

SELECTIONS
CAWDOR (1) – GRAND TRAVERSE (4) – SOSINO (7) – MR MOLIERE (3)

R4 – PRIX DU VESINET – 2000m (a1 1/4m) – TURF – Claiming – Class 3 – Flat – EUR € 19.000

1. ROYAUMONT – Enjoying a new lease on life at this level recently and arrives here following a
last-start victory in this grade at Chantilly. Has a role to play with 3,5kg off the back
2. HAVOC – Bounced back to winning ways last time and could follow up with a resultant 2,5kg
penalty offset by his rider’s 2,5kg claim. One to beat
3. NOT SO SILLY – Unreliable sort but is quite capable of staking a claim here on these revised
weight terms. Dark horse
4. HUNTBA – Has won twice and finished 2nd twice in his last 4 starts at this level. Reassuring 2nd
last time and in similar form could get into the picture
5. BOOGIE – Has struggled for form and consistency on both the flat and over hurdles. Could do
better dropped in class
6. NORTH HUNTER – Well-traveled, consistent veteran who is proven in this class. Has dropped
slightly in the weights so ought to be competitive
7. GIANNIS UGO – Georgios Alimpinisis-trained Tatheer colt who will be ridden on by Benjamin
Marie. Watch for now
8. ENISSEY – Consistent German veteran who has been absent since December but runs well
fresh. Could surprise

Summary : Several chances here but it could pay to follow last-start winner HAVOC (2) whose
2,5kg penalty is negated by his rider’s 2,5kg claim. Veteran NORTH HUNTER (6) has not won on
French soil since 2019 but arrives with good recent form at this level to his name, so should take
an active part at the finish. NOT SO SILLY (3) was beaten by in-form ROYAUMONT (1) in a similar
contest last time but is weighted to turn the tables on 6kg better terms. Both can make their
presence felt here along with returning ENISSEY (8) and HUNTBA (4) after an improved last start.

SELECTIONS
HAVOC (2) – NORTH HUNTER (6) – NOT SO SILLY (3) – ROYAUMONT (1)

R5 – PRIX DES GLYCINES – 2000m (a1 1/4m) – TURF – Condition Race – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 21.000

1. RICHARD HORNIG – Did not feature over 2600m at this track 8 days ago. Drop-in trip of 600m.
Others appeal more
2. KIERO REEL – Unplaced over 1600m at Lyon Parilly in mid-April. Looks unlikely to trouble some
of these
3. WAY TO MARSEILLE – Was 4th behind SIR CALLISTO over 2000m last month. Needs to find
more but not dismissed
4. SIR CALLISTO – A decent 2nd on his only run at this track over 2000m in mid-April. Can improve
on that. Player
5. FIQUEFLEUR – Not involved over 2100m last month at this track. Looks opposable
6. CHARM OF LOVE – Unplaced over 2100m at this venue last month. Needs a good deal of
progress to feature
7. KALORIZIKI – A 3rd place effort over 2100m at this track in mid-April was credible. Should be
involved
8. UNION SQUARE – 4th at Toulouse over 2100m on 4th April. Has plenty of talent and can once
again be in the mix
9. SKATHI – Unplaced at Chantilly over 1600m in November. Can improve from that over the 400m
extra. Consider
10. RAVIOLI – Good 3rd on debut at Salon Provence over 2000m last month. Can progress and
has strong claims

Summary : RAVIOLI (10) should take a lot from her third-place debut at Salon Provence and her
astute trainer Reynier is excellent with fillies, she looks the one to side with. UNION SQUARE (8)
has had a few chances and could well be found out again, although she can not be overlooked.
SIR CALLISTO (4) ran really well at this track when second and is the stable companion of RAVIOLI
(10). He is a lively danger. WAY TO MARSEILLE (3) finished behind SIR CALLISTO (4) when they
met here last month and will find it hard to turn the tables.

SELECTIONS
RAVIOLI (10) – UNION SQUARE (8) – SIR CALLISTO (4) – WAY TO MARSEILLE (3)

R6 – PRIX NOIR ET OR – 1400m (a7f) – TURF – Condition Race – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 27.000

1. UNDER THE OPEN SKY – Has only run on the PSF and was a disappointing 10th last time but
is open to improvement on the turf. Not discounted
2. DARIYM – Finished 6th on his reappearance after a promising 3rd on debut last year and should
have more to offer. Follow
3. CELTIC ARYAAN – Showed signs of improvement in his last start at Nantes and will need to
confirm to plat a role here
4. NAVAL ACADEMY – Runner-up on his seasonal comeback and should have a role to play if
confirming that improvement. Include
5. ALIJAN MOON – Showed signs of improvement in his last start after a modest comeback and
could get a look in here if making further progress
6. LE FREINAY – Finished a modest 8th on debut over 1800m last season. Ought to have improved
over the winter but will need to do so get involved on his return
7. KIZMAMBO – Showed a fair degree of ability and consistency prior to his last start, so remains
capable of better. Worth another chance
8. LEMON ZEST – Open to improvement after finishing a well-beaten 5th of 6 on debut over this
trip. Watch for now
9. CASE MONEY – Cristian Demuro rides this Showcasing colt on debut for Alessandro & Giuseppe
Botti. One to note

Summary : DARIYM (2) looked a winner in waiting after a promising debut 3rd on the PSF last
year. He finished 6th on that surface in his comeback outing but could have more to offer on the
turf with improved fitness on his side. NAVAL ACADEMY (4) was 2nd on his reappearance and
ought to get involved again with KIZMAMBO (7) who has the form and experience to play a leading
role too. Don’t discount UNDER THE OPEN SKY (1) who could also have more to give in his first
run on turf.

SELECTIONS
DARIYM (2) – NAVAL ACADEMY (4) – KIZMAMBO (7) – UNDER THE OPEN SKY (1)

R7 – PRIX DE VIEILLE CHAPELLE – 2100m (a1 5/16m) – TURF – Condition Race – Class 2 – Flat – EUR € 22.000

1. PACIFIC BOY – Reliable and a decent 2nd at this track in a Class 1 race over 2000m last month.
Can go one better in this
2. LODOVICO – Can bounce back to better form after a 4th place run over 1800m in a Class 2 on
11th April. Key chance
3. WUKHANN – Won at Salon Provence over 1800m last month. Needs more but can not be
overlooked
4. ROUGE – Unplaced on latest start. Won at Pau in January over 2000m on the PSF. Others rate
higher
5. AVERSA – A fair 4th over 1700m at this track 8 days ago. A few rivals make more appeal
6. ROUGHSHOD – Won on her only start to date at Salon Provence over 2000m in early April. Bold
show likely
7. MAYLIN – Won at Chantilly over 1900m on the PSF in February. Will be fit from a 9-week
absence. Looks competitive

Summary : Plenty to like about the run of PACIFIC BOY (1) when second here over 2000m on
13th April. He is very honest and can serve it up to today’s rivals. LODOVICO (2) was a shade
disappointing when he was fourth last month, but holds claims if running to his best form.
ROUGHSHOD (6) was a 1L winner on her only start last month at Salon Provence and with normal
progression she can surely be in the mix. MAYLIN (7) is definitely worth a mention and can once
again be involved at the business end.

SELECTIONS
PACIFIC BOY (1) – LODOVICO (2) – ROUGHSHOD (6) – MAYLIN (7)

R8 – PRIX LUTH ENCHANTEE – 1400m (a7f) – TURF – Condition Race – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 27.000

1. KAKHOVKA – Built on the promise of her debut 4th with an improved 2nd on the PSF last year.
Another open to improvement on her return
2. ZINDERELLA – Finished a pleasing 4th on debut and would’ve strengthened/improved over the
winter. Can have a say on her reappearance
3. BEAUTIFUL ERA – Disappointing last start after an encouraging debut 3rd. Has scope to do
better so cannot be written off just yet
4. CACIOTTA – Finished a pleasing 4th on debut and is open to improvement with the benefit of
that outing. Place chance
5. BUTTE ROUGE – Not disgraced on debut when 8th of 13 against more experienced rivals and
is likely to have gained plenty from experience. Value play
6. BEHATI – Encouraging 2nd on her reappearance and would’ve tightened up for that comeback
outing. Could have a role to play
7. NIGHTCALL – Improved with the benefit of experience to finish 3rd last time out. Open to further
progress on her return
8. PERCUSSION – Made good improvement from start 1 to start 2 and with further progress could
get into the picture
9. HEY CHARLIE – Made no impression when unplaced on debut and will need a big step forward
on that run to have a say here. Watch for now
10. SUNY – Unplaced in both outings over sprint distances so will need to improve stepping in trip
to get a look in here. Watch for now
11. JIEPIES MELODY – Finished an improved 2nd in her last start at Nantes and will need to
confirm at that improvement to play a role in this
12. NOUR AYA – Newcomer to make note of, this filly by Raven’s Pass debutante will be ridden by
Ludovic Boisseau

experienced rivals and would’ve çome on for that experience, so it could pay to follow her progress
here. BEHATI (6) improved with the benefit of experience to finish 2nd on her reappearance and
ought to fight for victory with further progress. NIGHTCALL (7) finished 3rd last time and could have
more to offer on her return so warrants respect, as does ZINDERELLA (2) who caught the eye on
debut last year and is open to improvement on her reappearance.

SELECTIONS
BUTTE ROUGE (5) – BEHATI (6) – NIGHTCALL (7) – ZINDERELLA (2)
