Race Preview

R1 – PRIX DE VAUDRANPONT – 1800m (a1 1/8m) – TURF – Handicap – Class 3 – Flat – EUR € 30.000

1. MISS BELIEVE – Won at Salon Provence over 1800m on 5th April. Has been in good form
recently and is sure to be on the premises.
2. CAP SAN ROMAN – Unplaced in a Listed Race when last seen in October. A winner over 2200m
at Longchamp in September. Will be fit for return run.
3. WILD SWEETHEART – Has four unplaced runs recently although a better effort when 2nd in
December over 2000m at Marseille-Pont-Vivaux. Needs to get back on track.
4. KIMINA – A recent 4th at Longchamp over 1850m 16 days ago was encouraging. Can play a
leading role.
5. CREATIVE – A winner three outings ago at Chantilly over 2100m in March. The slight drop in
trip today should not be an issue. Key chance.
6. PINGO – Won at this venue over course and distance on the latest outing on 20th March, has a
2kg rise but could cope with that. Not to be dismissed at this track.
7. TINETTE – Two unplaced runs so far in 2023. Seems to be out of form since winning over 2200m
last July. Happy to watch.
8. CORDEY ROSE – Out of the frame on the latest outing, but a nice run when 2nd at Deauville in
January on the all-weather. Merits consideration.
9. ELUSIVE NELSON – A course and distance winner last year. First outing of 2023 and could
improve for the run.
10. HENOUVILLE – Unplaced on the latest two runs, one this year. A good 2nd at Longchamp last
October over 1600m. Player.
11. IN PARADISE – A few unplaced runs of late, but a 4th place effort at Chantilly over 2700m in
November was better. Drop in trip today may enhance performance.
12. ANISTOU – A first try in a handicap. The most recent outing was over 1500m in January, when
out of the frame. Others preferred.
13. EARLY SURPRISE – A couple of below-par runs of late. 3rd at Chantilly over 1900m in February
was better. Others look a better option.

Summary : In a very open handicap, the best option could be CREATIVE (5) who won at Chantilly
over 300m further in March on the all-weather, the slight drop in trip today should not be an issue.
CAP SAN ROMAN (2) should be ready for her first outing of the year and she is versatile regarding
her best trip, having won over 2200m at Longchamp in September. HENOUVILLE (10) will strip
fitter for a return run and looks like a good each-way play. Another that looks like a good option for
place backers is PINGO (6) which is a winner over course and distance in March.

SELECTIONS
CREATIVE (5) – CAP SAN ROMAN (2) – HENOUVILLE (10) – PINGO (6)

R2 – PRIX DE L’AMIENOIS – 2400m (a1 1/2m) – TURF – Condition Race – Class 2 – Flat – EUR € 28.000

1. SAADI – A fair 4th in a Class 1 at Saint-Cloud over 2100m on 1st April. Can make his presence
felt.
2. LOVE TOO – Unplaced at Longchamp on a most recent outing in a Class 1 event. A good 4th in
a Listed Race at Craon over 1650m in September. Can be involved.
3. ST JAMES PARK – 2nd beaten a whisker at Saint-Cloud over 2400m in early April. Looks to be
getting better with experience. Key chance.
4. ZILLOW – Won at Angers over 2300m on his second run 22 days ago. Can keep progressing
and is a leading player.

Summary : Only four line up, in a race where tactics could be key to success. The promising ST
JAMES PARK (3) could be the horse who has plenty more to come. He went down by the narrowest
of margins at Saint-Cloud when finishing second and can go one better here. ZILLOW (4) got home
in a photo finish when winning at Angers over a slightly longer trip and could be the arch-rival.
SAADI (1) ran well when fourth in a Class 1 race on his most recent outing and can not be ruled
out.

SELECTIONS
ST JAMES PARK (3) – ZILLOW (4) – SAADI (1) – LOVE TOO (2)

R3 – PRIX PMU LE BAILLEULOIS A BAILLEUL/THERAIN(PX DE LA FORET D’OURSCAMP) – 1400m (a7f) – TURF – Handicap – Flat – EUR € 25.000

1. IANOVKA – Unplaced on all three outings so far. Has shown some sign of ability when a fair 5th
at Chantilly in March over 1600m. First handicap run, can place.
2. CHARLOTTE BAY – Three runs out of the frame. Tries handicapping for the first time, the latest
outing was over 1400m. Best watched.
3. TOP DAAY – 2nd over 2000m on 8th April at Nancy, that was in a claimer. Needs more to feature.
4. POPPY CARREW – Two recent 2nd place runs, with the latter at Senonnes over 1350m 20 days
ago. Form pick.
5. GOLDEN TRIP – Ran well when 4th at Saint-Cloud over 1600m 18 days ago. Looks competitive
on form.
6. MISS OWENKA – Did not feature on the latest two starts. A 4th place at Deauville over 1500m
on the all-weather in January was a credible run. Sure to be involved.
7. CLOSE TO YOU – 3rd on the most recent outing over 1350m in April at Senonnes. Today is only
the second run in a handicap. Top three chance.
8. ALIGHT – Having the first run of 2023. Has been out of form on last number of races and looks
hard to fancy.
9. RED PROPELLER – Three unplaced runs so far, the latter over 1800m in mid-April over 1800m
at Evreux. This is the first run today in a handicap. Needs more.

Summary : POPPY CARREW (4) has been knocking on the door on her last two runs and can go
one better in this and get a well-deserved success. The biggest danger could be GOLDEN TRIP
(5) who although still a maiden has shown she is more than capable, a bold effort can be expected.
CLOSE TO YOU (7) can be expected to keep progressing as this is only her fifth run and she has
good each-way possibilities. MISS OWENKA (6) can not be left out, as she could be a bit of value
for the place backers.

SELECTIONS
POPPY CARREW (4) – GOLDEN TRIP (5) – CLOSE TO YOU (7) – MISS OWENKA (6)

R4 – PRIX PMU LE VILLAGEOIS A MONTMACQ (PRIX DE LA BOURDELOTTE) – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Claiming – Flat – EUR € 19.000

1. ROI DE FLANDRE – 2nd at Saint-Cloud over 1600m in a claimer on the most recent start in
April. Leading contender.
2. BAILA CONMIGO – 5th two runs ago at Nancy over 1400m in April was a fair performance, but
needs more to make the frame.
3. SAKARI – Two runs out of the frame of late, but 3rd at Lignieres in March over 1600m was
positive. Likely to give another good account.
4. SEABELLE FAL – Won at Le Croise-Laroche over 1800m 8 days ago. Will not lack match fitness
and is sure to feature.
5. DREAM CYCLE – Four runs so far, the latest over 1700m at Lyon La Soie in April. Looks out of
his depth.
6. URAL – 5th of twelve on a most recent outing over 1800m in April. Needs more to feature.
7. SUPREME – Unplaced in two recent outings. Won over 2000m at Mont-De Marsan in February.
Each way must.
8. LA SWISS – Numerous runs over different distances. Has shown very little and is hard to fancy.
9. DSCHINGIS SHAAN – A nice 3rd at Evreux on the latest outing over 1800m on 12th April. Has
run well at this track before and looks competitive.
10. OCTOBER CHOPE – A number of unplaced runs over various trips of late. Looks best avoided
at the moment.
11. ONDINE – Couple of unplaced runs, including one over hurdles of late. A 3rd place effort at
Marseille Borely over 1700m in March was encouraging. Can make presence felt.
12. MISS MUIR – Did not run too badly when 5th on their most recent outing in a claimer over
1800m at Lyon La Soie in April. Although others look a much safer option.

Summary : ROI DE FLANDRE (1) is a winner over today’s trip in a better race when successful at
Cagnes- Sur-Mer in January. He arrives here off a good second-place effort in this type of event
23 days ago and looks like the best option. SEABELLE FAL (4) will be full of heart from a recent
win and can serve it up to the likely favourite. DSCHINGIS SHAAN (9) has good form over slightly
further at this track and can once again run well. SAKARI (3) can make the frame if running to the
form shown when third at Lignieres in March.

SELECTIONS
ROI DE FLANDRE (1) – SEABELLE FAL (4) – DSCHINGIS SHAAN (9) – SAKARI (3)

R5 – PRIX DE MORIENVAL – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Condition Race Qualifier – Class 3 – Flat – EUR € 23.000

1. SINNDARILLO – Sound winner of a Quinté race at Saint-Cloud over a mile last time out.
Disappointed in three previous attempts at Compiègne.
2. MOMENTO GIUSTO – Has been knocking at the door in this division recently. Gets a 3.5kg
allowance from jockey.
3. THE CHOSEN ONE – Registered an eighth career success in a Lyon-Parilly handicap last time
out. Boasts a solid record at Compiègne.
4. JOAO – A five times winner who was beaten a long way on his seasonal bow. Needs to show
vast improvement.
5. ACE CARD – Off the mark at the venue back in 2021 on third attempt. Has had issues since then
and has not run for a year.
6. GET SET – Four times winner from thirty-eight. Off since October last year and could just need
the run.
7. ANDROMEDE – Lightly-raced filly by Sea The Stars who went off the mark last October on 4th
attempt. Off since then but big expectations on return to action.
8. IKEN – Won a pair of handicaps over a mile last season. Down the field on re-entry but should
strip a lot fitter this time around.
9. FIRST SHOT – Has done little of note over the past ten months and is unlikely to trouble the
judges.
10. JUST IN LOVE – Won an identical contest a year ago at Lyon-Parilly. Well beaten on comeback
but expected to improve a lot for it.

Summary : ANDROMEDE (7) is the less exposed in this race. She has run well fresh before and
makes most appeal judged on last year’s form. SINNDARILLO (1) has improved significantly for
his new yard and his last success suggests that there might be more to come. MOMENTO GIUSTO
(2) is in good form and well-placed in the weight so warrants respect. THE CHOSEN ONE (3) is
confirmed at the venue and comes in the race in good form.

SELECTIONS
ANDROMEDE (7) – SINNDARILLO (1) – MOMENTO GIUSTO (2) – THE CHOSEN ONE (3)

R6 – PRIX DES RUINES DE CHAMPLIEU – 2000m (a1 1/4m) – TURF – Handicap – Class 4 – Flat – EUR € 18.000

1. CLEVER ACTRESS – One time winner from twenty-nine who seems to be on a workable mark.
Can be in the mix.
2. KICK BOXING – Was very consistent in this division prior to his flop at Le Mans last time.
Expected to redeem himself.
3. MYSTIC CHOP – Fourteen starts maiden whose recent form leaves a lot to be desired. Look
elsewhere.
4. MOONRISE SHADOW – Modest recent form over hurdles does not augur well for his return to
flat racing. Best to watch for now.
5. MYFRIENDRICH – Has done nothing of note in four starts this year. On a career-low mark at
present and could pop up in the places.
6. PARFAITE MERILL – Dual winner from forty-nine who blows hot and cold. Can be in the mix if
in the mood.
7. CLEOSTORM – Won twice in sixty-three attempts and is unlikely to make an impact after a
modest recent return to action.
8. LORD SPIRIT – Consistent performer in this division. Improved second run after a modest
comeback and must have a solid chance.
9. SWEET BETSY – Has failed to make the frame since winning on debut at Deauville back in 2020.
Hard to make a case for.
10. RED SUGAR – Placed once in eight career starts and needs to show vast improvement on
recent form to feature.
11. MAXI BELLO – Had done nothing of note for a considerable period of time and cannot be worth
any consideration.
12. AYANA – One place from eight starts in 2023. On a career-low mark but remains hard to fancy.
13. DALVINI – Erratic performer whose last win was in May 2020. Others can easily be preferred.
14. ANIMA ERAT – Fifteen starts maiden who bounced back to form when narrowly defeated at
Chantilly last time out. Drops in trip but a winning chance all the same.
15. GLORY WHITE – Has been totally out of form since August last year and is unlikely to trouble
the judge.
16. QUIZ EVOLUTION – Posted a promising comeback run when defeated a neck in a Chantilly
handicap on 11 April. Player with improvement likely.
17. IVISHAK RIVER – Long time maiden who was far from disgraced in a similar handicap at
Chantilly in last run. Place prospect.
18. FEE HISTORIQUE – Forty-eight starts maiden who posted a nice late finish effort last time out.
Outside chance.

Summary : KICK BOXING (2) gets on well with Mickael Barzalona and could just bounce back
from his latest flop at Le Mans, an effort that was far too bad to be true. The very consistent LORD
SPIRIT (8) is on the rise and should be given a lot of consideration. QUIZ EVOLUTION (16) was
not beaten far on return to action at Chantilly and looks a solid player with improvement likely.
ANIMA ERAT (14) is on the right path and could open her account in this tricky handicap.

KICK BOXING (2) – LORD SPIRIT (8) – QUIZ EVOLUTION (16) – ANIMA ERAT (14)
