Race Preview

Race 1 – PRIX DE LA CHARTREUSE – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Divised Handicap – Class 2 – Flat – EUR € 53.000

1. SCOTTISH ANTHEM – Was a bit below par when last seen, but will be fitter for that run. Won
two in a row last season, the latter at Saint-Cloud over 1800m. Expect a good run.
2. DANTES – Unplaced when last seen at Chantilly over 1600m. A good 2nd at Cagnes-Sur-Mer,
and has each way claims.
3. ROBERTO MOUNT – Not seen since winning at Chantilly over 1600m on all weather in
December. Might need this comeback run.
4. SIMONS KING – Has seemed to have lost all form of late. Best watched until showing
something of old.
5. GOLDINO BELLO – Unplaced when last seen in October at Longchamp over 1600m. May
benefit for comeback run.
6. EXCITING – Showed a better effort at Chantilly over 1600m in early March, and has a top-three
chance here.
7. LUPO NERO – Will be all the better for a couple of outings in 2023. Dropped to reasonable
rating, can be a player in this race.
8. NORWEGIAN SIR – 5th at Saint-Cloud in mid March over 1400m. Has dropped to a
reasonable handicap mark. Needs to be respected.
9. GALORD – Won recently in mid March over 1600m at Compiegne, and has a key chance.
10. ASHIKTASH – 4th at Chantilly over 1600m when last seen in March. Has outside place
claims.
11. UGOTTHELOOK – Has dropped 6.5kg, which will help, and should not be ruled out of running
well here.
12. CARLTON CHOICE – Won at Croise-Laroche in late March over 1800m. This is a better race,
but warrants respect.
13. COME SAY HI – Two unplaced effort of late. Ran well in February when 4th over 1500m at
Deauville. Place chance.
14. BLACKBIRDFLY – Unplaced at Chantilly over 1900m in mid March. Others are preferred.
15. MORSAN – Did well when 2nd at Compiegne over 1800m 14 days ago. Not out of this.
16. JORDAN BAKER – Ran a fair race when 6th at Cagnes-Sur -Mer over 1300m in February.

Summary : GALORD (9) is very honest, and arrives here full of confidence after a recent win,
and is the logical pick. LUPO NERO (7) has dropped 3kg in the ratings, and could be the main
rival to the selection. EXCITING (6) put in a good effort last time, and has every chance of putting
in another good run here. SCOTTISH ANTHEM (1) was rusty and probably in need of the run
when last seen on his 2023 comeback outing. Will strip fitter today, and is a solid each way bet.

Race 2 – PRIX DES GRES – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Condition Race – Newcomers – Flat – EUR € 27.000

1. EDMERA – Daughter of KINGMAN, the Dam was very useful-won a Group 3. Betting best
guide. But should be competitive.
2. ATAKAMA – Filly by LE HAVRE, the Dam was unraced. Any market support should be noted.
Expected to put up a bold show.
3. ALLEE FORTUNEE – Filly by DUBAWI, Dam was a Group and Listed winner. Betting guide,
very taking profile, could figure.
4. CHANEL GOLD – Filly by LAWMAN, the Dam won a Listed Race. Betting market guide, but
not to be overlooked.
5. WILD PANSY – Filly by SIYOUNI, her Dam was useful and Group placed. Betting guide
advised, but has a choice profile, good debut expected.
6. VICTORY OVER LIFE – Filly by GLENEAGLES, the mother was unraced. Betting guide best.
7. TROPEIRA – Daughter of CLOTH OF STARS, the Dam won in Brazil. Betting market guide.
8. MARCIA’S RETURN – Filly by THE TURNING POINT, the Dam won in Ostend. Betting market
guide.
9. ELZADA – Filly by DREAM AHEAD, the Dam was placed. Betting guide, but may need the
experience.

Summary : In what looks an intriguing race for some well bred fillies, all unraced. ATAKAMA (2)
is a tentative pick, she is from a good stable and has a nice profile. and a good performance can
be expected. WILD PANSY (5) a daughter of SIYOUNI, whose dam was pretty smart, is another
expected to run a strong race on debut. EDMERA (1) from a yard that educates their juvenile’s
well. Has a nice look on paper, with a smart Dam, should be noted as a player. CHANEL GOLD
(4) may need further in time, but is one for each way backers.

Race 3 – PRIX DES FONTAINES – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Condition Race – Newcomers – Flat – EUR € 27.000

1. CAWDOR – Colt by INVINCIBLE SPIRIT, the Dam won and was Group placed. Market guide,
but one to be noted.
2. CHICAGO – Colt by CHARM SPIRIT, market guide best to his performance.
3. AL FARABI – Colt by KINGMAN, out of a useful performer, who won a Group 3. Expected to
put up a good debut.
4. WIN UN MAX – Son of BIRCHWOOD, the Dam was placed. Betting market best guide to his
chance.
5. WILD WEST – Colt by TERRITORIES, the Dam was placed. May need the experience.
6. CRACKISSIME – Colt by MANDURO, market guide best. Should be in the mix.
7. STRESSFREE – A son of ANODIN, the Dam was a useful performer. Market guide, but top
stable, and a key role expected.

Summary : All untried at the track. STRESSFREE (7) is expected to put in a good performance
on his debut, from a good stable. AL FARABI (3) out of a talented mare, is another that has a
good profile, and a bold show can be expected. CAWDOR (1) is from a powerful yard and his
dam was pattern race placed. He definitely is one to consider here. CRACKISSIME (6) could be a
type that will need further in time, although should be noted in the betting market.

Race 4 – PRIX DE LA MARE LANDRY – 2200m (a1 3/8m) – TURF – Handicap – Flat – EUR € 25.000

1. VIVAIBERICA – Game 2nd at Cagnes-Sur -Mer over 2150m in February two runs ago. In
similar form must have a good chance of winning this.
2. HIALEAH – Unplaced on latest run. Although ran encouragingly when 4th at Chantilly prior to
that in January over 1900m. Today’s step up in trip will suit.
3. ZELINA – Unplaced on latest start. Won at Machecoul in February over 2350m. May outrun her
expected odds.
4. SUBLIME ATTRACTION – 4th at Marseille Borely over 2000m in March was a decent effort.
Among the top chances.
5. GOLDEN DESERT – Unplaced when last seen. But a nice run when 4th at Pornichet over
1700m in February. Should be a key player.
6. KENZA BERE – Is relatively unexposed after only three runs, the latest over 1600m. Mosse
takes the ride and could figure here.
7. MUSICANA – 4th at Pornichet over 2100m in mid March was a better performance, as some
below par efforts prior to that. Needs more.
8. KANELLE BERE – 4th at Lyon La Soie was quite promising over 2400m in March. Should be
able to put in a good show.
9. OCTOBER CHOPE – Unplaced at Fontainebleau in late March over 2200m. Others rate higher.
10. RUE GALLIERA – Has shown limited ability over various trips. Best watched for now.
11. KALEOBAYANE – Still a maiden after 15 attempts. Out of form and happy to avoid.

Summary : VIVAIBERICA (1) looks the pick in a fillies only handicap, she is quite a big individual
who is the type to get better with experience .GOLDEN DESERT (5) looks like the biggest danger
to the likely betting market leader, and should be suited by the step up in trip. SUBLIME
ATTRACTION (4) has ability, and should also like the distance today. HIALEAH (2) cannot be
ruled out of playing a prominent role in this.

SELECTIONS
VIVAIBERICA (1) – GOLDEN DESERT (5) – SUBLIME ATTRACTION (4) – HIALEAH (2)

Race 5 – PRIX RIGHT ROYAL – 3000m (a1 7/8m) – TURF – Condition Race – Listed – Flat – EUR € 52.000

1. HOMO DEUS – Unplaced in a Class 1 over 2700m when seen last in March at Chantilly. Needs
more to figure.
2. ALMACADO GREE – Group 1 placed last year at Longchamp when 2nd over 4000m in
October. This looks a nice return race to get things started for the year. Key chance.
3. ALWAYS WELCOME – Rarely runs a bad race. 2nd in a Listed Race at Saint-Cloud over
2400m in March. In the mix.
4. DIAMANTIS – 3rd in a Group 3 when last seen in October over 3000m- was a good effort. Can
make his presence felt here.
5. MORMONA – Won at Angers in November in a Class 1. This is a big step up in class.
6. BUKHARA – Unplaced when last seen in a Listed Race in February over 2500m. Others rate
higher.
7. FLYINGBEAUTY – Unplaced when last seen in a Group 3. Won a Listed Race last November
at Fontainebleau over 2000m. Not to be overlooked.
8. GOLDEN CALL – Has no fitness worries, as a recent winner at Compiegne over 2400m in
March. Should be competitive in the step up in class.
9. DIVA DONNA – Unplaced at Toulouse in a Listed Race in November over 2400m when last
seen. Group placed prior to that, and is respected.
10. WILLAMETTE VALLEY – 3rd at Lyon Parilly in March over 2200m. Needs a career best to
feature.

Summary : ALMACADO GREE (2) has very good form in Group 1’s and should be more than
good enough to win this. DIAMANTIS (4) will be fit for his comeback, and looks the biggest
danger to the main selection. GOLDEN CALL (8) will need a career best to win, but is getting
better and has to be in the mix. ALWAYS WELCOME (3) is very honest and it would be no
surprise if he was going to cause an upset and beat the higher rated rivals.

ALMACADO GREE (2) – DIAMANTIS (4) – GOLDEN CALL (8) – ALWAYS WELCOME (3)

Race 6 – PRIX DE PISSELEUX – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Divised Handicap -.Class 3 – Flat – EUR € 22.000

1. BAYLAGAN – Recent winner at Chantilly over 1600m. Can be expected to play a leading role.
2. GOOD FRIEND – Out of the money last time, but his 2nd at Croise- Laroche two runs prior to
that reads well. Top-three chance.
3. GIANTISSIME – Unplaced on his latest outing, but won at Fontainebleau over 1600m in March,
and has every chance of putting in a bold show.
4. SKADE – Won at Sennones in late March over 1350m. Should not be dismissed.
5. CLEOSTORM – Very hard to make a case for on recent form and is probably best to pass over.
6. HOT SUMMER – 3rd at Chantilly over 1600m mid March. Has dropped to a feasible rating, and
should play a key role.
7. GOT FROST – A 2nd place finish at Pornichet in late March over 2100m was a positive. A good
run expected.
8. BLOOD CHOPE – A good 2nd at Saint-Cloud over 1600m 6 days ago. Can finally get a
deserved win here.
9. GRISBI – 2nd at Chantilly in December over 1700m. More is required here and others are
preferred.
10. COLE CHOP – Regressive handicapper. Makes very little appeal and many others make
more appeal.
11. MEARAS STYLE – Has long been out of form and is unlikely to play a role in this contest.
12. MAXI BELLO – Can play a role if fit.
13. BECH RIVER – 5th two runs ago was reasonable at Chantilly over 1900m, that was in March,
but more needed.
14. GLORY WHITE – Dropped 6.5kg in the ratings, but still needs to reaffirm and is best to be
overlooked for now.
15. KENOR – No form of late over various trips and is best to be watched for now.
16. KAVAKNEY – Won at Compiegne in late March over 1400m. Place claims.
17. PARISIAN BELLE – Last six runs have been poor and is very hard to recommend on that
basis.
18. AYGUEMORTE – Last three runs have been poor and will need to show vast improvement to
feature.

Summary : BLOOD CHOPE (8) comes here fit and off a good run. Looks the one to beat. HOT
SUMMER (6) is the likely main threat, he has dropped to a fair mark, that will make him very
competitive. GIANTISSIME (3) has been putting in some good efforts of late, and is bang in the
mix again here. GOT FROST (7) put in a decent run when second last time, and another similar
effort puts him amongst the leading contenders.
