Selangor Racing Preview By Mark Lydeamore For 1 April

Course E will be in operation for the two day race meeting at Selangor Turf Club this weekend with the rail out 4m.

No features to speak of for the Saturday program which mainly consists of Class 5 and Class 4 events.

The high graded 1400m Supreme  C contest (Race 4) will headline the card and ultra consistent galloper, PERFECT (4) has a chance of returning to winning form. Boasting a record of 3 wins and 5 seconds from 8 starts in the country, the Buffalo stable runner can atone for his short head defeat behind stable mate, Intrepid at Ipoh three weeks ago. SEMANTAN PRINCE (2) is racing well but seldom lands the major prize. He recaptured his early pace to lead and finish 4th over the mile last start and is suited by the drop in distance fourth up this campaign. VULCAN (1) has been freshened since struggling over the mile trip last time but is back to a suitable journey has won against similar opposition previously. GOOD FIGHT (3) is also building a good record locally with 3 wins from 7 starts and should handle the rise in grade following his Class 4 victory on Track Two last month. GOLDEN HORSE (7) will strip fitter and could provide value for the exotics second up from a break.

On speed runner, ARIF (9) is down in the weights and could be the value bet for the program in the 1250m Class 4 event (Race 3). A fast and reliable beginner, ARIF has been racing consistently weighing in at his past four outings and should continue the good run for the Sharee Hamilton stable which produced a double last Saturday. MYSTERIOUS CAPTAIN (8) always attracts market support and he will deliver in Class 4 grade very soon. Placed at his past two runs at this level, the four year old should settle into a handy position from a good barrier and may prove hard to hold out also. SYMBOL OF COURAGE (2) was successful carrying 52kg in February and is another fast beginner who should lob handy from gate two and will be prominent throughout despite having to lug the 58.5kg. UNDER OATH (4) is a previous second up winner and has trained on well since his 1200m win here when resuming. BIG BAD MAMA (3) raced well when produced first up a fortnight ago and is also a second up winner previously.
