Fairview, 17.03.2023, Race 1, Gallops, 1000m, Turf, R65.000, 12:25GMT+2

Race Summary: ESTHER looked an unlucky loser when only narrowly beaten. Likely to be smarter this time she should go one better. HUNDREDFIFTHAVENUE is battling to win a race but has made the trip from Cape Town so deserves respect and should be right there at the finish. REGGIES GIRL does seem better than her last run and should do better this time. MAGENTA is also clearly better than her last run would suggest and was threatening to win a race before that previous failure. TIDE IS HIGH should be suited to this shorter distance and can earn some money.

Selections:

#13 Esther, #1 Hundredfifthavenue, #6 Magenta, #2 Reggies Girl

Fairview, 17.03.2023, Race 2, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R65.000, 12:55GMT+2

Race Summary: BACK FOR MORE showed signs of inexperience on debut and should be a lot smarter this time. She is definitely the one to beat. Trainer Gavin Smith has been farming these juvenile events all season, so keep an eye on his newcomers. BOB LEE SWAGGER, BRIDGERTON, QUESTOR and WAZ WOUTER all make their debut for him. GLOBAL BANKER also represents his yard and this colt was not disgraced on debut and should run well once again. Keep an eye on the betting for another newcomer, in the form of SINGLE FILE who is a Canford Cliffs colt.

Selections:

#12 Back For More, #2 Bridgerton, #5 Global Banker, #6 Grey Smoke

Fairview, 17.03.2023, Race 3, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R65.000, 13:30GMT+2

Race Summary: LAW COURT made a much-improved effort last time. He makes his local debut and could go one better but there are a few others who are open to improvement. BOURNEMOUTH, in particular. Trainer Alan Greeff should have a good meeting and this Canford Cliffs gelding looks likely to improve under his care. UNCLE GEORGE has run well enough in his last two starts to hold a winning chance. FIERY CLIFFS did not show much on the Polytrack last time but could improve back on the turf and could be the surprise package.

Selections:

#1 Law Court, #2 Bournemouth, #10 Fiery Cliffs, #4 Uncle George

Fairview, 17.03.2023, Race 4, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R90.000, 14:05GMT+2

Race Summary: It could be more competitive than the official merit ratings would have you believe. TARANTINO is back to his best and can finish off a hat-trick of wins. MOUNT ANDERSON comes after a good win last time out. He beat a number of these rivals that day but the runners in this race tend to take turns beating one another. BOLD RESOLVE is clearly better than his last run. He may not have liked the soft going that day. FERRARI ICE has been very good all season and is course-and-distance suited. BUSH TRACKER was not far behind them last time and has a winning chance.

Selections:

#5 Tarantino, #4 Bold Resolve, #7 Bush Tracker, #1 Mount Anderson

Fairview, 17.03.2023, Race 5, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R63.000, 14:40GMT+2

Race Summary: There is every reason to believe HAZY CRAZY NIGHT ran better than her official rating in both of her last two starts. Blinkers have worked a trick with her and she could be ready to strike again. VIHZOE’S MAGIC did not put in her best last week and may be better on the Polytrack. ALASKAN FATE is a course-and-distance winner and could pop up. MAGIC INSPIRATION was not disgraced when fourth last time out could do better making her local debut. SILVER SLIPPERS and SILVERY BLUE have fair recent form and are not out of it. DUTCHESSBURNEDETTE has won two of her last three starts but is also very unreliable.

Selections:

#1 Hazy Crazy Night, #8 Dutchessburnedette, #5 Magic Inspiration, #7 Silvery Blue

Fairview, 17.03.2023, Race 6, Gallops, 1800m, Turf, R80.000, 15:15GMT+2

Race Summary: EKORIA returned to her best form with a solid win last time out. The way she finished off that 1600m race suggests this 1800m should not be a problem and she can follow up. DOUBLE DESTINY was expected to give EKORIA a go last time but put in disappointing effort. A better run should be on the cards, but she is clearly a tough filly to ride and jockey Richard Fourie will be aboard stable companion SUGARBERRY this time. SUGARBERRY is improving but this is a tougher field. CHRONICLESOFNANIA is consistent and should contest the finish once again. MEDLERS TART was a wide-margin maiden winner last time out and could have more to offer.

Selections:

#1 Ekoria, #2 Double Destiny, #3 Chroniclesofnania, #8 Medlers Tart

Fairview, 17.03.2023, Race 7, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R150.000, 15:50GMT+2

Race Summary: A cracking race with some promising juvenile fillies. LUNA HALO was a well-backed and impressive debut winner. She let her side down a bit when only fourth raiding the Western Cape last time out but could be the one to beat back on home soil. SIDDELEY showed good improvement from her first start to win her second start and trainer Justin Snaith must have had options for this race, so we need to keep that in mind. Trainer Gavin Smith has been outstanding all season with his juveniles and both HILDELITA and IDITA were both well backed debut winners and could be anything. MARSHMALLOW won well recently but is in a tougher race this time.

Selections:

#4 Luna Halo, #6 Siddeley, #1 Hildelita, #2 Idita

Fairview, 17.03.2023, Race 8, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R63.000, 16:30GMT+2

Race Summary: BRENDEN JAMES did well to win on local debut and could follow-up over this course and distance. DAMMI is clearly unreliable but is also capable of winning a race like this. BURNING WINGS is back on turf and could run an improved race. EL ROMIACHI is rarely too far behind and could earn some money. COOL RUNNINGS and TUK TUK have wide draws to overcome but are not out of it. PEDRO and GUNSMOKE are both coming off good local debuts and neither would be a surprise winner. NKALAZINZI could be the surprise package with improvement likely.

Selections:

#7 Brenden James, #11 Pedro, #12 Gunsmoke, #2 Dammi

Best Win: #13 ESTHER

Best Value Bet:

Best Longshot: #1 HAZY CRAZY NIGHT
