Promising mare XENA looks primed and well placed for a return victory in the 1200m Banded 62-89 contest at Penang on Saturday.
XENA is coming off two seconds in a row, the most recent behind smart sprinter AWESOME Storm over 1200m in Kuala Lumpur on February 5 where she cast a plate in the run. The six-year-old’s last appearance at the Penang circuit was the listed Penang Island Cup in December where she came from last to finish 5th, five lengths from the winner.
XENA is yet to win in five starts on the northern circuit but does possess a quick turn of speed which she has displayed in her past two starts and will prove hard to hold out this weekend.
