- MONTY – Last appeared three-and-a-half months ago when he finished 4 lengths from the winner in fifth over 2000m at Sakhir (Bahrain). Did place first-up last prep at Deauville over 2000m. Should be right in the mix.

- SEVEN O SEVEN – Has been in the market at his last couple of starts but hasn’t made an impression, most recently finishing sixth over 1900m at Deauville All Weather. Looking to others.
Summary: An interesting contest with some smart types returning to action. Preference is for JUNKO (3) who is two from two on the AW and went down by a head in the G2 Qatar Prix Dollar at Longchamp (1950m) in October. Top claims on reappearance. BOTANIK (1) disappointed in that G2 event but since finished an excellent second in the G1 The Longines Hong Kong Vase (HK) in December. Major appeal. MONTY (2) is of interest on stable debut having finished a good fifth in the BHRG3 Bahrain International Trophy at Sakhir (BH) in November. WALLEM (4) can pick up some minor prize-money.
Selections

Unbeaten on the AW and rates highly for a top stable. EGOT (3) looks the main threat on the back of a close third in the Listed Prix Luthier over 1500m at Deauville AW. Main danger. AMILCAR (1) finished runner-up in the aforementioned Listed Prix Luthier and makes obvious appeal on ratings. HARPER (4) won the 1600m Listed Prix du Ranelagh at Longchamp in October and should go well after a break.
