Russian Doll finished two lengths ahead of Beckoning Beauty and is now 2kg better off while Addiena beat Beckoning Beauty by 3.75 lengths and is now 3.5kg worse off. If one does the math, on paper Russian Doll could have Addiena’s measure by 3.75 lengths.
Allaroundtheworld could, however, be the value option of the day. The UK-bred gelding with a superstar pedigree may have been a flop on the Highveld but is one from one at his new yard.
In his first start for veteran trainer Gary Rich, he went start to finish and won as he liked. He is not meeting a strong field on handicap debut and has the best of the draws.
He is worth an each-way bet and it could be worth take Swingers with Crested Eagle who was most unlucky not to get a gap when making his run last time out.
Ice Kingdom (Race 7), who won convincingly first time over 1600m, and Bell Jar (Race 8), who one of these days will show us her powerful finish, also rate each-way value in their respective heats.
