Fairview, 13.01.2023, Race 1, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R65.000, 12:45GMT+2

Race Summary: TIDE IS HIGH has been in a disappointment in that she has yet to win a race. She did, however, run a cracker just last week. She could go one better over this course and distance. NAIROBI has been putting in some poor efforts on the Polytrack. Her form on the turf is much better and blinkers have been reached for. SPRING FEVER has been a disappointment in her recent runs but could contest the finish. GIRL SCOUT, MAGENTA and WONDER WOMAN are all capable of taking home some minor prize money. FLUID MOTION can improve after a change of trainer.

Selections:

#1 Tide Is High, #3 Spring Fever, #7 Girl Scout, #10 Sundrop

Fairview, 13.01.2023, Race 2, Gallops, 1000m, Turf, R65.000, 13:20GMT+2

Race Summary: Trainer Gavin Smith has won both juvenile races so far so can he make it three? There was not too much between VISION OF WONDER and WATCH TOWER last time and both are open to good improvement. Rival trainer Alan Greeff will be looking to get off the mark and his Global View colt, LEGAL THRILLER, might do the trick for him. Trainer Sharon Kotzen is not known for juvenile winners but it would not be a surprise if EXCALIBUR or WAR LAUNCH were to win. Jockey engagements suggest WAR LAUNCH could be the right one but one cannot take that for granted.

Selections:

#5 Vision Of Wonder, #3 Legal Thriller, #7 Watch Tower, #6 War Launch

Fairview, 13.01.2023, Race 3, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R65.000, 13:55GMT+2

Race Summary: DAISY DUKE has been a disappointment in her last two runs. She probably did too much early last time out and it will not be a surprise if she recoups those losses with victory over a course and distance that should suit. YAYA MARIA was ahead of DAISY DUKE last time out but that can be reversed this time although there is no guarantee of that. MI MI APPLE PIE is in good form but this does appear a better field than her last two outings. MERCURIAL JET is battling to win a race but could earn some money. TEXAS TORNADO showed good improvement with the Blinkers last time out and could go one better.

Selections:

#4 Daisy Duke, #5 Yaya Maria, #10 Texas Tornado, #3 Mi Mi Apple Pie

Fairview, 13.01.2023, Race 4, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R73.500, 14:30GMT+2

Race Summary: A smallish field but it looks likely that we will get a competitive finish. GOLD ROCK has been disappointing in that he is battling to win another race. This course and distance could provide long overdue success. Trainer Alan Greeff has a decent hand. ALINGALONGA won a nice race last time out. That was on the Polytrack though and he needs to show it now back on the turf. Stable companion ON THE ROAD AGAIN is best when held up for a run so has been finding it tough to win over the shorter distance. This distance could suit. ATKINSON GRIMSHAW is probably at best on the Polytrack but has done enough on the turf to hold a winning chance.

Selections:

#6 Gold Rock, #4 Alingalonga, #5 On The Road Again, #1 Atkinson Grimshaw

Fairview, 13.01.2023, Race 5, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R63.000, 15:05GMT+2

Race Summary: A big field low grade handicap. TRACK COMMANDER has been unlucky under the care of trainer Gavin Smith and could have easily won a race for him by now. He is very consistent and although possible at his very best on the Polytrack he could also win on the turf and is the one to beat. DAMMI is clearly better than his last run would suggest and will be a danger. IDEAL TIME has lost his way of late and is badly drawn but could still earn some money. FLINDERS RANGE is in good heart and has a winning chance. POWER SURGE and recent maiden winner WARBONNET CREEK are two others to consider.

Selections:

#3 Track Commander, #1 Dammi, #8 Flinders Range, #9 Power Surge

Fairview, 13.01.2023, Race 6, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R150.000, 15:35GMT+2

Race Summary: A cracking race. BELLE OF BELIZE was unlucky in her first two starts at this centre but did get a deserved win last time out. She won full of running so could like this course and distance. She is weighted to turn the tables on rival AND WE DANCED but it should be a terrific race. AND WE DANCED looked better than ever when pulling off a fourth consecutive success last time out and deserves the utmost respect. SANTA THERESE looked back to her best when scoring last time out. That was over further and she has been beaten by both INTEGRITY and AND WE DANCED over this distance this season. PHOENIX and FLAME FLOWER ae consistent and could earn some money.

Selections:

#4 Belle Of Belize, #3 And We Danced, #1 Santa Therese, #5 Phoenix

Fairview, 13.01.2023, Race 7, Gallops, 1900m, Turf, R63.000, 16:05GMT+2

Race Summary: An open-looking race. SUGARBERRY has been crying out for a return to the turf and should be well suited to this course and distance. MASTERS QUEEN has been running good races against the tougher sex and does look the one to beat. HEY SIRI has made good improvement of late and returns to the track so could have more to come. MAIDENS COVER has been unreliable since winning a maiden race but does deserve respect.

Selections:

#8 Sugarberry, #7 Hey Siri, #1 Masters Queen, #5 Opera Swing

Fairview, 13.01.2023, Race 8, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R65.500, 16:45GMT+2

Race Summary: SILVERY BLUE arrives for her local debut after two good runs and deserves the utmost respect. GLOBETONIC was a bit of a disappointment last week but seems better this distance and could recoup those losses. MY AMI BEACH finishes off her races well over this track and trip and must be considered a possible winner. MR BODACIOUS won nicely last time out and could have more to come. TRAVEL MASTER, GREAT MELODY and JEAN PAUL have all done enough of late to be included in larger exotic perms.

Selections:

#8 Silvery Blue, #3 My Ami Beach, #2 Globetonic, #4 Mr Bodacious

Best Win: #3 TRACK COMMANDER

Best Value Bet:

Best Longshot: #8 SUGARBERRY
