Selangor Racing Preview By Mark Lydeamore For 10 Sep

Another big day of on course action at Selangor Turf Club with twelve races set down for decision highlighted by an 1100m Class 3 contest (Race 8) featuring a couple of ex-Kranji gallopers making their Malaysian debuts lining up against some formidable opposition.

CHEVAL RAPIDE and FINAL TOUCH will both run into another former Singaporean NO FUN NO GAIN, already with local experience posting 2 wins from 3 Malaysian outings and looks set to atone for his last start defeat. NO FUN NO GAIN will strike a slightly weaker field when finishing just outside the placings in a Supreme B contest as a beaten favourite last start. Jockey Y Aify returns to the saddle where he has posted two wins from two rides aboard the gelding.

CHEVAL RAPIDE stood out in the trials here on Tuesday morning after cruising to the line under a hold to post a time of 1.01.1 with the pacifiers on. The eight year old resumes for the Simon Dunderdale camp and has placed on several occasions against Class 3 opposition in Singapore previously.

FINAL TOUCH, formerly known as Limited Edition, is yet to win at this level but is comes from an astute stable and is one to watch first up since April. Another horse worth noting is LIM’S DASHING who possess a handy record when produced fresh and will benefit from the 4kg claim for apprentice, SN Shiva.

The KC Tiang trained four year old, SUPER HAPPY looks to be a progressive type as he aims for successive wins in the 1250m Class 4 contest (Race 6). Coming off a decisive maiden victory three weeks ago, the Australian bred gelding displayed a quick turn of speed when accounting for his rivals last start and should prove hard to beat despite the upgrade. The main danger may be WISHUPONASTAR , who was in sterling form with 3 wins from 5 starts during his last preparation earlier this year and will strip a lot fitter following two runs this campaign. The six year old was coming off the six day back up when runner up behind Vulcan over 1100m and his early pace should place him in good stead.
