As a punter it is always difficult to find a winner and especially so when your choice has stable companions in the same race.
When it comes to trainer Gavin Smith’s runners an added problem often rears its head as he has a habit of switching jockeys on his runners and the rule of thumb that stable jockeys get the best rides does not always apply in his case.
Nevertheless, that will not trouble Smith as he is having a cracking season and he has a good hand many of the races on Tuesday.
It starts off in Race 1 where his filly, Pinnacle, is overdue a win and she should break the ice jumping from pole position. Duke Of Orange in Race 2 has also cracked a decent draw and his last run is clearly best ignored as he kept finding trouble in running.
Blinkers have returned on Duke Of Orange and in a competitive race he looks the right one.
Joe Harman has built up a string of runner-up finishes, three of those in his last four starts.
A switch of jockey to JP van der Merwe could get the gelding to win over a course and distance that should suit.
If it is not his day for the first three mentioned, it may well pay to also be with his runners in the last two races.
Jet Mirage has returned to form in his last two starts and could be ready to score a second victory.
Princess Of Winter struggled for a while before cracking her first win but she does seem to be still improving. She was a well-backed winner of her latest start and she could follow up on that with another victory.
