On Saturday, 22 January 2022, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into Jockey T Rehaizat’s (pictured) riding of CIZEN LUCKY in the straight, with particular reference, with the level of vigour applied on his mount between the 350m and 150m in the above race.
Evidence was taken from Jockey Rehaizat and Trainer J Tan, the Trainer of CIZEN LUCKY. After considering all the evidence, Jockey Rehaizat was found guilty of a charge of failing to ride to the satisfaction of Stewards under MRA Rule 44(10) in that from passing the 350m until the 150m, he did fail to ride CIZEN LUCKY with sufficient vigour and determination when clear running, between SEE YAH (O Chavez) and STELLA POLARE (CC Wong), was available to him at all times.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration the nature of the charge. Jockey Rehaizat was suspended from riding in races with effect from Sunday, 23 January 2022 to Tuesday, 22 March 2022 both dates inclusive (a period of two months) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.
