Snaith Racing have their runners in fine form and the Queen’s Plate weekend looks likely to be a good showcase for them. They can cap it off with Non-Black Type success on the Polytrack at Fairview on Monday by taking out Race 7, the Aloe Handicap over 1300m, with Zambaq.
This Rafeef filly has done well enough so far, winning twice from just seven starts and considering she was only 10th on debut, it shows she has improved nicely.
Zambaq will be having her first taste of the Polytrack and travelling will be new to her, but she showed in her two wins over 1400m last year she does have some ability.
Both of those wins were on a soft track and wins in that type of going bodes well for adjusting to the Polytrack. It is also worth noting that Richard Fourie gets the mount.
Although it is a handicap and there are six rivals, she does look the one most likely to be ahead of her mark and her recent runner-up berth behind Maledino in a handicap suggested her next win would not be long in coming.
Another very interesting race comes up in Race 2 where two bang in-form runners clash.
Gavin Smith-trained Stranger Danger has won four of his last six starts and is a very speedy customer.
This 1000m on the Poly suits him well and current rider Yuzae Ramzan was aboard him when beating another rival in this, Evies First, over this course and distance in July 2021.
Stranger Danger has not run since finishing a close fourth behind Whatever Next in September so his fitness will need to be taken on trust.
Trainer Alan Greeff seems to have a runner for every race and recent recruit Inherit The Rain is doing him proud and is sure to be doing his best work at the finish once again.
Inherit The Rain arrives fit and will be seeking a hat-trick of wins after thrashing Sonny Quinn over 1000m in October and demolishing Evies First over 1200m in November.
Jockey Greg Cheyne is aboard and will be hoping someone takes on Stanger Danger early in the straight, thereby setting up inherit The Rain for his customary strong late finish.
