The Singapore Racing fixtures from 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2023 have been released and will comprise 47 meetings.
Most of the meetings will be held on a Saturday (32), with in general, at least one Sunday (14) meeting held every month. One meeting will be held on a Monday – 23 January 2023, the traditional public holiday raceday staged on the second day of the Chinese New Year.
The only exceptions to the Saturday-Sunday 3:1 ratio rule are September when all four meetings will be held on a Saturday, and part of July and through August when all meetings will be held on a Sunday during the Hong Kong racing break.
Singapore racing will go into intermission in December before resuming on 7 January 2023.
In terms of feature races, the same 10-race line-up will be maintained as from the previous 2021 season, with some differences in the timings.
The Group 1 Lion City Cup (1200m) was the first feature race of the season in 2021 but has been pushed to 14 August, which means the Group 1 Kranji Mile (1600m) on 21 May will be the new kick-off point.
Two other events have been rescheduled, and as a result, will not be held in 2022. The Group 1 Raffles Cup (1600m) is moved from September to March, but it takes place the following year on 25 March 2023, and similarly, the Group 3 Merlion Trophy (1200m), which instead of its November date this year, will be held on 4 February 2023.
