App Hakim failed to ride his mount out to the end of the race.

RACE 1 [TF: 0822]

JP Van Der Merwe, the rider of STAR FIFTYTWO, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that near the 900m, he permitted his mount to shift inwards, when insufficiently clear of BLITZ POWER (App N Zyrul), resulting in that horse being checked.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness, the reduction of scheduled Race Meetings programmed for the Singapore Turf Club in the immediate future and submissions from Jockey Van Der Merwe that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meeting on Sunday, 25 October 2020.

Jockey Van Der Merwe was suspended from riding in races from Monday, 26 October 2020 to Saturday, 31 October 2020 both dates inclusive (one Singapore Race Day) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.

T Rehaizat, the rider of PERFECT, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that passing the 200m, he permitted his mount to shift outwards, whilst riding it along when insufficiently clear of STAR FIFTYTWO (JP Van Der Merwe), resulting in that horse being checked.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and the reduction of scheduled Race Meetings programmed for the Singapore Turf Club in the immediate future.

Jockey Rehaizat was suspended from riding in races with effect from Sunday, 18 October 2020 to Sunday, 25 October 2020 both dates inclusive (one Singapore Race Day) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.  

RACE 1 [TF: 0822]

App ZX Tan, the rider of STAR EFFECT, in the presence of his Master, Trainer J Lim, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(6) in that he failed to ride his mount out fully over the final two strides of the event.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the reduction of scheduled Race Meetings programmed for the Singapore Turf Club in the immediate future and submissions from App Tan that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meeting on Sunday, 25 October 2020. In accessing the penalty, the Stewards considered that his inaction had not affected his placing but also considered his record indicated a previous breach of this rule.

App Tan was suspended from riding in races with effect from Monday, 26 October 2020 to Saturday, 07 November 2020 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.  

RACE 4 [TF: 0825]

M Lerner, the rider of POROSHIRI, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that approaching the 150m, he made insufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting inwards, when not fully clear of QIJI STAR (App K Hakim), which had to be checked.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness, the reduction of scheduled Race Meetings programmed for the Singapore Turf Club in the immediate future and submissions from Jockey Lerner that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meeting on Sunday, 25 October 2020.

Jockey Lerner was suspended from riding in races with effect from Monday, 26 October 2020 to Saturday, 31 October 2020 both dates inclusive (one Singapore Race Day) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 8 [TF: 0829]

App K Hakim (pictured), the rider of MAXIMILIAN, in the presence of Stable Representative, Mr G Clutterbuck, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(6) in that whilst riding MAXIMILIAN in Race 8 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Saturday, 17 October 2020, he failed to ride his mount out to the end of the race over the final three strides when that horse was in contention for second placing.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the reduction of scheduled Race Meetings programmed for the Singapore Turf Club in the immediate future and submissions from App Hakim that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meeting on Sunday, 25 October 2020.

App Hakim was suspended from riding in races with effect from Monday, 26 October 2020 to Saturday, 21 November 2020 both dates inclusive (four Singapore Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 7 [TF0808]

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Saturday, 10 October 2020, Jockey J See, the rider of  SUPER DYNASTY, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that near the 1300m, he permitted his mount to shift inwards, when insufficiently clear, carrying DESTROYER ECLIPSE (V Duric) in onto WIND TRAIL (M Lerner), which in turn carried SACRED CROIX (J Powell) across the running of GOLD CITY (CC Wong), which had  to be checked.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness, the reduction of scheduled Race Meetings programmed for the Singapore Turf Club in the immediate future and submissions from Jockey See that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meeting on Saturday, 17 October 2020.

Jockey See was suspended from riding in races with effect from Sunday, 18 October 2020 to Saturday, 31 October 2020 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal. 

On Monday, 12 October 2020, Jockey See exercised his Right of Appeal against the severity of the penalty imposed on him. He subsequently applied for a Stay of Sentence. After considering submissions from Jockey See, his application for a Stay of Sentence was granted by the Panel of Stewards on Monday, 12 October 2020. The Appeal will be heard at a date to be fixed.
