Was in the market last start but was slow to begin, losing many lengths and settling dead last. To make matters worse, he went to the line untested after being badly held up yet flashed home late into third.
He returned the fastest last 400m in the event and is clearly going well enough to score an overdue win, which can happen on Wednesday.
Race 6 – 5 SAM’S LOVE
Was run off his legs early over 1000m last start and once starting to make ground in the straight, suffered interference late and went to the line untested to finish 6 1/4 lengths into 10th.
Third-up this week and finally steps up to a more suitable distance after a series of get back, run on performances over the sprint trips and can surprise here.
Sectional Time Stars
Race 4 – 9 NUNCHUKS
Can improve at his second career start after leaving fairly from the stalls on debut, settling too far back in an on-pace dominated race but returning the second fastest last 400m in the race. Can map well from barrier 2.
Race 7 – 8 MAGNIFICENT
Last start was ridden rearward from a wide barrier but stormed home the third fastest for a close up fourth. Based on past performances, he can lead or be handy and prove a knockout chance.
