Looking at the race shape, however, reveals a +5.5 length above average to the 600m which was 6.6 lengths faster to the same section when he finished second at this track and distance two starts ago. This appears a race where he should get softer early splits therefore looks a good chance of being in the money.

Race5 Number 3 Band Of Brothers

Showed signs of ability on debut over an unsuitable 1200m at Happy Valley, settling mid-field in a slowly run race before finishing strongly with good late splits to check home into fifth, beaten four lengths.

He has since trialled well between runs but importantly, the step up to 1400m should enhance his winning chances this week.

Race 10 Number 3 Racing Fighter

Was ridden negatively from a wide barrier last start, however his run into second, while posting the best last 400m in the race which ranked 18th best of the meeting at +3.3 lengths above average, was full of merit off a slow early splits.

Race 8 1 Flying Thunder

Required big exertion to check home into second last start off a -7.8 length below average to the 400m, his last 400m (22.06s) the best of the meeting at +6.1 lengths above average.
