Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 45 Million
Three-year-old maidens with all but one racing for the first time. We’ll take a chance on experience and (6) SEOUL BIHAENG, who after a quick trial led on debut over 1200M on January 10th before ultimately running 2nd. He should have come on for that run and has every chance here. (5) GWANAKSAN SKY will probably be the favourite. He was a strong trial winner, leading all the way and if he brings that form to the races, he can win. (4) BREEDO AQUA ran 3rd in her trial in a decent time while (3) RACE DIVA was a very close 2nd. Both can put in bold showings first up. (8) CHEONDUNGUI JILJU is the next best going on trial efforts.

(2) WITH DORTIE didn’t do much on debut in December but she was a much-improved 2nd at start number two over 1300M on January 3rd when settling midfield and running on. Third-up she can be peaking and the extra half furlong can be what she needs to get over the line. (9) GLORY JOY was only 6th in his latest appearance but before that registered a 2nd and a 3rd and with the former having come at this distance, that’s enough to have him in the numbers here. (4) DOUBLE BLADE and (5) BROWN SUGAR look to be figuring things out having both finished 5th at their respective latest starts and similar efforts can see them closer in this company. (1) AMOS CHOEGANG another who can improve.

(4) POWERFUL IMPACT has taken very well to 1700M, registering a 2nd and a 3rd in two outings since being stepped up to the trip. From a great draw he can sit on the speed or handy and today should his day. (7) STORM LIGHT was an improved 2nd at 1400M at start number three on January 10th. She steps up to two turns for the first time, and it can suit. (6) ECLIPSE BAY enters off a 6th and a 5th from his latest two, both over this trip and both times behind Powerful Impact. He led in those races and can lead again here and be in things a long way. (10) GOLDEN MAKER and (11) SPICE BAND are other place chances.

(9) CHEONGSAN DOLPUNG is yet to win in four, but he has three 2nd places to his name with the latest coming at this class and distance on January 3rd when handy throughout and beaten by a good winner. He only comes up 1kg in weight and can sit handy again and this time go one better. (2) TIGER BULPAE is similarly a maiden but has a 3rd and two 2nd places from three outings so far at 1000M and 1200M. She comes up in class but is down in weight, she draws nicely, and she can measure up. Continuing the maiden theme, (5) MIRACLE SOCKS has four runner-up finishes but weakened when tried at 1400M last time out. Back in trip and with Maia staying on, he is a chance. (4) RAON SNIPER and (1) CRAZY MANGO others to consider on a place line.

Fillies and mares only here. (4) UNICA was a winner on debut before running 3rd in Listed Juvenile company behind Mujehan Geup and Wonpyeong Sket. She finished her two-year-old campaign with a 2nd and a 3rd in similar company to this and having looked well in a trial last week, she can kick off her year with a win here. (11) SUNGLASS was a battling winner on debut over 1200M on January 4th, settling handy and running on well. She is up in class and slightly in trip but neither should be a problem and she can compete. (2) HAKSAN SAMMY is similarly up in class following a maiden win last time out. She has got a long way back in both appearances to date and the slight step up in trip can suit. (7) HAKSAN DAESE and (8) DURAY SHOW the other main contenders.

Seoul Race 6: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million
After a strong of 4th places, (5) TRIPLE PALMETTO got her maiden win over this distance on January 3rd, settling back and running on. She comes up in class here but is down in weight and having got a taste for winning, she may well do so again. The danger is (11) JILPUNGA. He too got on the scoresheet over this distance and has since run 2nd, 5th and 4th in three tries at this class, most recently over 1700M on January 3rd. Another who likes to settle back and run on, he will be challenging late. (4) THUNDER FIRE returns to racing for the first time since last May when he was a winner at this distance. He looked well when a close 2nd in a trial a month ago and can go well first-up. (10) CHRYSOL NIKE and (1) WANGCHOEGO are other minor money chances.

(2) SEOUL BINGO enters off back-to-back 3rd place finishes at this class over 1200M and most recently a tight finish over this distance on January 25th when close to the pace throughout. He makes a quick return here and from a good gate can win. (1) ROYAL SOCKS comes up in class having won two of his last three, most recently an all the way score over this distance on January 10th. He doesn’t get a weight break, but he does get a better draw, and he can measure up. (10) RAON FINAL is also up in class after a last start win, in his case at 1200M. He has the challenge of a wide draw, but he can be competitive. (3) MIGHTY CODE and (7) JERAQUEEN others in the frame.

Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million
(1) WHITE CARLA is a winner of four from ten including his latest at this class over 1800M on January 10th when, as is his style, he led all the way. He is one for one over 1700M, an apprentice jockey keeps his weight from going up too much, and he is favoured to score again. (6) GRACE ROUTE was a class and distance winner two starts back, coming from off the pace. Maia climbs on for the first time today and he shapes as the danger. (11) MUSKET CLEAVER is a winner of two from five and is up in class after a win over 1300M a month ago. He steps up to two turns for the first time but can be competitive under a light weight. (2) GHOST CHRYSOL and (7) SLING STAR, both up in class last start winners, can also be in the hunt.

(3) LIVE STAR is yet to finish outside of the top four and has won his latest two at 1400M and 1700M. That brings him rapidly up in class here as well as slightly up in trip to 1800M, but he looks to have plenty of potential for more and he can make it three in a row today. (2) STUNNING FLATTER enters with recent form reading consistently was 3rd at this class and distance on January 3rd when settling in midfield and finishing well. He should be there or thereabouts again. (5) YEONGWON GIANT was 4th to Stunning Flatter’s 3rd in that race on January 3rd. Yet to win in twenty-two attempts he has thirteen top five finishes, and this is the kind of race in which he should at least pick up another chance. (6) QUERER and (4) PURGE KING among the other place chances.

(2) VET CAPTAIN returned from five months out to run 3rd at this class over 1400M on January 3rd, beating a couple of today’s rivals in the process. He can strip fitter for that run and under a light weight he can win over a distance at which he has triumphed before. (4) BLUE LEMON saw her form go a little bit cold but the seven-time winner hinted at a return to her previous level when 5th over 1800M at this class on December 27th. She has a 4kg apprentice claim and against slightly softer opposition here, she can be close. (7) GANGNAMBULCHUNGGAK was well back behind stablemate Vet Captain on January 3rd, but a big weight drop here can see him competitive. (1) EUNPA SARANG and (9) CHOEGO GAME other chances in a race where not many enter in great form.

Seoul Race 11: Class 3 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million
It’s been a while since (5) MORE THAN JOKE last saluted, but he has been working back towards another and has a 3rd and a 2nd from has latest two at a mile and 1200M. He comes up 2.5kg in weight today, but he has won over this distance, and he could be the one to beat. (4) YONGBI TAEYANG won back-to-back races at class 4 level over this trip in July and August last year and then ran 2nd to the very good filly Oneuldo Smile in November. He comes in fresh after eleven weeks off and should be a real danger. (8) DIANA bounced back into form with a runner-up finish at this class and distance on January 4th when racing on pace throughout and going one better isn’t impossible. (7) PRINCE DAY and (2) THE SUN FIGHTER other place chances.
