His last-start fifth carried hidden merit after he was urged early to settle on the speed but failed to find cover throughout, enduring a tough run. Despite the unfavourable trip, he stuck on gamely to finish fifth in a strongly run race.
Dropping to Class 4 this week, where he boasts a perfect two-from-two record, he is expected to show sharp improvement.
Race 7 – 11 PROUD BOX
Settling a touch too close to the speed in a fast-run race last start, it was no surprise to see him battle away in the straight, beaten 2.5 lengths into sixth over this track and distance.
The sectional data points to an above-average performance, and the form has since been franked with eighth placegetter WIN SPEED, who endured a similar run, performing well at his subsequent start.

Held up between the 300m and the 200m last time out, he flashed home late to finish fourth over this course and distance. With a clearer passage, a top-three finish was well within reach. Dropping to Class 4 this week, he looks one to follow against more manageable rivals.
Race 9 – 4 PATCH OF STARS
Forced to settle off the speed from a wide draw last start, he unleashed a sustained run in the straight to finish fourth over this track and distance. Considering the slow tempo, the effort was better than it reads on paper, and with a more economical run, he can make amends.
