Race 8 – 8 PI LEGEND

He was far from disgraced on his local debut 17 days ago, when he was urged early to cross and find the lead from a wide draw. After taking up that role, he stuck on well into the straight and was only swamped late, beaten 2.5 lengths into fifth.

The form has since been franked, with the winner going on to finish second in Class 2 company, and with added fitness second-up he shapes as one to follow.

Race 9 – 11 OUTGATE

It pays to overlook his last start, where he was used up early from a wide draw before weakening in the straight to finish tenth over 1650m. Prior to that run, he had not been beaten far in Class 3 company despite facing strong opposition.

Resuming from a two-month break, he has since made all in a recent trial ahead of his first-up assignment and could prove a value pick.

Race 6 – 5 AMAZING PARTNERS

Having placed at both starts, he comes off a fast-finishing third over 1200m at this track after jumping from a wide draw. With a better gate on that occasion, he would likely have finished even closer. With those two runs under his belt, he shapes as a strong contender this week.

Race 10 – 2 NEW FUTURE FOLKS

From an awkward draw last start, he was steadied to settle well off the speed before letting down sharply in the straight to finish third over 1200m. With the early sectionals well outside standard, his performance was more impressive than the bare result suggests.
