Progressive three-year-old STRONG DRAGON looks well placed to continue his upward trajectory in the Class 4A contest over 1200m at Kuala Lumpur this Sunday.
The Ooi Chin Chin-trained galloper showcased his above-average ability when charging home from the tail of the field to score over this trip on debut back in June. His other victory came on September 21, when he resumed from a two-month break and broke through at Class 4 level.
STRONG DRAGON comes into this race off a fast-finishing second against a strong Class 3 line-up at this track two weeks ago and, dropping back in grade, looks a genuine contender again with regular rider C.K. Khaw in the saddle.
Unbeaten galloper IRISH GOODBYE looks poised to extend his winning streak when he lines up in the 1500m Supreme C contest this Sunday.
The Brazilian-bred four-year-old announced himself in style when causing a minor upset at lucrative odds of RM103 on debut over 1400m in September. He quickly developed a strong following among local punters and duly justified that support at his next two starts, being sent out favourite on both occasions and delivering with a further pair of victories over the same trip.
While this represents his toughest assignment yet at start number four in the country, IRISH GOODBYE possesses sharp and reliable early speed, which should see him take up a favourable position from the barriers. That asset places him in good stead to maintain his unbeaten record as he steps up to 1500m for the first time.
