Korea Racing Seoul Preview – 6 December

Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 45 Million

Juvenile maidens. (3) WORLD VICS ran 2^nd on debut over 1000M on October 18^th having led for most of the way. She should have come on for that run, Maia climbs on and drawing well to get to the front again, she can go all the way. (6) JEONGSANG HERA has a 2^nd and a 4^th from two starts so far, the latter at this distance when handy throughout Third-up she can have a fitness edge on some of these and is a big danger and will be favourite. (9) HWANG GEUM EO JANG was, to put it mildly, eye-catching in his trial, scoring by fourteen lengths. If he brings that form to the races, he will win. (7) COWBOY SOCKS was quite green on debut but still managed 4^th place over 1000M. He has been back to trial since and can match or better today. (8) AMOS STAR came from well off the pace for 6^th last time and Moon Se-young being booked will attract plenty.

Seoul Race 2: Class 4 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 75 Million

Imported maidens. (4) GEUMA SPLASHY ran 2^nd on debut at this distance and was then 3^rd at start number two over 1000M on October 25^th with three of today’s rivals behind him. He draws well to lead here and has as good a chance as any. (1) MUCHO MACHO RAPIDO was an all the way trial winner on November 13^th. He draws nicely to lead and if he brings that form to the races, he can be in the finish. (5) HIGH MOUNTAIN has run 4^th in both starts so far at 1000M and 1200M coming from off the pace both times. He looks to have plenty of scope for more improvement, and he can be a danger. (6) PASA SPURT was an improved 2^nd at start number two at this trip on November 8^th and he too can be in the mix here. (8) VICTORY SOCKS another who can improve.

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Fillies only. (6) GEOLJAK TIARA has a 2^nd and a 3^rd in from her two tries at 1200M distance, showing handy both times. In this company she will be on pace, Maia stays on, and she will take some beating. (8) WILD MAGIC was 3^rd on debut at this distance before stepping up to 1700M for her second outing on November 2^nd. She should be more comfortable back in trip and should be competing from the start. Those two will be at the top of most quinellas as the form quickly drops off. (2) WONDERFUL TUNE UP has been ordinary in her latest couple but does have a pair of 4^th places on her record and that’s enough to put her in the mix here. (1) ROAD TO SPEAR and (10) DALBIT SONATA are others in the placing frame.

Seoul Race 4: Class 6 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 30 Million

(4) SANGIM YEONGUNG has a 3^rd and a 2^nd from two starts so far, most recently over this distance on November 1^st when slow away and running on strongly. He has plenty of weight to carry here but third up he can be peaking, and he can go one better. (11) CHOCOLATE has shown steady progress across three starts so far, culminating in 3^rd place on his first try at this distance on October 25^th. Given his racing style so far, the widest gate shouldn’t be a problem, and he can be a danger. (7) GEOMEUN SUP has also raced three times and has shown some ability with two 4^th place finishes. He is up to 1400M for the first time but with no early speed in this race, he can get an easy run to the lead and be in this a long way. Debut maker (2) WITH DORTIE hinted at ability across two trials four months apart and from a good draw can make an impression first up. (6) K SIMON another in the hunt.

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(2) CONCORD CODIE was a maiden winner at start three over 1200M and he caught the eye, coming from midfield to win by a cool four-lengths. He is up in class and in distance here, but neither should be a problem and he can repeat. (11) DONGGANGUI STAR also got his maiden win at 1200M before running 6^th of twelve in Listed juvenile company in October. He was disappointing on his latest, which was his first try at this distance on November 15^th, but clearly has ability and is worth another chance here. (5) SUN GALLANT is yet to win on twenty-five but is up in class after two placings from his last three. Those were both at this trip and the weight drop he gets should make him competitive here. (4) APPLE STYLE and (7) ALIFER are others to consider.

Seoul Race 6: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(5) RAON FLORENCE is yet to win in four but is also yet to be out of the top three. He has a 2^nd and a 3^rd from two tries at this class, both at this distance, and from a good draw, he can be on pace and in the finish again. (3) CHEONMAHORYEONG ran out a class and distance winner on November 9^th, leading all the way around. She only comes up 2kg in weight and drawn well she can repeat. (9) FLASH MOVE is one for one having won her sole outing to date over this distance. That was a filly maiden all the way back in July, but she looked well enough in a trail a month ago and can be in the mix first-up. (4) MUNHAK FIGHTER and up in class last start winner (8) SMART MARU are others to look out for.

Seoul Race 7: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(9) DI NE was a solid 6^th of thirteen in Listed juvenile company at start two before getting his maiden win in emphatic fashion on October 19^th over 1200M when leading all the way and winning by as many as he pleased. He is up in class and slightly in trip but is down in weight and the manner of that win suggests that there is more to come.  (4) J ONE POWER and (2) ANYANG TSUNAMI came home 3^rd and 4^th respectively when they raced one another at this class and distance on November 1^st. The former comes into a better gate and is the more favoured of the pair again but can be competing in the finish. (6) COSMO KING and (5) HAEMAJI are others who can be considered on a place line.

Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(7) GWANAKSAN WONDERFUL has five top three finishes from seven starts and two wins, both at 1400M, including his latest on November 1^st when he was handy throughout. He is up in class today as well as tackling two turns for the first time, but he is down 3kg in weight and he can more than measure up. (10) GOLD CATCHER was a winner at this class over a mile on September and enters off a close 2^nd place on his first try at this distance on November 15^th when leading for much of the way around. He has the challenge of a wide draw and a slightly higher weight but should be a big player again. (2) HAKSAN CAIRO is yet to win in fifteen but has never finished worse than 6^th and should be close again on his first spin around two turns. (8) LEGEND WOW and (1) GROW others in the hunt.

Seoul Race 9: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(9) PERFECT DANAEUN took seven tries to get his maiden win but evidently enjoyed it because he promptly won twice more, most recently on November 1^st over 1300M when leading all the way. He is up in class but down 3kg in weight, Maia is on for the first time, and he can continue on his merry way. Should he have peaked then (5) TAPDINE can take advantage. He is a two time winner at this trip already and nicely drawn and lightly weighted, this is the kind of race he can go well in. (8) WHIZ WIN is up in class and in distance following a maiden win over 1200M on November 8^th and he can measure up in this company. (11) RAON NOTHERN DANCE and (4) GEOSEN POKJU others to consider on a place line.

Seoul Race 10: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(1) DAESEONG STAR was a class and distance winner on November 2^nd, coming from just off the pace to score. He is up 4kg in weight but Moon Se-young, who has ridden him to all four of his victories, stays on, and they can score again. (5) MUSKET DAY is a winner of five from ten, including over a mile at this class two outings back. He comes in following a 3^rd place at this class and distance on October 25^th and can get closer here. He will need to overturn the form on (9) REMEMBER AGAIN, who was 2^nd in that October 25^th race, having led for much of the way. He has the challenge of more weight and a wider gate, but he can be dangerous again. (11) DRAGON FANTASY, up in class following three consecutive wins, and (6) GEOSEN GANGHO are the other main chances.

Seoul Race 11: Class 3 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(3) CAPTAIN TIME led from gate to wire to win at this class and distance on November 2^nd, making it seven top three finishes from eight tries over the 1400M. He has an additional 2kg to carry but that’s balanced by a great draw, and he can win again. (7) MIGHTY SHONE doesn’t win out of turn but rarely runs a bad race and enters off 2^nd and 3^rd at this class and distance from her latest two. She has the fastest time among these for the distance, and she can be a danger late on. (10) DANCING WHIZ returned from over seven months off to run 5^th of eleven over 1200M on November 1^st. He should strip fitter for that run and go close. (11) CHOEGO GAME and (8) EAST GANGEOK are other place chances.
