RACE BY RACE PREVIEWS: VAAL@2025.11.27

Vaal, 27.11.2025, Race 1, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R95.000, 12:00GMT+2

Race Summary: EMERALD FORGE copped a bump out of the gates in her last start when finishing behind newcomer VARACHINO’S CHAMP. The former is entitled to have come on from that comeback run and may well improve to turn the tables on the latter who is also engaged to run at an earlier meeting. LILAC SNOW and WINTER WEDDING have the form and experience to acquit themselves competitively.

Selections: #3 Emerald Forge, #11 Varachino’s Champ, #1 Lilac Snow, #7 Winter Wedding

Vaal, 27.11.2025, Race 2, Gallops, 1700m, Turf, R120.000, 12:35GMT+2

Race Summary: KAVOMOLKA has improved with each outing and the form of his career-best last start (3rd) has been franked. With further progress, he could be hard to beat. THOONSIL has finished in the money in each of his 3 outings and won’t need to improve much in first-time blinkers to fight out the finish. NARETOI would have come on from an encouraging Highveld introduction and should have a say in the outcome too. GONNA CATCH YOU complete the shortlist.

Selections: #4 Kavomolka, #5 Thoonsil, #1 Naretoi, #11 Gonna Catch You

Vaal, 27.11.2025, Race 3, Gallops, 1700m, Turf, R105.000, 13:10GMT+2

Race Summary: KORCULA ran on from a long way back when a fast-finshing 4th over 1450m last time, suggesting the step up to this distance will be more to her liking. BLOOD OF EDEN and INTO DANCING are effective over the trip and will make life difficult for the selection. FUTURE SUCCESS had legitimate excuses for a disappointing last start but she could make her presence felt of bouncing back to her earlier form.

Selections: #4 Korcula, #2 Blood Of Eden, #3 Into Dancing, #1 Future Success

Vaal, 27.11.2025, Race 4, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R135.000, 13:45GMT+2

Race Summary: FRANCILIEN deserves to get her head in front after 3 fast-finishing 2nds over 1200m, and the step up to this distance could be just what she needs to do so. DAISY JONES was 4th in a 3yo Grade 3 over this trip on Charity Mile day and a repeat of that performance, off a 4-point higher mark, will put her right in the firing line. Class-dropper ARASHI and returning WINGS OF ICE have the means to make their presence felt too.

Selections: #2 Francilien, #8 Daisy Jones, #4 Arashi, #6 Wings Of Ice

Vaal, 27.11.2025, Race 5, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R105.000, 14:20GMT+2

Race Summary: Debut winner GRACE’S KISS who is open to any amount of improvement. FIRE IN HER SOUL and RINGA RINGA ROSES have shown enough to be competitive and also have room for progress. CONCORDIA has earning potential too.

Selections: #3 Grace’s Kiss, #5 Ringa Ringa Roses, #1 Fire In Her Soul, #13 Concordia

Vaal, 27.11.2025, Race 6, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R125.000, 15:00GMT+2

Race Summary: PALACE PRINCE didn’t go unnoticed last time when 5th in a 3yo Grade 3 over this trip and a repeat of that performance off an unchanged mark could suffice. However, there are dangers aplenty, including consistent hard-knockers BIG UNIT and OPEN HIGHWAY. Lightly raced 4yo HEMISPHERE may have more to offer over this extended trip so is best kept onside.

Selections: #2 Palace Prince, #3 Big Unit, #8 Hemisphere, #10 Open Highway

Vaal, 27.11.2025, Race 7, Gallops, 1000m, Turf, R135.000, 15:35GMT+2

Race Summary: MANYELETI blitzed her opposition over track and trip on debut and she is open to any amount of improvement on her reappearance. ANCHORAGE was outclassed in a 1450m Grade 2 on her 3yo debut but a return to this shorter trip with improved fitness on her side should be more to her liking. ALPINE JET was supported in a 1000m feature last time so should not be hastily overlooked, especially in her peak outing. GLASTONBURY hasn’t been seen since running in a 2yo Grade 1, so she isn’t taken lightly either on her reappearance.

Selections: #9 Manyeleti, #4 Alpine Jet, #8 Anchorage, #3 Glastonbury

Vaal, 27.11.2025, Race 8, Gallops, 1000m, Turf, R105.000, 16:10GMT+2

Race Summary: VANAKKAM has taken a liking to this distance and a repeat of the performance that saw her finish 2nd against male rivals in a stronger race last time should be good enough this time. However, SPIRITRIX is also class-droppers with genuine each-way credentials. Last-start maiden winners VAMANOS will be tested but are improving 3yo fillies capable of acquitting themselves competitively. Consistent TIME FOR CHARITY cannot be ignored.

Selections: #1 Vanakkam, #2 Spiritrix, #5 Vamanos, #14 Time For Charity

Vaal, 27.11.2025, Race 9, Gallops, 1100m, Turf, R100.000, 16:45GMT+2

Race Summary: Debut winner ICE DRAGON had legitimate excuses for a disappointing last start so deserves another chance. However, preference is for class-dropper ONE TIGER who was a good 2nd last time and races off an unchanged mark. SUNSET WARRIOR ran in the same race on his return from a rest and could get closer with that run under the belt. HIS LORDSHIP, PALACE REVOLT and CAPTAIN EFFICIENT also have the means to play a role in the outcome.

Selections: #2 One Tiger, #1 Ice Dragon, #4 His Lordship, #3 Palace Revolt

Best Win: #3 GRACE’S KISS

Best Value Bet: #2 PALACE PRINCE

Best Longshot: #2 PALACE PRINCE
