Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 45 Million
Juvenile filly maidens with seven of the twelve racing for the first time. We’ll side with experience on top though and (4) GEUMJEOKSAN, who after a positive trial, ran 2nd on debut in a very similar race to this on October 4th. She was well beaten by a good winner, but she should have come on for the run and won’t need to improve much to win here. Among the first timers. (3) UNJU CLEAR looks the best. She came from well off the pace to run 4th in a decent time in her trial and Moon Se-young’s booking will catch the eye of plenty. (9) SMART HAESEONG is the only one in the field to have raced twice, improving to 3rd at start two and she can have a race fitness edge on her rivals here. (6) X-TEN and newcomer (2) JESEONG BLUE are others to look out for.
Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 45 Million
Juvenile maidens with four of the eleven racing for the first time. Experience gets it with (9) CHEONGSAN MUSA, who ran 2nd on debut over 1000M on October 25th, showing on pace throughout. He should have come on for that run, the additional distance should cause no problems, and he can win. (8) REFLECT shapes as the main danger. After running 5th on debut, he was an improved 3rd at start number two over this distance on October 19th, coming from well off the pace and he can challenge strongly late on here. (5) FANTASTIC BRO and (3) BLACK KINGDOM both hinted at ability on their respective debuts and can improve here. Among the first-timers, (2) ROAD TO HEAT looks the pick.
Seoul Race 3: Class 4 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 75 Million
Imported juvenile maidens with seven of the twelve racing for the first time and we’ll take a chance on a newcomer with (4) JEONGSANG HERO. The Beau Liam colt went through two trials, improving in the second of them when running 2nd in a good time and showing on pace. He draws nicely and if he can bring that form to the races, he’ll have every chance first up. (3) HIGH MOUNTAIN came from off the pace to run 4th on debut over 1000M on October 25th, beating a couple of today’s rivals in the process. He should have come on for the run, the step up in trip can suit, and he can be a big danger. (1) JJARITHAN HAENGBOK is a Maximus Mischief colt who went through two trials, posting a quick time in both and coming from a wide gate to run 2nd in the latest of them. He is another to keep an eye on first up. (2) WHIZ FIGHTER and (12) M J CLASS both showed ability on debut and can improve.
Seoul Race 4: Class 6 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 30 Million
Regular maiden here and (3) RAON FINALE is the one to beat. She’s run 3rd in both her starts to date at 1000M and 1200M, racing both handy and from off the pace. Third-up, she can peaking fitness-wise, the additional trip can suit, and she can win. The danger is (10) MIGHTY BEAT. He has a 6th and a pair of 4th place finishes over 1000M and 1200M, doing his best work late on all three occasions. He is another who should appreciate a bit more distance and he should be challenging late. (8) ECLIPSE TANGO has a pair of 3rd places on his record and while he weakened having led over 1700M last time out, this should suit better, and an apprentice takes 4kg off his back. (1) TRIPLE PALMOETTO has finished 4th in each of her latest three and may do so again. (7) POWERFUL IMPACT another who can compete for the minors.
Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million
(8) QUANTUM K got his maiden win over this distance and has been threatening another, most recently recording a 3rd place on October 19th when settling midfield and running on. Today can be the day. (7) SONGDANG HWANGTAEJA remains a maiden after eleven attempts but has placed on no fewer than seven occasions, five of them over this distance. In this company he can sit just behind the speed, and he should be there or thereabouts again. (3) CHRYSOL MAJOR returns to action for the first time since April. He was going well before the layoff and while he has had an interrupted career, he has run well first-up before and looked well in a trial. (9) WANGCHOEGO and (2) LUCKY FAMOUS other placing chances.
Seoul Race 6: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million
(8) CHOEGANG SPEED has placed in each of his last three starts, most recently coming from off the pace from a wide gate to run 3rd at this class and distance on October 25th. Beating a couple of today’s rivals in the process. An apprentice claiming 4kg should put him right in winning contention. (9) SEOMDOLMORU is still a maiden, but she comes in with recent form suggesting that a win may not be too far away. She raced on the speed in both of those and if she can get forward again, she can be in this a long way. (1) GROUPER was 6th behind Choegang Speed last time out but at the start before ran 2nd at class and distance and drawing better this time, should be in the mix. (4) GIDAEHARA and the returning and up in class (5) TAEGISAN KING, are other possibles.
Seoul Race 7: Class 4 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million
Fillies (and one mare) only here. (6) AWESOME QUEEN has never finished any worse than 4th and comes in following three consecutive runner-up finishes, all at this class and all around two turns. She tackles the mile for the first time, but she draws well to be on pr close to the pace, and she can get it right here. Should she find one too quick again, it could be (9) CHRYSOL STONE. She is three for three having won all her starts so far, up to class 5 level and 1400M. She’s up in class and distance and faces much stiffer company here, but she is down in weight, and she can measure up. (7) SMART TAKE was a winner at this class over 1400M in September, making all. She hasn’t raced since and is up 5g in weight but is to be taken seriously. (4) RISING MO and (3) KYLIE among plenty of others in good recent form.
Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million
(4) GRACE ROUTE has a 4th and a 3rd from her latest two, both at this class over 1400M. She has placed at this distance before and is tactically versatile and in a competitive race, she has as much chance as any. (1) BLOOD MOUNTAIN doesn’t win out of turn, but recent form reads well, most notably his last start 2nd place at this class over 1800M when racing handy throughout. He draws the same inside gate, and he should be on pace and can be in this a long way. (3) GEUMAK MYEONGJANG was a class and distance winner in August and enters off a smart runner-up effort over a mile. He is another who can be challenging for a prominent early position and can be in the finish. (10) CHEONGUNG STORM and (11) HIGH FOLLY are other place contenders.
Seoul Race 9: Class 4 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million
(4) CHUKBAEREUL DEULEORA was a winner at this class over 1700M two starts back before running 4th at this distance on October 19th, having drawn the widest gate. He draws much better this time and has winning claims in what is a competitive race. (7) HEUNGHAENG DOLPUNG has won both his latest two, most recently on his first try at this distance on October 25th, when he led from gate to wire. That brings him rapidly up in class but two turns has seemingly been the making of him and under a light weight, a hat-trick isn’t impossible. (8) NASSAU CHAT beat Chukbaereul Deuleora and a couple of others who return here when 2nd in that October 19th race and can be in the finish again. (6) BYEOLKONG and (3) STUNNING MONEY are the other main chances.
Seoul Race 10: Class 3 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million
(6) WONDERFUL LORD has won two of his latest three with the other being a close 2nd, all at this distance. He comes up in class today but is down 3.5kg and looks nicely in to keep his run going. (4) ONEULDO SMILE won her first four races before running 2nd in the Korean Oaks in May and 3rd on the Gyeonggi Governor’s Cup in June, having led in both races. She hasn’t raced since and she didn’t offer too many clues in a trial a couple of weeks ago, but she certainly has tons of ability and while she may need this, she can be a threat first-up. (8) YONGBI TAEYANG has won his latest two, both at 1400M and is up in class. He doesn’t get a weight break, but he can measure up. (10) GOLDEN DRAGON and (5) K N GOLDEN KING are other chances.
Seoul Race 11: Class 2 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million
(5) SHADOW HUNTER has placed in all his five starts since his latest win. He has form to overturn on a couple here, but he is ultra-consistent, he likes to race on pace and from a good draw he can defy the 58kg he carries. (3) CAPTAIN P.K. had an ordinary day in the office when well backed last time out on October 25th racing in midfield and finishing 5th. Prior to that he won back-to-back starts including a valuable Trophy race at this distance in September and is worth another chance here. (1) BEOLGYO VERITAS was 2nd in that October 25th race, continuing a positive run of form. He likes to settle back and finish strongly and he can be challenging late again. (7) GREAT STORM is up in class having won well over a mile on October 4th. He’ll be on pace and with a 5.5kg weight drop, he can be competitive. (11) DAEMUL another in the placing frame.
