RACE BY RACE PREVIEWS: TURFFONTEIN INSIDE@2025.09.28
Turffontein Inside, 28.09.2025, Race 1, Gallops, 1450m, Turf, R100.000, 12:45GMT+2
Race Summary: FLYING WORLD, COMIC ARTIST and RINGA RINGA ROSES made encouraging improvement from Run 1 to Run 2 and, with further progress expected of them, they should be competitive for the Trifecta and Quartet positions. WAR TALK showed enough in 3 introductory sprints as a 2yo to suggest she could get into the picture if improving over this extended trip on her reappearance. Watch the betting for clues pertaining to the chances of the newcomers and follow the market moves. ANAHITA, COUNCILLOR and ONETWOBUCKLEMYSHOE are very well-related debutantes from shrewd stables.
Selections: #7 Flying World, #9 Ringa Ringa Roses, #4 Anahita, #8 Onetwobucklemyshoe
Turffontein Inside, 28.09.2025, Race 2, Gallops, 1450m, Turf, R105.000, 13:20GMT+2
Race Summary: ONE EYE ON VEGAS was heavily backed into odds-on favouritism when staying on to finish 3rd on debut over 1200m. He would have come on appreciably with the experience under his belt and on that evidence, this extended trip should also be more to his liking. INDIAN SPICE fits a similar profile but he was unfancied and a well-beaten 4th on debut, so a bigger threat to the selection could come from one of the newcomers – ERROL FLYNN, GREEN MACHINE and TEXAS MISSILE are worth a market check.
Selections: #7 One Eye On Vegas, #4 Errol Flynn, #6 Indian Spice, #5 Green Machine
Turffontein Inside, 28.09.2025, Race 3, Gallops, 2000m, Turf, R105.000, 13:55GMT+2
Race Summary: INCLUSION got his career back on track last time when an encouraging 2nd after a break. He would have tightened up with the benefit of that outing and remains open to improvement. However, that wasn’t a particularly strong 5-runner event so he may be worth opposing. KING OF SILK could represent better value at longer odds and a chance is taken on Corne Spies’ runner confirming the improvement of his last start with this extended trip (and first-time headgear) likely to unlock further progress. Returning MILITARY MOVES, the filly ASIAH’S TIARA, PARABELLUM and ON AN IMPULSE aren’t taken lightly.
Selections: #9 King Of Silk, #1 Inclusion, #10 Military Moves, #3 Parabellum
Turffontein Inside, 28.09.2025, Race 4, Gallops, 2000m, Turf, R110.000, 14:30GMT+2
Race Summary: FREE IN SEATTLE was rewarded for her consistency with a victory over 1800m at this level last month. She had KISSING MACHINE (5th), AZALEAS FOR ALL (7th) and MOUNT ETNA (8th) behind her that day and should have the measure of those rivals again, despite a 3-point penalty. Stablemate FUTURE DATE is closely matched with AVOONTOAST on recent form at a higher level. Both will be competitive in this grade and they could make life difficult for the selection.
Selections: #1 Free In Seattle, #3 Avoontoast, #6 Future Date, #7 Kissing Machine
Turffontein Inside, 28.09.2025, Race 5, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R95.000, 15:05GMT+2
Race Summary: Promising TOP DIVISION and exciting debut winner STORMY DAY spearhead a 4-pronged attack for trainer Johan Janse van Vuuren. The former, himself a first-up scorer, acquitted himself well in defeat in both subsequent appearances and that experience will stand him in good stead. However, the latter could hardly have been more impressive when winning over a similar trip back in July and she’s open to any amount of improvement on her reappearance, especially from gate No 1. Fillies from the same yard, BLUSHING BLOOM and MERRYWEATHER, and unexposed last-start winner FIFTY WAYS complete the shortlist.
Selections: #2 Stormy Day, #1 Top Division, #5 Blushing Bloom, #7 Merryweather
Turffontein Inside, 28.09.2025, Race 6, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R120.000, 15:40GMT+2
Race Summary: ENSUING made light of a 6-point penalty and jump in class when winning at this level last time but his bid to complete the hat-trick is complicated by a further 8-point increase for that course-and-distance success. Promising 3yo rivals GOT THE FEELING and THE LAST DUKE are unexposed and remain open to improvement but have shown enough to leading roles. Lightly raced DRIVELIKEAMASTER is another likely improver with earning potential after a pleasing comeback run from a rest and gelding. ALPHA WORLD won a track-and-trip maiden earlier this month and will make his presence felt with any progress.
Selections: #6 The Last Duke, #5 Got The Feeling, #1 Ensuing, #8 Alpha World
Turffontein Inside, 28.09.2025, Race 7, Gallops, 1450m, Turf, R110.000, 16:15GMT+2
Race Summary: ACCEPT COOKIES wasn’t winning out of turn when an authoritative winner at this level recently over 1600m. She is effective over this shorter trip and should remain competitive off her career-high mark. Familiar foes MISS HANNIGAN, TWOSTEP QUEEN and PALACE DANCER (runner-up over track and trip in her last start after a break) renew rivalry and, on the form of several earlier meetings, there shouldn’t be much separating the quartet on the revised weight terms. Returning MOUNTAIN HIGH and in-form VALIEVA aren’t taken lightly. Unexposed JINGLEBERRY also warrants respect on her reappearance.
Selections: #3 Accept Cookies, #6 Twostep Queen, #4 Palace Dancer, #9 Jingleberry
Turffontein Inside, 28.09.2025, Race 8, Gallops, 1450m, Turf, R120.000, 16:50GMT+2
Race Summary: FULLY LOADED has maintained form and consistency off his current mark at a higher level so he will likely have a say on the outcome from gate No 1, despite conceding weight to all. CHIEFTAIN’S SHIELD has gone from strength to strength recently since refitted with blinkers. He completed the hat-trick at this level last time with a workmanlike success over the same distance and, on the evidence of that performance, a 4-point hike may not be enough to end his winning streak. SUPER AWESOME and SEA SHANTY finished behind LAUGHING WILLIAM over this trip recently but are weighted to turn the tables.
Selections: #5 Chieftain’s Shield, #1 Fully Loaded, #7 Super Awesome, #6 Laughing William
Best Win: #7 ONE EYE ON VEGAS
Best Value Bet: #9 KING OF SILK
Best Longshot: #9 KING OF SILK
