Hollywoodbets Durbanville stages an eight-race card on Sunday, beginning at 12:50 PM and closing at 4:55 PM, with several intriguing prospects for punters to follow.
Race 1, the opener, introduces Trip to Camelot, a well-bred debutant from the Snaith stable, partnered by Gavin Lerena. While likely to prefer more ground in time, he is one for the notebook. The main danger is Objet D’Art, who showed promise on debut for the Marcus yard and looks the one to beat.
Race 2 over 1400m, the first leg of the Place Accumulator, is wide open, with Goodnessgraciousme, My Only Weakness, and Swiatek all strong contenders.
Race 3, the Lucky Fish Magic Mile, sees Lerena aboard Red Wave. Despite a wide draw, his recent progress makes him hard to oppose. Lerena follows up in Race 4 on Red Coral for Candice Bass-Robinson, who also looks primed to strike in a small field. A race-to-race double on Red Wave and Red Coral could prove rewarding.
The consistent Mighty Mary is fancied in Race 5. Trained by Vaughan Marshall and partnered for the first time by Craig Zackey, she appears ready for her breakthrough win.
In Race 6, Wish List catches the eye. Impressive since her maiden victory, she looks a filly with bigger assignments ahead.
The competitive Race 7 C Stakes could fall to Tothemoonandback, Richard Fourie’s mount, though several rivals warrant inclusion.
The finale, a 1000m Class 4 sprint, features Barney Mcgrew, who nearly caused a major upset at long odds last time. He leads the shortlist ahead of Lucy Rocket, Wylie Jack, and Orbit.
With several progressive types on show, Durbanville’s Sunday card promises both value and excitement.
