Ziyasha has much in his favour

Ziyasha

Only eight runners line up in the Gallop TV A Stakes (1000m) at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Wednesday, where Ziyasha looks the one to beat for Clinton Binda. He has been taking on top sprinters recently and is well treated at the weights.

Lion Rampart from Gareth van Zyl’s yard could pose the biggest danger. He should strip fitter in his third run back and has S’Manga Khumalo up. Stablemate Luhamba Phambili, a last-start winner, now faces a stiff penalty but remains effective over course and distance. Donquerari, with just 48.5kg, could sneak into the finish.

Earlier, Alyson Wright’s Priory Terrace looks ready to shed her maiden after two seconds on this course, with Rachel Venniker’s allowance a bonus. Call Me Jane makes her local debut and has shown ability, while Queen Fenn is consistent and gets Callan Murray again.

In Race 2, Flying South looks a safe banker after two narrow defeats and now tries blinkers. Peace Rose and Gorgeous Cape are improving sorts and must be respected.

The Pick 6 is tricky. Dawn Till Dusk has the draw and is improving, while Uzwano chases a fourth straight win. Forward Motion gets a light weight against males, with Tirptiz another consistent chance.

Miss Twinkle can go close in the next leg, but Binda’s Nkwenkwezi is overdue and Cassandra is well drawn after the blinkers come off.

The fifth race is wide open with Lucrative, Captain’s Christy, Russian Doll, and Jeanne Dark all in with claims.

Later, Captain Efficient, Prized Platinum, and One Irish Rover are leading contenders, while the finale could go to French Trip, though Lexican Point and Gotta Go Eddie are threats.
