Busan Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 45 Million

Juvenile maidens with five of the ten racing for the first time. (5) ENCORE won a June trial and was accordingly sent off as favourite on debut over 1000M on July 4th when he raced on pace but ultimately ran 5th, beating a couple of today’s rivals. He should have come on for the run, he’ll be on pace again, and he will be favourite to win. (7) BREEDO SOL ran on fairly enough in his trial, posting a decent time. 1200M can suit first up and he looks the best of the first-timers. (3) HEUIMANG DANBI was one of those behind Encore on debut in that July 4th race and can improve. (9) OASIS GIJEOK and debut-maker (1) P.D SPECIAL others who can compete for the minors.

Selections

Busan Race 2: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(6) FLEX TAP has been getting closer across recent starts, culminating in 2nd place over 1200M on July 6th when handy all the way. She’ll be on pace or handy again here and will be a short price to go one better. (7) SEOGWI CHOWON enters following 3rd place at this distance on July 20th. With not much early speed in this race, she too can get to the front early and be in this a long way. (2) QUEEN RACE returned from a couple of months off to run 2nd over this distance on June 20th. She has had another seven weeks out since then but from a good draw can be in the mix. (1) REAL RESPECT and (10) SEUNGNI YEYAK others in line for the places.

Busan Race 3: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Tricky one. (8) DIA KNIGHT led for much of the way around over a mile on July 11th, ultimately finishing a close 2nd but with three of today’s rivals behind him. He comes back in trip today and can go one better. (1) WORLD TAEYANG was 4th in that race on July 11th, overcoming her customary slow start to run on. She remains a maiden after thirteen attempts, but this is the kind of race she can find the money in. (3) OWNER CHAMP enters off a 3rd place at 1200M on July 10th, settling back and running on. She has shown progress across each of her four outings and the step up in trip can suit. (5) DOCTOR SOLAR and (4) BIGBANG CLASS others in the hunt.

Busan Race 4: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(6) SCYTHAI didn’t have the run of the race after a poor start on what was her first try at this class and distance on July 13th. Instead, we’ll go on her 2nd place on her previous outing which while it was at class 6, showed that if she can be on the speed then she has some ability. She draws better here and with Franco climbing on, she is worth another chance. (9) PLUTO has won his latest two at 1200M and 1300M, racing handy both times. He carries his fair share of weight and is up to 1400M for the first time, but a hat trick isn’t out of the question. (7) SUCCESS COW led all the way to get his maiden victory at this distance on June 27th, He is up in class here but can measure up in this company. (8) RALLY MAN and (4) MARIA’S CALL are both better than their respective latest efforts.

Selections

(6) Scythai (9) Pluto (7) Success Cow (8) Rally Man

Busan Race 5: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Fillies only here. (9) RIPPLES MARINE was an all the way winner on debut over 1000M on July 11th. She is up in class and in distance, but the manner of that win suggests that there can be more to come. (5) QUEEN SPICY got her maiden win at this distance at start number two and enters off a 3rd and a 2nd from her latest two, again both at this distance. She can settle behind the speed here and be a danger. (6) KKEUTPAN YEOGEOL is still a maiden but the only time she has finished outside the top five was on her debut. She was an on pace 2nd at this class and distance last time out on July 11th and she should be in this a long way again (7) GLOBAL HEROINE and (1) DAESUNG DOLPUNG are others to consider.

Selections

(9) Ripples Marine (5) Queen Spicy (6) Kkeutpan Yeogeol (7) Global Heroine

Busan Race 6: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Small but competitive field. (3) APDOJEOK NUMBERONE is yet to win in five starts but has likewise never finished outside of the top four. He comes up in class here but that means he comes down a full 3.5kg in weight, and he has as much chance as any of breaking through. (4) HANEUL POKPUNG has mixed his form across his eleven starts but his last up 3rd in quick race at this class and distance had plenty of merit to it. He shapes as the pacesetter here and should be in things a long way. (2) GRAND DREAM rounds out the top line of favourites. His win came at this distance and while his recent form is no better than ordinary, he has a strong finish on him and Seo Seung-un aboard for the first time catches the eye. (6) BEOLGYO FRANCHE and (8) UNJU LEGEND are others in the minor money frame.

(3) BARBELL TROFEO is still a maiden after nine attempts, but he has placed on five occasions and enters off a solid 4th place at this class and distance on July 11th. In this company, he should be on pace, Franco stays on, and he can win. (2) HEUIMANG GUNJU has won his latest two, both at a mile, and most recently at this class on July 4th. He comes up in weight, as well as up to 1800M for the first time, but neither should be an issue, and he can complete his hat trick. (8) ALICE MARINE is a twenty-six-race maiden but she has plenty of money finishes and coming up to 1800M for the first time, this is the kind of race that she can be competitive in. (1) ARIONUI BIT and (5) SEOUL DRAGON, the latter second-up after almost five months off, are others to consider on a place line.

Selections

(3) Baebell Trofeo (2) Heuimang Gunju (8) Alice Marine (1) Arionui Bit

(5) DOCTOR CASTLE has two 4th places and a 2nd since being stepped up to this trip. He’ll be on or close to the pace here, Seo Seung-un is aboard for the first time, and he will be favoured to win. (3) NICE GIRL has won two of her last three, most recently at this class on her first try at 1800M on July 4th when on pace throughout. She comes up 2.5kg in weight but that’s balanced by a good draw, and she can be in the mix again. (2) THUNDER PASSION was 4th behind Nice Girl in that July 4th race in what was his first try at this class following his maiden win at a mile in June. He should have benefited from that experience and can get closer this time. (4) BABEL DREAMY and (1) QUEEN’S FLETAR are both long time maidens but either could sneak some money in this company.

Selections

(5) Doctor Castle (3) Nice Girl (2) Thunder Passion (4) Babel Dreamy

(3) ROCK CANDY was a winner three starts back and was then given a spin around in the Gyeonggi Governor’s Cup, the final leg of the Triple Tiara where she finished a creditable 4th over 2000M. She followed up with another 4th when dropping back to this class and distance on July 11th, and she can return to winning ways here. She will need to overturn the form on (1) UNJU WINNER, who was 2nd in that July 11th race, showing on pace throughout and briefly leading in the straight. That continued a positive run of form and while he carries a big weight again, he can be a danger. (6) BIG JAWS is up in class following a smart win over this distance on July 11th. He is down 3.5kg in weight and he can measure up. (9) COOL RUNNING and (4) ASTIN MARINE other place chances.

(3) Rock Candy (1) Unju Winner (6) Big Jaws (9) Cool Running

Busan Race 10: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

After running 4th in debut, (8) VANGIE has finished in the top two in each of his subsequent runs, most recently winning over this distance on July 13th when settling behind the speed and proving too strong. He comes up in class but is down in weight, and he can win again. (1) IT’S OK won starts two and three in April and May to get rapidly promoted to this class. She races for the first time since June 8th when she beat two of today’s rivals on her way to 4th on her first try at this class. She carries a light weight, she draws very well, and she is the main danger. (3) BLUE SKY was a class and distance winner on July 11th and while she comes up in weight, she can be in the mix again. (9) B.K DANCING GIRL and (4) DOCTOR CITY are the other chances.

Selections

(8) Vangie (1) It’s OK (3) Blue Sky (9) B.K. Dancing Girl

(2) SAMAKUI KKOT is a winner of three of her last five, most recently beating three of today’s rivals at this class and distance on July 13th.  In this company she will be on or just behind the pace and while she is up a full 4kg in weight, she can win again. She does tend to mix her form though and if that happens here then (6) ROAD STAR is the most likely to take advantage. She’s run 2nd in both her latest two at this class and distance, both times beating a few of the others who return here. She will be on pace, she only comes up 1kg, and she can be a danger. (7) GOLDEN AIR was 5th behind Samakui Kkot in that July 13th race having led for much of the way. He too will be on the speed and with the weight swing, can get closet. The form drops off after those three with (5) SOUTHERN JOY and (10) B.K. ZENA other placing possibles.

Selections

Busan Race 12: Class 3 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(3) WIND BULLET is a winner of four from nine and enters having been 4th over a mile on his first try at this class at the end of June. He comes back to a trip at which he has won twice, Seo Seung-un rides for the first time, and he has as good a chance as any. (1) SEVEN DRAGON returns to action for the first time since last September, but he looked very well when winning a trial in a quick time on July 12th. Further was his go before the layoff but this looks a suitable race to return in, Franco is on, and he can be competitive. (5) BEOLGYO WANGCHO was a well beaten favourite last time out over 1300M, with the rider ascribing it to a wide draw and big weight. The draw is better here, and the weight is countered by racing out of class, bringing him down a full 5.5kg. There should be no excuses here. (8) MORPHEUS and (4) BLACK SPRING are others in the frame.

Selections

(3) Wind Bullet (1) Seven Dragon (5) Beolgyo Wangcho (8) Morpheus

(4) RAON THE MASKE won back-to-back starts in May and June before being beaten into 5th when favourite at this class and distance on July 6th. The margins were not big that day though and he can be on pace again and given another chance. He will need to overturn the form on (6) TROPHY WARE who was the 25/1 winner of that July 6th race, settling midfield and running on. He comes up 3kg in weight but warrants respect. (5) BLACK VOLT is rarely too far away and has the fastest time among these for the distance. He’ll sit behind the speed and run on and this is the kind of race where he can threaten the places. (1) BUDDY BUDDY and (8) FANTASTIC HUMOR are other money chances.

Selections

(4) Raon The Maske (6) Trophy Ware (5) Black Volt (1) Buddy Buddy

(10) CARDINAL FORCE holds an entry into the international Korea Sprint four weeks today but if he is to get in, he will probably need to get his rating up by winning this. Fortunately for his connections, that seems eminently possible as he is the form horse coming in having finished in the top three in each of his last six outings. He draws wide but should still be on pace and he should have too much. (4) FANTASTIC WOMAN was a winner over this distance on July 11th racing handy throughout. She is up in class but down in weight and can be in the mix. (6) GEUMA DISTINCTION had a hard time at 2000M last time out but should be much happier back at a trip at which he has placed in six of seven starts at. (5) BACCHUS and (2) NICE BIG GUY are other placing chances.
