Solar Sail could have too much class

Wednesday’s eight-race turf card at Hollywoodbets Greyville is headlined by a competitive Progress Plate over 1400m, with Mark Khan making his first KZN visit as a trainer. His leading runner, Solar Sail, returns after a strong third in the Gr1 Daily News 2000. Although the trip may be on the sharp side, his class could see him through. Stable rider Jarred Penny is aboard.

Go Grayson Go and Two Miles West look live threats—both consistent and well drawn. Khan’s second runner, Coppola, is capable but drawn wide.

In Race 2, Capricious Miss improved on the poly and could remain competitive from pole draw, though the switch back to turf is a query. Chericherilady, now with Paul Gadsby, brings fair Highveld form and could strike on stable debut. Ms Galore, from a form yard, has been rested but hinted at ability.

The Class 5 Handicap in Race 5 could go to One Irish Rover, narrowly beaten last time and proven at the trip. Lions Eye is improving, and veteran Purple Powahouse remains a solid contender.

Race 6 features Star In Motion, who recently broke his maiden and has franked form. Cardinal Chief looks progressive, while Run Forest Run is lightly raced with scope.

Wing Walker seeks a third win but switches from poly to turf. Sea Shanty, consistent for Mark Khan, is a major threat. King Of Numbers also boasts consistent Highveld form and a good draw.

In the final race, School Policy is set to improve on a smart local debut. Prom Queen, Happy Fortune, and Avernian Goddess are all in the mix.

Earlier, Mohave Prince and Wonderful Tonight look the standouts in a strong maiden. Catch A Penny, placed in all 10 starts, is a banker for the Place Accumulator.
