Former Macau galloper PLATINUM EMPEROR looks well on track for back-to-back wins in Sunday’s 1600m Supreme A contest at Kuala Lumpur.
He made an instant impact on local debut, charging home to win the RM100,000 Wilyah Silver Bowl over 1200m in February. The six-year-old then went for a spell after a brave third in the Group 1 Tunku Gold Cup on March 16, where he stormed home from midfield over 1200m.
Resuming on July 12, PLATINUM EMPEROR returned in fine style with a solid victory in a Metro A Stakes race, defeating CAVALRY. While he hasn’t won second-up in his previous three campaigns, that could easily change this Sunday.
Talented six-year-old FILIAL DRAGON looks poised to extend his winning streak to five when he lines up in the 1200m Supreme A contest this Sunday.
Now in career-best form for the Jason Ong stable, FILIAL DRAGON has notched five wins from eleven local starts. After defeating stablemate PACIFIC VAMPIRE in a 1200m Supreme A on June 29, he hit new heights with a dominant performance in the Group 1 Perak Gold Vase three weeks ago. Settling eighth at the half-mile, he unleashed a powerful finish to score with ease by three lengths over SUPER SALUTE.
Judging by that emphatic victory, FILIAL DRAGON appears to have gone to another level—and he’ll be hard to stop as he looks to maintain his flawless run this weekend.
