Promising galloper LATIN LEGEND looks set to continue his rise through the ranks when he lines up in the 1800m Stayer Stakes A at Kuala Lumpur this Sunday.
Since scoring on local debut in a Max Two Stakes over 1200m back in May, the five-year-old has continued to impress with his adaptability and rapid progression through the grades. Most recently, he stamped his class with a dominant win in a Supreme B contest on July 6, claiming victory over the mile and defeating Selangor Mile runner-up Good Star in the process.
Imported to Malaysia as a one-time winner, the Irish-bred grey appears well equipped to handle the step up to 1800m. Despite drawing the outside barrier, he shapes as the one they’ll all have to beat.
Three-year-old BOLD RUNNER returns to the track this Sunday with strong winning claims in the 1300m Class 4B contest.
The New Zealand-bred gelding has been lightly raced, making just six appearances across two preparations since scoring on local debut in September last year. He has proven competitive in Class 4 company, finishing in the placings in both attempts, including a solid third on May 18 before heading for a break.
BOLD RUNNER signalled his readiness with a sharp trial on Tuesday, cruising to a four-length win on the sand. That hit-out suggests he’s primed for a bold first-up performance this weekend.
