Korea Racing Seoul Preview – 26 July

Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(2) PERFECT DANAEUN was much improved on his return from a three-month layoff on June 14^th, racing handy and finishing 3^rd over this distance. He should strip fitter for that run and will be favourite to score here. (4) TIGER K has a 2^nd place on his resume and enters off solid 3ed and 4^th places over this distance. Drawn well, he shapes as the pacesetter and should be in this a long way. (6) AWESOME STEP has been on the fringes of the places across her five starts to date and should be there or thereabouts again. (3) JEULGEOUN SANGSANG, with a line through his latest, and (7) JINJUUI SIMJANG are others to consider on a place line.

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(5) WONDERFUL CATHY seems to be figuring things out and has a 3^rd and a 4^th from her latest two, both at this distance. From a central draw, she’ll be on pace, Ruan Maia knows her well, and she is the one to beat. (2) EUNPA SWEET has four finishes between 3^rd and 5^th including last time out on what was her first try at this distance. She can settle just behind the early speed here and can be finishing strongly. (7) BULGEUNTAEYANG was beaten by Eunpa Sweet last time out but has similarly hinted at ability with some positive finishes and he has the fastest final furlong average time in the field. He can be coming on strong at the end again. (8) X FACTOR and (6) SAINT WINNER are other place chances.

Seoul Race 3: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Fillies only here. After running 4^th in a slow race on debut, (2) GOLD CATCHER has won two in a row, most recently in a similar all-filly race at this class and distance on July 6^th when settling right back and running on. She only comes up 2kg in weight and she should have the beating of this lot. (8) GOOD FRIEND remains a maiden but was a solid 4^th on her first try at this class on July 6^th and continuing under a light weight, she can be in the mix to go closer.  (10) BISANG BELL is up in class following her maiden win at 1300M on June 1^st. She comes in fresh after eight weeks off and down in weight, she can measure up in this company. (3) YEONGWON POTEN and (7) YES MADAM among others in the placing frame.

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(8) BEOLGYO DESTINO was a winner on debut last December before running 5^th on his first try at this class in January. He hasn’t raced since having suffered from inflammation in his left hind leg, but he has been in regular work and looked well enough in a May trial. He may be worth a chance first up. (1) WANGCHOEGO is yet to win in eleven attempts but has no fewer than five placings to his name, including a 3^rd and a 2^nd from his latest two. From the inside gate, Jang Chu-youl can pick his spot and he is a big danger. (3) SMART A ONE is another maiden but is up in class having begun her career with a 3^rd and a pair of 2^nd places She is down in weight and can be competitive in this company. (2) STUNNING WORLD and (7) GEOSEN JIJON others in the hunt.

Seoul Race 5: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(6) SSOARA STAR  has six top three finishes from seven outings with both his wins coming at this distance. He enters off a runner-up finish at this class and distance on June 14^th when coming from off the pace and with a couple of today’s rivals behind him and he should be going one better today. (8) NO PROBLEM got back-to-back wins in April and May to be rapidly promoted to this class before running 3^rd on his first try at the level over 1400M on June 22^nd. He comes back in trip today and can be a danger. (1) RAON THE KEISHA is up in class after a 2^nd place over this distance on June 8^th. She is down a full 4kg in weight and from the inside gate, she can lead here. (10) GEUMAK JINJU and (9) EXCELLENT QUEEN among other place chances.

Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(7) BILLION BOY comes in seeking a hattrick having won his latest two, both over this distance, leading all the way in the first and then overcoming a slow start to track the leader in the second. That brings him rapidly up in class, but he is down in weight, and he can win again. (3) HI KHAN is yet to win in nine attempts at this level but enters off a 2^nd and a 4^th in his latest two, both over 1400M. Well drawn and lightly weighted, he can be on the pace again and be in this a long way. (9) YESULIYA beat a couple of these on his way to a front-running 2^nd at this class and distance on June 29^th and he can be in the mix again. (2) WHIZ REALITY and (10) STING JET are others to consider.

Seoul Race 7: Class 3 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(10) CUPID IT ran out an emphatic winner over this distance back in April. He hasn’t raced since, and he is up in class here and he missed work for three weeks at the end of June and beginning of July due to lameness. However, he has been back in training since July 11^th, and he can make a winning return. (5) DAEHEUNG CLASS is a non-winner of twenty-nine but has no fewer than seventeen placings. That includes a last start 3^rd place at this class and distance and with CC staying on, he can be close again. (8) NAVY CAPTAIN was a winner at class and distance two starts back and while he struggled under similar weight today on his re-appearance, he can be given another chance. (4) BONGHWA STAY and (6) A PURE GOOD WOMAN are others in the frame.

Seoul Race 8: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(6) BEOLGYOUI STAR is a winner of four from seven so far, including both his latest two, most recently at this class and distance on May 3^rd when leading all the way. He comes up a full 5.5kg in weight and also races for the first time in twelve weeks, but he can complete his hattrick here. (3) ZETTA MASTER mixes his form but comes in having beaten three of today’s rivals on his way to 2^nd place at this class and distance on June 29^th when coming from well off the pace. He comes up 2.5kg in weight but is a danger again. (5) VISION POWER was 3^rd in that June 29^th race, his second consecutive finish in that position since being promoted to this class. Staying under a light weight he can be there or thereabouts again. (4) MAX WEEK and (11) CHEONJANGSA others to consider.

Seoul Race 9: Class 2 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million

Small but competitive field for the finale. (8) DRAGON BULPAE has won his latest tow, most recently his first try at this distance on June 21^st when leading for most of the way. He comes up in class here but is down in weight and he can make it three in a row. The danger is (2) EAST WEST, who has a 4^th and two 3^rd places in three outings since being promoted to this class. He comes back to the distance at which he secured both of his wins to date and well drawn and under a very light weight, he has solid claims. (3) MUSTANG POWER and (1) GIANT PUNCH came home 3^rd and 5^th respectively when they raced each other at this class and distance in May. The former then ran 4^th behind East West at 2000M and both can be competitive here. (6) MIGHTY JJANG, up at 1800M for the first time, is the wildcard.
