Tulip Fields is ready to blossom

Ralph The Rascal - Candiese Lenferna

Punters face a competitive card at Hollywoodbets Scottsville next Wednesday, with hopes of boosting bankrolls ahead of the World Pool Gold Cup meeting on Sunday.

The card kicks off with a tricky juvenile event. Of those who’ve run, Tulip Fields made a promising debut on the poly and should run well despite the drop in trip. Belligerent improved nicely second up, while Love The USA gets a 4kg claimer and has shown consistency.

In the first leg of the PA, watch debutantes Cowboy Country and Exocet, both earning positive trainer comments. Among the raced, Mfethu made a smart debut and now has Gavin Lerena aboard. Boardwalk Breeze has been knocking and should be in the mix.

Director improved at his second start and has a useful draw in the first leg of the Pick 6. Good Omen showed potential behind Gr1 contender Ziyan’s Pride. Thirteen Fourteen and well-bred Gallic Victor are ones to watch.

Ralph The Rascal won last time under apprentice Brevan Plaatjies and could follow up, though drawn wide. Kimball O’Hara is 3kg worse off and may struggle to turn the tables. Dancing On A Cloud gets blinkers, while Rooster Bradshaw is suited to this longer run-in.

In the fifth, Uzwano chases a turf win after back-to-back poly victories. Bristol Hercules is consistent, while The Brief brings strong Highveld form. Go Grayson Go is aided by Venniker’s claim.

Pankster could be the bet of the day after a smart last win. Teriyaki, Now I Got You, and Jane’s Vision have each-way claims.

In the seventh, Good Traveller may finally strike. Watch for Khethiwe’s Destiny with new gear and Cape raider Maphaka.

Masterofthedesert can close the card, down in ratings. Mar Del Plata and Moya Wa Laliga are strong contenders too.
