Well-bred class-dropper DUAL PROPHECY caught the eye over track and trip last time and in his peak outing should pose a threat to the selection. STORM AHEAD, FLAG BEARER and GAMER are honest hard-knockers with the form and experience to make their presence felt too. VOLTE FACE, CARNELO and CIRCLE OF GRACE are others with earning potential.

WILLOW EXPRESS bounced back to form in a minor KZN feature last time so isn’t taken lightly, even at this level, under bottom weight. Course-and-distance specialist JURY’S OUT would have tightened up after a much-needed comeback run over 1160m and will likely fare better over this trip.

Race Summary: Stablemates BIRTHRIGHT and THE PLAYBOY BOMBER are undefeated over track and trip. The latter overcame a wide draw when winning over course and distance last time and a 3kg-penalty isn’t likely to prevent another forward showing. However, preference is for the consistent latter who caught the eye with a fast-finishing 4th over 1450m on the Inside track last month and will prefer the Standside track. WARHAWK BOMBER, KING OF NUMBERS, BLOOMINGTON and EIFFEL TOWER should be competitive for the places. Highveld newcomers LUCE VERDE and PRIME VENTURE, as well as returning MASTER ARIANO, aren’t taken lightly.
