Korea Racing Seoul Preview – 21 June

Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1000M) Special Weight A / KRW 45 Million

Juveniles with eight of the ten racing for the first time. Pegasus Farm’s Air Force Blue is an exciting addition to the stallion ranks and their home bred (5) AIRFORCEONE makes his debut here. He looked very assured when comfortably winning a trail on May 29^th from the front and if he brings that form to the races, he will be hard to beat. (10) JILPUNGA rana fair 5^th on debut on May 31^st. The time wasn’t quick, but the actual race experience should be beneficial, and he can improve here. (1) ANYANGBITCHUISOKDO ran 2^nd in his trial and from the inside gate can be on pace and put in a bold showing. (2) MADE and (3) SAENAE FIGHTER others who hinted at ability in trials.

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Fillies only in this maiden. (9) GLORY QUEEN was 2^nd when sent off as favourite over this distance on May 11^th, continuing a run of positive efforts. She laid out for part of the race to the extent she got sent back to trial, but if she can behave herself today, she should go one better. (3) NESSUN DORMA raced three times last year with a best of 4^th. She’s not raced since last September but she looked very well when 2^nd in a May trial (beating Glory Queen) and if she brings that form to the races, she can be a danger first-up. (2) JISAN FRIEND has hinted at ability across her four starts so far and drawn well, she should be at least a place chance. (4) SEOHAE BADA and debut-maker (10) SONGDANG PARTY others who could have a say.

Seoul Race 3: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Could today finally be the day for (7) MIGHTY BOM? He has placed ten times without winning including last time out when 2^nd at this class and distance on May 25^th, coming from off the pace. An apprentice keeps his weight low, and he has as good a chance as any. (4) WANGCHOEGO is also a maiden but comes in after a sharp class and distance 2^nd on May 10^th and should be in the mix again. (8) WONDERFUL TECHNO races for the first time since getting his maiden win at 1700M last July and a chip fracture. He has been in and out of work since February but got his act together finally with a solid trail win last Thursday. So long as he didn’t leave his race there, he can go well first up. (6) CALIPH and (10) ARCH DAY, the latter needing a line through his latest, others in the frame.

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(11) CYCLONE STAR has won his latest two, both over this distance, and most recently at this class on April 26^th when settling midfield and running on. He comes up 3kg in weight, and has the challenge of the widest gate, but a hat-trick can’t be ruled out. (2) STUNNING WORLD is yet to win in seven attempts but has been getting ever closer, culminating in a 2^nd place over 1300M on May 18^th. That brings her up in class here, but she comes down in weight, she draws well, and she can measure up. (5) FLYING CONCORD returned nine months after his debut to win at this distance on April 20^th. He is up in class but down in weight and if anything, should strip fitter for that April run. (1) ECLIPSE LUCKY and (10) DUSON EUTTEUM others who can challenge.

Seoul Race 5: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(3) RYAN HEART has won two of his last three, most recently an emphatic score over 1300M on May 17^th when he led from gate to wore. He comes up in class and while he doesn’t get a weight drop, he can be on pace and go all the way again. He will need to overturn the form on (5) HAKSAN DARK HORSE, He beat Ryan Heart when the pair ran 1^st and 2^nd at class 5 level over 1300M in April before running 2^nd himself on his first try at this class on May 17^th coming from off the pace. He will be finishing strongly again. (4) IMRO was 3^rd in that May 17^th race. He has two wins and has never finished any worse than 4^th in five starts and should be there or thereabouts again. (6) ANYANG GIPPEUM and (7) ULTRA SOCKS others in the placing frame.

Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

Fillies and mares only here. (1) LOVE O MINE ran on for 4^th last time out over 1700M having overcome the widest gate. She is a winner around two turns and from a much better draw today, she can win again. (3) GOOGOO had a harder time from a wide draw last time out but if we go on her form coming into that where she registered five consecutive top three finishes, including her maiden win, then she is surely worthy of another chance here. (8) SEUNGNI GONGJU ran fairly for 5^th place at this class and distance on April 25^th. She has a couple of placings around two turns and under a light weight, can be in the finish again. (6) KHAN NUT is up in class and in distance after a good win over 1300M and can measure up. (9) LONDON ACE perhaps the best of a rest that don’t enter with much positive recent form.

Seoul Race 7: Class 3 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

Tricky one. (8) CAPTAIN TIME enters off 3^rd place at this class over 1400M on May 4^th when on pace throughout. A previous try at a mile didn’t go well but she could be ready for another crack, and she has as much chance as any here. (7) STAR CHANGER beat a couple of today’s rivals on her way to 3^rd place at this class and distance on May 17^th, racing handy all the way. She is a two-time winner at a mile and can be a danger. (2) BEST JEONSA was one of those beaten by Star Changer in that May 17^th race. At the start before, he was a winner at this class over 1400M and well-drawn, will have plenty of backers. (3) KING DIA and (5) TIZ INDY other minor money hopes.

Seoul Race 8: Class 3 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(1) ORION ALPHA has eight top three finishes from nine starts so far and enters off back-to-back runner-up efforts at this class from her latest two, at this distance and most recently 1400M on May 25^th, both times beating a couple of today’s rivals. She stays under a light weight and from the inside gate, she should be on pace and in this a very long way. (6) BRAVO PLAY was a super winner in a double-quick time at this class and distance on March 3^rd, leading all the way. He comes up a colossal 6.5kg in weight but warrants respect. (4) EXCELLENT TAN has a 2^nd and a 3^rd in two starts since being promoted to this class and the consistent gelding should be there or thereabouts again. (5) FARCIARZ and (3) LONG RUN BULPAE, the latter coming off the Triple Crown trail, others to look out for.

Seoul Race 9: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(9) ECLIPSE HONOR had a hard time in the Listed Sports Chosun Trophy over 2000M a month ago. He comes back into shallower waters today and to a distance at which he is one for one over, and he looks to be the one to beat. (3) NEW DOLKONG was a class and distance winner on May 10^th, settling midfield and running on. He comes up 3kg in weight but should be in the mix again in this company. (10) DRAGON BULPAE was a winner at this class over 1400M on May 25^th. He comes up 2.5kg in weight and tackles the two turns for the first time but he can be equal to both. (6) ENDING FIRE and (11) GWANAKSAN LEO are others to consider on a place line.
