Race 1 No 2 KING OBERON

A more positive ride did not pay off last time, as he battled in the straight and finished sixth over this track and trip. That followed a strong late run to grab fourth in a race with franked form.

The drop to Class 5 for the first time is a major plus, and he is expected to show significant improvement.

Race 2 No 10 PEJIBAYE

He hit the line strongly on debut despite the slow tempo, but was only fair at his second start, where he was crowded early and never really picked up, finishing seventh and beaten 3.75 lengths.

However, a recent trial saw him finish off nicely, and with added race experience, he looks capable of challenging for a Top 3 spot.

Race 3 No 1 ONLY U

He has turned in some solid performances in Class 4 of late, including a fast-finishing third over this track and distance last start. Dropping into Class 5 for the first time, he meets a modest field and, despite carrying top weight, looks well-placed to return to the winner’s list.

Race 6 No 10 QUICK CONTRIBUTION

A wide draw saw him restrained early, settling well off the pace last start. To make matters worse, the slow tempo did not suit, yet he still found the line well to finish seventh, clocking the fastest final 400m sectional. With a more genuine tempo, he could make amends.
