Korea Racing Busan Preview – 25 April

Busan Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Fillies only in this maiden with eight of the twelve racing for the first time. We’ll side with experience and (6) BREEDO MIRACLE, the only one to have raced twice. She did nothing on debut but was a close 2^nd at start two on March 14^th when leading until close to home. Third-up she can be peaking and won’t need to improve much to win here. It took (11) WIN GATE took plenty of trials to figure things out, but she looked well in her latest two, running 4^th and 3^rd in quick times and if she brings that form to the races, she will go close. (4) PACHAMAMA went through just one trial but was a close 2^nd in a good time and she is well drawn to play a big role on debut. (5) GUREUM BIT also hinted at ability in her trial while returning the experience, (10) YONGBI LEGEND is the most likely to improve.

Busan Race 2: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(7) BEOLGYOUI BOM took a few goes to figure things out but has run back-to-back 3^rd places in his latest two, most recently on March 23^rd over 1300M when coming from well off the pace. The step up in trip can suit and he can win this. (5) DOCTOR KAREN led in her most recent outing on March 28^th, ultimately finishing 5^th, but beating a couple of today’s rivals. There isn’t much early speed in this race so she should lead again and can be in this a long way. (6) BANGTANUI JEONSA returns to action for the first time since last November. He had put together a decent record before the layoff with a 3^rd and a 2^nd and looked well enough in a trial earlier this month. (2) DAEJI DAEBONG and (3) DIA MATE others in the frame.

Busan Race 3: Class 6 (1600M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Competitive maiden. (2) POWER TIME beat three of today’s rivals on his way to 2^nd place on his first try at this distance on March 28^th, settling midfield and running on. He draws better this time for Tanaka to pick his spot, and he can go one better. (3) FATE was 3^rd in that race, a length and a half behind Power Time. He also has a 2^nd place over the mile and with Seo Seung-un climbing on for the first time, he will have plenty of supporters to overturn that form. (4) QUEEN RACE comes in following a 4^th place at 1200M on March 14^th when settling midfield and finishing off well. That was her first race in almost three months so she can strip fitter here and step up to the mile can suit. (7) STAR FORCE and (11) CRUELLA others in at least the placing frame.

Busan Race 4: Class 5 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(7) SEKWANG LIGHT got his maiden in at start two and while he has mixed his form in five goes at this class, he comes in off a smart 2^nd place at this class over 1400M on March 30^th, coming from off the pace. Shifting back up to the mile can suit and he can win here. (6) FORCE BE WITH YOU was a winner on debut at 1300M on March 21^st, taking things up halfway home and proving too strong. He is up in class and in distance but is down in weight and can measure up. (3) ROCK CANDY was a maiden winner two outings back before running 4^th on her first try at this class and distance on March 21^st when getting a long way back before running on. She can go closer today. (11) NEOM CITY and (2) FAIRY are others in the hunt.

Busan Race 5: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(8) WHO IS NEXT ran three times last summer for a win and two runner-up finishes, all at 1200M and up to this class. He hasn’t been seen since last September, but he looked well enough when running 3^rd between two very good racehorses (one of them champion mare Jeulgeounyeojeong) in a quick trial at the end of last month and if he brings that form to the races, he should win. (5) TRIPLE SINHWA is yet to win but has five top four finishes from seven starts and enters having beaten a couple of these on his way to 3^rd place at 1400M on March 30^th. He remains under a light weight and shapes as the main danger here.  (4) DAEGIL HERO is similarly a non-winner but was a close 4^th at this class and distance last time out when coming from a long way back and can be a danger late on here. (12) MORNING DEW and (2) TRIPLE AXEL others to consider.

Busan Race 6: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(2) EUNBIT DAERO is a winner of three from six and scored at this class and distance two starts back when on pace throughout. He was a beaten favourite when 4^th last time but draws well again and is well worth another chance in this company. (8) GWANGBOKUI BANSEOK won two trials in good order at the end of last year but then didn’t debut until March 7^th. He was slow away but ran on fairly for 6^th place and with some natural improvement can be much closer this time. (11) BUSAN TODAY sounds like a regional newspaper but looks the logical 3^rd choice here. He ran 3^rd last time out at class and distance on March 16^th, beating a couple of today’s rivals in the process and he is a two-time winner at 1200M. (9) PUNCHER and the debut-maker (7) PRIME SECRET, who went through three trials, are the next bests.

Busan Race 7: Class 3 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

It’s been a while between drinks for (1) YEONGGWANGUIPRINCE but his recent form reads very well with a 4^th and a 2^nd from his latest two, the latter at this class and distance on March 9^th. He comes into a better gate today, Franco stays on, and he can go one better at a probably each-way price. (11) MAENGNYONG is up rapidly in class having won his latest two, both at 1300M. This is undoubtedly trickier with the mile also unfamiliar, but he has only missed the quinella once in seven starts, has won from a wide draw, and he can continue to measure up. (10) CARDINAL FORCE comes in following three consecutive runner-up finishes at 1200M and 1400M and he should be there or thereabouts again. (3) HEUIMANG GARAM and (2) FLYING KHAN among other chances in a competitive race.

Busan Race 8: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(10) MORPHEUS has been a little ordinary in his latest two, running 5^th both times at this class and distance. He has won over the1800M and while he draws the widest gate, there isn’t much early speed on his inside, and he could well ne further forward today and potentially go all the way. (8) YEOSU FIGHTER was a winner at this class and distance on March 16^th, racing on pace throughout. He comes up 2.5kg in weight, but third up this preparation following a lengthy absence he can be peaking fitness-wise and has every chance of backing up. (3) SUCCESSFUL enters off a 3^rd place at this class and distance on March 21^st racing on pace and beating a few of today’s rivals. He draws very well and should be close again. (1) SEKWANG CHOEGANG and (2) JANGSAN LEMON the other main chances.
