Race Preview

RACE 1: ALL IS VANITY STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM SALON-DE-PROVENCE RACE 1) – 1800M – TIME: 17:20 PRIZE MONEY: EUR27000

Summary: A small field but only one of them can be safely discarded. STARNBERG (2) looked
good when scoring on debut over this track and trip and would not be a surprise winner. IOWA
CITY (4) is improving and won over this distance last time out and deserves respect for that win.
DONEGAL (3) is consistent and will fight all the way to the line. SHOOTING (1) is improving and
can also get involved with the finish.

SELECTIONS
STARNBERG (2) – IOWA CITY (4) – DONEGAL (3) – SHOOTING (1)

RACE 2: DES CIGALES STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM SALON-DE-PROVENCE RACE 2) – 2000M – TIME: 17:51 PRIZE MONEY: EUR22000

Summary: MORPHEWAN (1) is in good form and was not disgraced in a handicap last time out.
Back in a conditions race he should prove hard to beat. BAY D’ARGENT (3) has been very
competitive of late and will not go down without a fight for top honours. THUNDERSPEED (4) is
better than the last run would suggest and can contest the finish. ROCQUEMONT (5) won a claimer
last time out but can make the frame.

SELECTIONS
MORPHEWAN (1) – BAY D’ARGENT (3) – THUNDERSPEED (4) – ROCQUEMONT (5)

RACE 3: SOCIETAIRES MAIDEN STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM SALON-DE-PROVENCE RACE 3) – 2000M – TIME: 18:23 PRIZE MONEY: EUR17000

Summary: An interesting race where there are some newcomers that could be very dangerous.
GENERAL JONES (4) and SANNOM (5) both represent trainers that know what is needed to score
on debut. GENERAL JONES (4) gets a narrow vote to score. COSMOPOLITAINE (2) ran well on
debut and with improvement expected should fight out the finish again. BANSHIE (1) is also
capable of contesting the finish.

SELECTIONS
GENERAL JONES (4) – SANNOM (5) – COSMOPOLITAINE (2) – BANSHIE (1)

RACE 4: GEORGES CAMPRUBI STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM SALON-DE-PROVENCE RACE 4) – 2000M – TIME: 18:55 PRIZE MONEY: EUR22000

Summary: BRUANT (2) is consistent and likes soft track so gets a narrow choice in a very
competitive-looking race. KINGSALE (1) has won at this track before and is capable of winning a
race like this. SISTERLAND (5) was not disgraced in a Listed race last time out and deserves the
utmost respect. ALBINE (7) showed improvement when scoring last time and could have more to
offer.

SELECTIONS
BRUANT (2) – KINGSALE (1) – SISTERLAND (5) – ALBINE (7)

RACE 5: LA LIBERTE STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM SALON-DE-PROVENCE RACE 5) – 2000M – TIME: 19:27 PRIZE MONEY: EUR14000

Summary: KHANWEILER (1) has been in top form recently, with two wins from his last three runs.
He scored at Fontainebleau 8 days ago and will be ready for this. SPORT COUPE (4) might be the
one who makes the selection work the hardest. He likes this track and ran well on his latest start
when third 21 days ago over 1800m. CARTER AND GO (5) is the one to side with each way. He
has numerous place efforts recently. JUSSIFER (3) heads the remainder.

SELECTIONS
KHANWEILER (1) – SPORT COUPE (4) – CARTER AND GO (5) – JUSSIFER (3)

RACE 6: RAYMOND GODINEZ HANDICAP (TURF TRACK) (FROM SALON-DE-PROVENCE RACE 6) – 1800M – TIME: 20:12 PRIZE MONEY: EUR18000

Summary: MAKING WAVES (8) ran a good race when second in a claimer last time. She is the
selection ahead of the top-weight BALIROS (1) who won at Vittel in late July and has not been
disgraced on his latest two runs. HAPPY TOGETHER (3) has shown ability in all three of his runs
and could be well handicapped. He looks like a good option each way. PROMESSE (6) ran her
best race when she was second at Le Mans earlier this month and can not be overlooked.

SELECTIONS
MAKING WAVES (8) – BALIROS (1) – HAPPY TOGETHER (3) – PROMESSE (6)

RACE 7: JOSEPH CREISSON HANDICAP (TURF TRACK) (FROM SALON-DE-PROVENCE RACE 7) – 2400M – TIME: 20:47 PRIZE MONEY: EUR15000

Summary: EXHIT (6) has been shaping well without winning of late. He was fifth at Lyon Parilly
earlier this month and is the tentative selection ahead of MISS ROAZHON (3) who was recently
second at Marseille Borely in mid-September when she was beaten under a length by SHE’S ALL
(2) who is now carrying a penalty for that win. The roles can be reversed this time. AMIATA (5)
makes up the shortlist.

SELECTIONS
EXHIT (6) – MISS ROAZHON (3) – SHE’S ALL (2) – AMIATA (5)

RACE 8: GERARD NOUGIER HANDICAP (TURF TRACK) (FROM SALON-DE-PROVENCE RACE 8) – 2400M – TIME: 21:22 PRIZE MONEY: EUR17000

Summary: VERLAN (7) has been consistent lately with three placed efforts, the most recent over
2000m at Marseille Borely when he was third. He can score from KINGORI (3) who won twice in
the Spring and was a pleasing third a couple of weeks ago. FOLLOW YOU (2) is one to include in
all of the place bet permutations. HADLEIGH (8) won at this racecourse three weeks ago and is
the best of the remainder.

SELECTIONS
VERLAN (7) – KINGORI (3) – FOLLOW YOU (2) – HADLEIGH (8)

RACE 9: CLAUDE ROUGET MAIDEN STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM ANGERS RACE 1) – 1600M – TIME: 21:57 PRIZE MONEY: EUR17000

Summary: CONCERTATION (5) has been placed on several occasions, her last effort when she
was fourth at Parislongchamp earlier this month. She can edge this from SITOI (3) who was second
last time on his return from an absence of six months. He should be a lot fitter for that outing.
AURORA’S BEAUTY (6) had some solid form in the UK and was second at Newmarket last time.
She warrants respect. SEPTIMUS (4) is also one to consider.

SELECTIONS
CONCERTATION (5) – SITOI (3) – AURORA’S BEAUTY (6) – SEPTIMUS (4)

RACE 10: BRANTOME STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM ANGERS RACE 2) – 1350M – TIME: 22:32 PRIZE MONEY: EUR27000

Summary: EURASIA (5) won on her debut at Dieppe in August in a race for newcomers. The third
and fourth that day have both won since, so it was probably a decent effort. She will improve and
can get the better of SILIUS (3) who was fourth in a Listed race two starts ago and won a Chantilly
maiden on his second run. LADY OF ANDROS (4) can also have a say in proceedings. OUT OF
AFRICA (1) bolted up last time. This will require a lot more but she can be on the premises.

SELECTIONS
EURASIA (5) – SILIUS (3) – LADY OF ANDROS (4) – OUT OF AFRICA (1)

RACE 11: CHATEAU ANGERS HANDICAP (TURF TRACK) (FROM ANGERS RACE 5) – 1350M – TIME: 00:16 PRIZE MONEY: EUR17000

Summary: Previous course and distance winner CAP SKIRRING (9) won in June over this venue
and has faired well since. She is preferred to BLACK CESS (3) who was a course winner over
1600m last year and ran a decent race in a Class 3 race at Parislongchamp earlier this month.
SHADE (10) has decent placed form recently and can once again be involved at the business end.
DIEPPE (13) has placed form at this track in June and heads the remainder.

SELECTIONS
CAP SKIRRING (9) – BLACK CESS (3) – SHADE (10) – DIEPPE (13)

RACE 12: ROI DE POLOGNE HANDICAP (TURF TRACK) (FROM ANGERS RACE 6) – 1350M – TIME: 00:46 PRIZE MONEY: EUR15000

Summary: MINO PICO (3) is given the marginal vote in this open handicap. He was a good second
at Le Mans 17 days ago when beaten narrowly. He can confirm his superiority over his main threat
SHAMASUN (6) who was third in the same race and has not got much ground to find. They meet
on identical terms except for the slight drop in distance. COOLMEEN ROYAL (4) and FECAMP (2)
can fight it out for the minor placings.

SELECTIONS
MINO PICO (3) – SHAMASUN (6) – COOLMEEN ROYAL (4) – FECAMP (2)

RACE 13: RICHMOND-BRISSAC STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM ANGERS RACE 7) – 2300M – TIME: 01:16 PRIZE MONEY: EUR14000

Summary: PHILOSOPHY (2) has shown good honest form of late and was a decent third at Craon
8 days ago when he finished third in a Class 3 race. SHATTERHAND (1) will be dangerous. His
run on his penultimate start when he was fourth at Parislongchamp was a nice effort and if
emulating that, he can play a lead role. HENOUVILLE (8) has been consistent all year and can
once again have a say at the business end. SOULOU MALPIC (3) is also worth a mention.

SELECTIONS
PHILOSOPHY (2) – SHATTERHAND (1) – HENOUVILLE (8) – SOULOU MALPIC (3)
