France Form Sheet – 6th March

Race Preview

R1 – PRIX DES ROCHERS DE FONTAINEBLEAU – 1200m (a6f) – TURF – Handicap – Flat – EUR € 25,000

1. PERLI CHOPE – Fresh off a gutsy victory over 1400m at Pau on the 19th of January in a
Handicap. Strong chance of following up. Good chance
2. BAKHILOVA – Improving with racing, placed an encouraging third over 1300m at Deauville on
the 2nd of February and a huge effort can be expected. Strong each way claims
3. SPEZIAL – She is the suggested base for all bets. Improving, finished third over 1300m at
Chantilly on the 23rd of February and rates the one to beat. Strong chance
4. VERCORS – Lightly raced, progressing, finished fourth over 1300m at Deauville in November
last year. Has not been seen since but can race fresh and well. Chance
5. SENZA TE – Ignore last run when seventh, finished fourth over 1300m in a Handicap at CagnesSur-Mer on the 29th of January. Should be in the first four. Quartet must
6. LOYAL PRINCE – Won penultimate, finished sixth over 1200m at Marseille Borely on the 27th
of February and has a small place chance here. Quartet value
7. BAYLINER – Will need improvement on latest fifth over 1300m at Cagnes-Sur-Mer on the 7th of
February. Lightly raced and could still have something to come. Lurker for the quartet
8. BAWE ISLAND – Placed second over 1000m at Angouleme on the 12th of November last year
in a weak race. Place chance if not needing the comeback race
9. GOLDEN GLOBE – Hard to fancy on overall average form. Finished eighth over 1300m at
Deauville on the 25th of January in a Handicap. Happy to dismiss from all bets
10. RUE MIA – Caught the eye when finishing third over 1500m in a claimer at Cagnes-Sur-Mer on
the 19th of February. Should run well and earn again. Strong claims
11. TRUE VALUE – Needs serious improvement to threaten and would be a shock winner. Finished
ninth over 1300m at Chantilly on the 24th of February. Prefer others

Summary: SPEZIAL (3) is lightly raced and improving every time she comes to work. Her last run
at Chantilly was particularly encouraging. She should run a huge race today and is the firm winning
suggestion. BAKHILOVA (2) is another that is progressing and should not be a maiden for too much
longer. She makes her course debut and can be given strong each way claims. PERLI CHOPE (1)
comes into the race off a confidence boosting victory at Pau. If she were to follow up, it would be
absolutely no shock at all. Include in all bets. VERCORS (4) is a must for the quartet.

SELECTIONS
SPEZIAL (3) – BAKHILOVA (2) – PERLI CHOPE (1) – VERCORS (4)

R2 – PRIX DU ROCHER DES DEMOISELLES – 2000m (a1m 1/4) – TURF – Class 3 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 20,000

1. MANDLEFT – Capable but inconsistent, although more effective on turf so her last start (10th)
in a 2100m PSF handicap at Pornichet on 27 December can be ignored
2. VIVA DU BUET – Sparingly raced mare who has made no impression in either outing since
returning from a 7-month absence. Was 8th in a 2400m PSF handicap at Lyon-La Soie on 24
January
3. ASLAN SENORA – Capable but inconsistent, though has enjoyed success under Maxime
Guyon. Finished 9th in a PSF handicap over 2000m at Cagnes on 25 February
4. NOT SO SILLY – Finished 3rd in a 2000m claimer on this course back in March last year but has
finished unplaced in all 12 of his appearances since, including his latest (10th) over 1900m on PSF
at Chantilly on 24 February
5. CHACHA TOUILLE – More effective on the turf but her recent appearances on PSF have left a
lot to be desired. Could only finish 12th over 1900m on PSF at Chantilly on 24 February
6. OCTOBER CHOPE – Runner-up in a 1600m Saint-Cloud handicap in November but has gone
off the boil since, finishing unplaced in all 7 starts since including her latest (12th) over 1500m on
the turf at Cagnes on 26 February
7. ATLANTICA – Consistent for the most part, especially on the PSF, and ought to remain
competitive reverting to the turf. Was 3rd in a 1600m PSF handicap at Chantilly on 23 February
8. KARYNIA – A veteran mare of 129 starts with 11 wins to her name. Finished 6th in a 2150m
claimer at Cagnes on 21 February
9. GOJI BERRY – Finished 3rd behind FOLLOW YOU (11) in a course-and-distance handicap on
2 March. Will be a factor here
10. ANONYME – Won a 2500m PSF handicap at Deauville in November but has struggled since in
three starts under a penalty. Finished 10th over that course and distance on 26 January
11. FOLLOW YOU – Runner-up in a course-and-distance handicap on 2 March and has references
on heavy ground, so will play a leading role
12. AFTERGLOW – Has placed in just three of 19 outings and is not likely to trouble the judge here
after finishing a modest 15th over 1900m on PSF at Chantilly on 24 February
13. ELLECOEUR DRALLIV – Unplaced in each of his nine appearances and is unlikely to change
his ways after finishing a well-beaten 12th over 1900m on PSF at Chantilly on 15 February
14. AMIATA – Finished a well-beaten 10th over 2600mat Marseille-Borely on 27 February. Others
preferred
15. DARENIX – Finished 4th over 2150m at Cagnes in January before a disappointing last start
(8th) on that course over 2500m on 21 February. Capable of better
16. GEORCO – Last-start winner of a minor PSF race at Mons on 17 April last year. Has not been
seen since so best watched for now

Summary: FOLLOW YOU (11) and GOJI BERRY (9) finished 2nd and 3rd respectively over this
course and distance last Saturday so are likely to find themselves fighting for victory. MANDLEFT
(1) has been absent since December but has already shown the means to play a leading role in a
race of this nature. ATLANTICA (7) has shown his form and well-being on PSF recently but could
get involved if transferring that form to the turf.

SELECTIONS
FOLLOW YOU (11) – GOJI BERRY (9) – MANDLEFT (1) – ATLANTICA (7)

R3 – PRIX DES SEQUOIAS – 2000m (a1m 1/4) – TURF – Class 3 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 22,000

1. FERNANDO – Consistent for the most part but has shown his form recently on PSF, finishing
2nd and recently 3rd over 1800m at Lyon-La Soie on 8 February
2. BONNIE HOPPS – Finished 3rd over 2700m on PSF at Chantilly on 16 February and has won
twice at Fontainebleau. Keep safe
3. TENNESSEE JOHN – Last-start winner over a 1900m PSF handicap at Deauville on 3 February.
Up 2,5kg on his return to the turf
4. YAVAIKA – Consistent for the most part and is confirmed on heavy ground. Showed his form
recently in a claimer over 2150m at Cagnes on 21 February (finished 4th)
5. ORANGE VIF – Consistent for the most part but needs to bounce back from a disappointing last
start when only 11th over 1900m on PSF at Chantilly on 24 February
6. UNIQA – Unplaced in each of his five appearances and is unlikely to change his ways after
finishing a well-beaten 16th over 1900m on PSF at Chantilly on 15 February
7. MAGNETIQUE – Won a 2150m handicap at Cagnes on 23 January but has struggled under a
3kg penalty in both starts since
8. KANIFUSHI – Has made no impression in each of his last four starts and was only 11th in a
2400m PSF handicap at Lyon-La Soie on 6 October. Overlook
9. PHILOSOPHY – Won a 2200m Quinte+ handicap on turf at Nantes back in June but struggled
under a penalty in his only start since (10th) at ParisLonchamp on 6 July
10. IRLANDIA – Last-start winner over a 1900m PSF handicap at Deauville on 25 January. Up 2kg
on his return to the turf
11. BLACK MORNING – Runner-up in a 2400m turf handicap at Craon on 3 December and has
regained freshness since. Respect
12. CAREGIVER – Has shown his form and well-being on PSF recently, finishing 4th over 2700m
at Chantilly on 23 November. Outsider
13. PORTRERO – Inconsistent and needs to bounce back from a disappointing last start (14th)
over 2500m on PSF at Chantilly on 26 January
14. CIVNYAN – Finished 14th on PSF over 2500m at Deauville on 16 November but could do better
reverting to turf
15. THAT’S MY POWER – Has made no impression in each of his last four starts and was only
11th in a 2000m turf handicap at Saint-Cloud on 30 October. Overlook
16. MOTORSPORT – Unplaced in each of his last four starts (all on PSF) but did finish 2nd in a
2000m handicap at Nantes in his last appearance on turf back in November

Summary: Fourth to “claim” recently in Cagnes, YAVAIKA (4) has since left Jérôme Reynier’s
boxes and seems competitive here. Also comfortable on heavy terrain, BLACK MORNING (11) is
worth following as soon as he returns. The inexperienced FERNANDO (1) remains more
experienced on the sand but can invite himself into the fight. Entrusted to Stéphane Pasquier,
PORTRERO (13) should be watched closely. BONNIE HOPPS (2) is very comfortable on this track.
