Former Kranji-based jockey Danny Beasley has taken the next step in his career by moving into the training ranks, achieving early success.
Beasley celebrated his first win as a trainer last Friday, marking the victory on only his third start with his second runner, the three-year-old filly Tropical Breeze. She triumphed in the $50,000 Super Maiden over 1000m, winning by 1.7 lengths at Beasley’s hometown track Wagga.
"When I got the trainer's license I just wanted to do well."

Tropical Breeze, owned by Beasley’s good friend, Hong Kong-based trainer Mark Newnham, had Beasley as the winning jockey, securing her maiden victory after finishing sixth in her first start on December 22. Beasley’s first runner, the three-year-old gelding Bongo Rhythm, also owned by Mark Newnham, finished sixth in October after racing wide throughout.
