A little over a year after assuming the role of Chief Racing Officer (CRO) at the Singapore Turf Club, Dayle Brown has resigned as Kranji heads into its final 10 months of racing.

Appointed in mid-September 2022 with the task of steering local horse racing in the ‘new normal,’ Brown will not stay until the end of Kranji’s racing tenure. He will be succeeded by chief stipendiary steward John Davidson, effective from March 1, 2024.

John Davidson will step in as Chief Racing Officer after serving as Chief Steward at the Singapore Turf Club.

However, Davidson has already taken on the responsibilities of CRO designate since December 1. Davidson previously served as a senior steward at the Turf Club from 2007 to 2013 before rejoining in 2020 as the Chief Steward following Terry Bailey’s departure to Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, Brown’s right-hand man, Zane Turner, who joined the Turf Club in March last year as Assistant Vice President (Racing Support), has also resigned from his position.

Heidi Lester, former Macau Chief Stipendiary Steward, has taken over as the new VP of Racing from December 8. Lester will oversee the racing department, primarily focusing on managing horse-exportation plans. Having served as a Stipendiary Steward with Racing Victoria for nine years, Lester moved to Macau and worked as Chief Steward for two years.
