Race Summary: Large field assembled for Race 1 and to make it even more enticing, it is a maiden handicap, so get your Quartet bets on. CAPTAIN EFFICIENT made good improvement on his Highveld form to take second on local debut. He could progress further. Similarly, GRADUATION TIME stepped up on his Western Cape form showing good pace on Polytrack debut. But he is not consistent and has also jumped slowly at times. MIRACULOUS MAN was beaten as favourite last time but he is consistent and could run well from his outside draw. MIDNIGHT ADVOCATOR, MISS TUCKER and FLAMING DRUM can get into the money.

Race Summary: There wasn’t much between BRIDGERTON and DEVIL A SAINT when they met, and it could get close again. The former has been staying on from off the pace over shorter and could be looking for the trip. The latter looks to have needed time. He ran a decent race when allowed to stride up front and could build on that. MOHANDAS can score with blinkers now fitted. He has done little wrong of late. GUERRA is a lot better than his last run when jumping slowly from a wide draw. BOB LEE SWAGGER and MALDANO have shown some potential and could be surprise packages.

Race Summary: MISTER MONOCLE looks well placed for a big run over the marathon distance. He has run some good races in decent company and even though he may prefer the going soft he could still win it. LORD NELSON is proven over the course and distance. A lot more can be expected from him after he stayed on well over a distance short of his best recently. QUESTION MASTER has been running well on the poly and could be a serious threat if handling the switch to turf. PAINITE won his maiden easily and could have more to offer but has drawn wide. More can earn.

Race Summary: LADY MISTICO has been raising her game on the poly and it will be no surprise to see her win again now back on turf. She is progressive and on pedigree should prefer the longer trip. But DOUBLE CHECK showed a bit of class in a feature and could be dangerous even though dropping in distance. DEFINITELY MAYBE loves the distance and should appreciate being back over it. However, she has yet to win on the turf at Fairview. CARBONADO won a feature on this course and could now be looking for the slightly longer trip. TRIED AND TRUE is up in class and will be tested but is holding form.

Race Summary: HOLY ORDERS was not at his best recently but has run well against decent types. He could make a successful local debut. EYJAFJALLAJOKULL looked dangerous last time and may be back to his best form. He can turn the form around with DAWN OF A NEW ERA at the weights but will need luck from a wide gate. The latter has drawn well and needs to be taken seriously again. EL ROMIACHI is always one to include. He is holding form and a 4kg claim could swing things in his favour. All of LORD VARYS, SON OF ZEUS, GLOBAL ALLY and SLINGS AND ARROWS could threaten at best.

Race Summary: UNDERWORLD is back to redeem himself after losing the Champion Juvenile Cup by 0.60 lengths. He hung inwards in that race, but a wide draw also looks to have cost him. He now jumps from stall No 1 and may have made further improvement during a break. FAIRY KNIGHT finished a short head in front of UNDERWORLD in the feature and could be dangerous again. He had a good prep on the poly and has bang-in-form Richard Fourie in the irons. BIG FELLA could be the dark horse. He was heavily backed on local debut and came home in impressive fashion. THE WINTER LAKE, THE CHARIOTEER and EMPIRE BLUE can earn.

Race Summary: At the weights this high-class contest should be fought out by CLIFF TOP and SILVER FALCON. The former was costly in his last two, but he was only just ousted in thrilling encounters and could now have his turn. SILVER FALCON’s bubble burst last time as he didn’t repeat the form that saw him winning his successive previous five starts. He is back up the straight, however, and could be hard to peg back if bouncing back to best. SLIM JANNIE has also been incredible this year and will be looking to hold off TEATRO, TRANSACT and the like again. There are more talented sorts that could pop up.

Race Summary: It could get close between ELLA’S DELIGHT, KOMESANS PASSION and SYMBOL OF LOVE. The former won a nice race two starts back but was coughing last time. She is dropping in class and needs to be taken seriously. SYMBOL OF LOVE carries a light weight and after flying up last time could get her head in front. KOMESANS PASSION could turn it around with POMODORO MAGIC and DELICASEA as she looks to have drawn better this time. However, the latter suddenly found form and could make further improvement. Stablemate ESTHER is in good form as well and needs to be included in all bets.

Race Summary: COASTAL PATH is returning to best form. He wasn’t far off Narcos who came out to win the second leg of the Poly Challenge last week. IRONTAIL has been a bit disappointing. He did come in for solid betting support but didn’t give of his best. He is worth another chance as he is a very capable sort. BENNELONG POINT won his maiden well enough to suggest he could be on the up. KUZNETSOV and TOUREIRO are both capable of showing a lot more than they have in recent times. JOYOUS JUBILEE is holding form and needs to be respected. More can upset.
