South Africa Racing – Rosh Kedesh looks a fair bet

Punters face another tricky card on the poly at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Monday but Dean Kannemeyer can help out with Rosh Kedesh in the seventh. The colt made a promising local debut and looks useful. He could be the one to beat from the best of the draw. Vaughan Marshall saddles Valdemort that has been a beaten favourite at his last two but the extra furlong could be what he is now looking for. Funky Music has shown some form on the poly. He was a recent winner and has a light weight while Sleek As Silk tries the poly but has useful recent turf form against stronger and can go close.

Trusova takes on older runners in the fourth but won well in similar company when shedding his maiden at only his second start. Drawn well he looks progressive. L’Ultimo has been deserted by the stable jockey but has been up against stronger of late and the step up in trip should suit. Justforthreepenny is struggling for his second win and needs some relief from the handicapper. He got another three-point raise for his runner-up berth last start and could find it tough going again. Exceed Expectations has consistent poly form and should go well again.

In the card opener, Robyn Klaasen sends out Tanganga who has been up against much stronger at recent outings. If he takes to the poly, he could prove difficult to beat. The filly Bevies Delight has been in strong company of late. She has a handy weight and should have a big chance in this line-up. Mr Henley needed his last run and has the best of the draw and could be a threat. Sun Blushed has not been out for six months but had feature race form before his break and is one to watch in the betting.

The second is a tricky affair and although Queen Mercury has the worst of the draw, she may have been just short of a run last start and can go one better. Kyleigh’s Fate comes from the in form Michael Roberts yard and was much improved in blinkers last run. She also goes well on the poly. Double Dream was a beaten favourite at her last two but is back over her preferred trip.

Virginia Sweet could start the Pick 6 even though she takes on males. She was not far behind a high-class field last run and will have a big chance if she takes to the poly. San Pedro takes on stronger but is two-for-two on the poly and the step up in trip should suit while Imposing is well in at these weights. He makes his poly debut but should run a big race.

The fifth is an open handicap but Shavout has been making steady progress. It has been some time since his last win but looks ready now. Zakho has improved in blinkers and loves the poly while Catch The Tune has been runner-up in his last two on the poly. Blazing Light was a comfortable winner last start and that form has held up. He goes well on the poly but does take a rise in class.

Visitor Twice As Wild was touched off in a smart poly debut and can go one better in a tricky contest. Kitten’s Adventure needed her last run. She steps up in trip from the best of the draw. Of the others, Drive By steps up in trip but is down in class while Magical Java has her third run after a break. She had the worst of the draw last start and can surprise here.

The last is another wide open fillies handicap. Conchita switches to the poly but older horses often improve lengths on the synthetic surface. October Song has been a little disappointing but has first timer blinkers. Shaken Not Stirred and stable companion Birdwatcher are both consistent while Malcolm’s Dream has shown improved form on the poly and could do better this shorter trip.
