Scottsville, 22.03.2023, Race 1, Gallops, 1100m, Turf, R100.000, 12:55GMT+2

Race Summary: MICKE’S BOMB made her debut in what looked a strong field on the Highveld. He stayed on in fourth and having drawn well on his Hollywoodbets Scottsville debut is entitled to have every chance. JURY’S OUT is by Gimmethegreenlight who has been having a brilliant season. He made a fair debut and could show a lot more here. ERROLS LEGACY has turned in two decent runs to date but has drawn toward the outside. ANDY COOGLE and BOMBER STREAM are related to speedsters Global Drummer and Cruise Control and could be the first-timers to watch out for.

Selections:

#1 Micke’s Bomb, #8 Jury’s Out, #12 Errols Legacy, #6 Plaza Accord

Scottsville, 22.03.2023, Race 2, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R100.000, 13:30GMT+2

Race Summary: JAZZ DIVA has shown some potential in the Western Cape and could be the one to watch. She has shown good pace over straight sprints and her last run over further is best ignored. IMPERIOUS DESTINY caught the eye on debut at Hollywoodbets Greyville and could be anything. However, she needs to jump on terms in her first try at a tricky track. VARIETY FAIR is overdue and may go close to opening her account judged on her best runs. DADDY’S JET improved again last time and may be over her issues. She can earn again along with TELIO who could improve with blinkers fitted.

Selections:

#10 Jazz Diva, #8 Imperious Destiny, #6 Variety Fair, #9 Daddy’s Jet

Scottsville, 22.03.2023, Race 3, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R100.000, 14:05GMT+2

Race Summary: RELEASE ME had wide draws in all three of his last West Cape starts but didn’t run badly at all. He could make a promising local debut jumping from stall one. The stable of Paul Lafferty has been in good form this year. RADICCHIO was just over a length behind the winner in his last two starts and has obvious ability. He too has drawn well and could be even better over the longer distance. KASHKAVAL has the experience to get the job done but has had little luck with draws. He has the pace to overcome the outside draw early. MOON HARVEST could enjoy the switch to turf.

Selections:

#2 Release Me, #3 Radicchio, #10 Kashkaval, #7 Moon Harvest

Scottsville, 22.03.2023, Race 4, Gallops, 2400m, Turf, R100.000, 14:40GMT+2

Race Summary: JOHNNY’S HOPE ran an encouraging race for his new yard and could build on that. He will need the race run to suit as he ran below par when running over this track and trip previously. LA DREAMER runs well here and has proven stamina. She has beaten most of this field over the course and distance and can finally get it right. TRITON hasn’t been far off and just needs to get the timing right. He should be right there. TOMMY THE KIDD may prefer even further than this but it could be the right race for him to get in the fray. VALERIAN NIGHT rates the dark horse over the distance.

Selections:

#9 Johnny’s Hope, #1 La Dreamer, #7 Triton, #8 Valerian Night

Scottsville, 22.03.2023, Race 5, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R100.000, 15:20GMT+2

Race Summary: BEECHAMWOOD BOY won his last two in fluent style and could complete a hat-trick. He is in fighting form. But DONQUERARI was only 0,5 lengths behind him and is now 1,5kg better off at the weights. He is now very much overdue for the win but interestingly he makes his debut for a new yard. Rested GO MAN GO has run well in much stronger races and is not one to take lightly. He has run well racing fresh from a break. SPYDAS CORNER and PUTINS PROMISE weren’t at at their best recently but also have good credentials here and could suddenly fire up.

Selections:

#4 Donquerari, #6 Beechamwood Boy, #7 Go Man Go, #1 Spydas Corner

Scottsville, 22.03.2023, Race 6, Gallops, 1000m, Turf, R100.000, 15:55GMT+2

Race Summary: Competitive event. AULD MUG turned in an encouraging local debut when beaten into second at this venue. Stripping fitter he should come on nicely. He had SEA VISTA and TRAFALGAR SQUARE beat and can confirm but both seem capable of better. BLESS ME FRED suddenly won comfortably after running second two times in a row. He can follow up if not minding the drop to 1000m. MCCARTNEY won his maiden without a fuss over this track and trip and could be dangerous on handicap debut, but he is carded to run prior. HAPPY WANDERER can upset suddenly.

Selections:

#9 Auld Mug, #3 Bless Me Fred, #1 Mccartney, #8 Trafalgar Square

Scottsville, 22.03.2023, Race 7, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R100.000, 16:30GMT+2

Race Summary: MARIA COROLINA won for the first time on the poly last time but confirmed that she was looking for the 1400m. She is switching to the turf track and looks well-placed to follow up. FABULOUS finished fatigued in her first run for the year and looks to have needed it badly. She can come on but has drawn widest. SLEEK AS SILK is on a roll and can make it three wins on the trot. KABON KAPI was disappointing last time and perhaps is not effective on the poly for now. She enjoys this track and could run a much better race. More can get into the fray – go wide in exotics.

Selections:

#6 Maria Corolina, #11 Fabulous, #7 Sleek As Silk, #1 Kabon Kapi

Best Win: #9 JOHNNY’S HOPE

Best Value Bet: #10 JAZZ DIVA

Best Longshot: #10 JAZZ DIVA
